Good afternoon all you DMP'er!
Ive got another couple of questions, I'm really sorry to keep bothering but wont be happy til everythings clear in my head!!
Firstly, when i have my appt on 14th wth CCCS will they be able to give me a date my payments start and the amount during that first phone call? (im hoping!!)
Secondly, my OH as a bank account wth overdraft. Its over the limit by 350 since yesterday. Now he gets paid thurs but we need to put the money into the brand new account we have to cover the priorty bills (a secured loan). Thing is we are getting charged 25.00 a day for being over the limit. Is there anyway of stopping those charges except paying in his wage which we cant really do? Then at the end of month he as a loan with same bank which we cant cancel dd cos wth them so even if did pay it off we would be overdrawn again and charged daily. So the amount oweing is going up 100 a week if leave it. What should we be doing? Just leaving it?
Im getting anxious and we haven't even started yet getting calls and letters!!
Hope someone can help, if not least i got it of my chestJust a mum trying to make things happen!0 -
Hi there MOM....
at the phone interview, they will go through exactly what money you have spare to throw at your dmp...if you can agree this then they will give you a date, I'm thinking it may be 1st Dec now for you as it takes a few weeks to get things organised. They will then send you documents to sign, and sample letter to photocopy and fill in for each creditor.
As for your daily bank charges....mmmm...I am not entirely sure about this, obviously you cannot pay wages in here because they will be swallowed up by bank. The advice I have seen around here is let them pile the charges on, it will eventually become part of the DMP anyway, and then claim all unfair charges back once you are up and running with your DMP. You may even get a payout based on hardship!!! So basically do not pay any money into your bank account, cancel all DD's out of it, and just leave it to it's own devices until you can tell them for definate about cccs, when hopefully they will stop!
Good Luck:D

Right, first of hi, long time reader first time poster.
I am on a DMP through CCCS and my overdraft with LLoyds TSB is included. It is £1270 overdrawn and is currently having money paid into it via the DMP al beit a minor minor amount a month.
Lloyds have said i owe them money, which is true as before i set up my DMP i was repaying them back £150 a month to reduce it to zero, starting last sept due to finish around xmas.
Now I know CCCS's advice to to get a new bank account into which your salary is paid into. I have applied and been accepted thorugh Abbey so thats sorted.
Now my concern is this, according to lloyds i owe them around £220 a month but obv now i wont have any money paid into the account apart from tyhis miniscule amount my CCCS. Is this right? They wont start chasing me for payments via a DCA right?
Im new to this so i dont understand it fully. How can they take the amount owerd per month and reduceing my overdraft each month when no money is being paid into it?0 -
Hiya,
Does anyone have a link as to who is connected to who? I need to check all my creditors are not connected to my new bank account...
Many Thanks

I agree with TotallyBrassic! We've deserted our overdraft account and CC with HSBC and they will become part of our DMP.
I think lots of bank accounts will charge each day you are overdrawn but usually to a maximum each month. (£80-£100?) But like TB said hopefully you'll be able to claim any charges back so don't worry! Your priority must be to make all of your priority payments - gas, elec, rent/mrtgage, COUNCIL TAX, food, water. You can then send token payments to your creditors - I sent £1 postal orders along with a letter saying I was seeking advice from CCCS about a DMP.
Best Wishes!

Bluecandy, CCCS will be paying all of your creditors proportionally so Lloyds will get their fraction depending on what you owe them. They may pass your debt onto a DCA but this is not a bad thing as the interest is usually stopped and they can sometimes be easier to deal with. There is a good chance all of your debts will be defaulted and passed to DCAs but that's ok so don't worry!

Okay thanks. I need to phone them regarding something else tomorrow and i was gonna ask them but i didnt want to get into an arguement like i did on Friday.
I dont understand banking stuff like overdrafts very well and really need it in black and white but no chance of that.0 -
Just be strong Bluecandy and keep repeating that you are on a DMP with CCCS. How long have you been on your DMP? It will take a couple of months until your creditors all get the message! Then it should settle down. Is the money they are asking for just the overdraft? If this was included in your DMP then they will just have to lump it! Did they get a copy of your SOA to show how much you can pay back?
I would generally also try to avoid talking to them on the phone. I keep requesting that my creditors write to me instead. Just don't let them bully you into paying any more and don't let them intimidate you.
