Well, a bit of positive news from the SLC (Student Loan Company) who have said they 'probably will' accept payments from us via CCCS on a DMP. I had been advised that they would not, but :j looks good! Still a long way to go.....
Sx
Quick question - those of you on a DMP did you send paperwork from ALL companies to CCCS prior to setting up your DMP? We have a couple of online accounts who never send anything out (despite us asking them to  ) Will computer printouts suffice?
Thanks all xx:eek: LBM August 2008:eek:Total debt £51914.74 Paid off so far £47,611 DMP started November 08 Current debt £4,303.73Proud to be dealing with OUR debt ! :T0 -
Oh and HFC have been a real pain too. They keep phoning and I keep saying the same thing and they keep phoning..... I have requested that they only contact me by post from now on and I will be reporting them soon if they don't listen!!!! I think HSBC are going to be hard work too. They kept asking OH why had he just used the CC then told them he can't pay it back. We'd actually used it to pay another card off (YES I KNOW - HOW STUPID!!!) and hadn't been off wildly spending. One of our Egg cards have thanked us for the £1 payment and Barclay Partner Finance have now added over £30 in charges on a £320 debt. I did want to pay this off but CCCS said not to. Everyone else is quiet at the moment, just waiting......

Update.
Made first payment via transcash, and just posted off september's token payments.
Recieved defaults from Egg and Tesco. Egg sent it to the wrong address.
Rang them, I was so petrified, I dialled 141 so they couldn't see my phone no. The lady asked if I wanted to pay the excess thingy, I said no, that I've started a DMP, and she asked me for the ref. She asked why I'd started it, and I explained that it was due to illness, and she suggested that I contact the suppliers of my credit card protection policy thing. She then said that she needed up to date phone nos (so they'd obviously been trying to contact me). I said that I didn't want to give my phone numbers, but settled for my email, as they already have that, and they only ask me to log into internet banking, of which they have barred me!!!!). Lady pestered again, but insisted. I told her about the token payment they should receive anyday now, and that the CCCS payment should come through in late oct.
She didn't specifically say that Egg would accept my DMP, but said that 'a decision would be made within the next 28 days'. umm. Dunno what that means, but hey.
She then wished me all the best with resolving my financial difficulties!! I was gobsmacked, but I know humans can be humans, but the sweetness might not last forever.
Got default from Tesco, but nothing else. HSBC have asked me why I haven't signed up for their great value loan! MBNA were great, accepted straight away and dropped all charges.DMP Mutal Support thread No 237

I had the same thing said to me on the phone by a guy from Egg, hoping my financial difficulties got better soon, (chance would be a fine thing!) maybe its something they're told to say? It was quite nice to hear though.
I am at about the same stage as you and have'nt heard from egg whether thy've accepted the plan or not It's wait and see time i guess.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
Its a very powerful feeling when you can say "I'm not allowed to pay you anything extra- I'm on a DMP with cccs and all my payments are made direct to them who will ensure you recieve your portion by the 25th of each month - No thank you, I wouldnt like a consolidation loan, I'm on a DMP with CCCS so Im not allowed any further credit. If my circumstances improve CCCS will review my income/expenditure and revise any payments as necessary. Now, can you please ensure my numbers are taking off both the system AND the AutoDialler system and correspond only via letters from now on - I'm on a DMP with CCCS and they advised me to formally request this as I have had some problems ith harrassment which the CCCS say we dont have to accept".
Yes, very powerful.MSE-ing since 20070 -

Dont worry HFC are real pains in the but, In my experience i can say just in the meantime make calculations on any charges or PPI mis-selling or debt collection charges they may make ....just in case...ask for your CCA (Credit agreement) if neccessary on any of the outstanding debts plus SARS if you think it would help. Once you have agreed payments then perhaps fight for refund of any charges;)“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -
HFC have phoned 4 times today, only to disconnect when I get to the phone BUT tonight (or last night! ...) as I was ready for a fight, they were actually very nice! Man said they'd not yet heard from CCCS but would be able to stop interest once they had! He was very nice! Not what I had expected. Virgin were ok today too. Egg were once I'd explained. So far HSBC have been the worst GGGRRRR looking forward to getting those charges back......
Has anyone claimed them back because of financial hardship?

Hey Sarrie,
RE: internet accounts, yes I just printed off the statement of account from the screen, now sometimes when the printout comes out it has your account number starred out obv for security reasons, I just wrote the account number and address of company across the top and sent that off to cccs, I assume it's fine because it has my o/s balance in view along with the date!
Some of you guys are a month ahead of me, I make my first cccs payment !st Nov, I assume that once a few DD's start not getting paid, the phonecalls will begin in earnest. I will answer them though, the fear has gone lol....hope I am still saying that in 2 months
It's great to see how others are getting along, esp since we all seem to have creditors in common.

Thanks Any Chance. I'm hoping we can - it would clear our HSBC overdraft at least so it's worth a try.
Just had a call from Virgin who suggested a consolidation loan.
"How come you've got into this mess if you're working?" he asked me. Good lord. I'm off work today so will probably have lots of calls that I would usually miss. Sending off the paperwork to CCCS this week and token payments again to all of our creditors. Poor post office workers! Postal orders are such a pain!
