but when do I sign and send in all paperwork to cccs?

I understand your problem but to be honest I just did everything immediately. I called and set up a new bank straight away, cancelled all my DD's etc and sent off the paperwork to CCCS immediately. I just made sure I kept all availbale funds out of my bank account so Natwest couldn't pinch it from me. I know my way wouldn't suit everyone but I wanted it all sorted.

however after confessing all to my parents I have been bailed out.

Congrats! I wish my folks could loan me £10k to get out of my mess but I already owe them thousands. One day they'll get it back.....one day.

Just don't get into the mess again.

  • Thanks jvic....mmmm I am thinking the second Halifax realise there is something amiss they are gonna swoop on money that we need. I think I will spend the week preparing all docs, check new bank on friday, if funded then I will send all stuff to cccs 1st class recorded friday morning.
It a wee bit of a panicky time...lol, mind you no worse than wondering where peter has gone so i can rob him...

Hey all - Due to make my 1st DMP payment 1st Oct. Its going tobe very tight this month (VERY) as the little we had put by for Car tax etc has been eaten up with food increase, petrol & a jump in our DD for gas/Elec (argh!). Have sorted my budget now to sort these but our car is in for MOT (now!) and we are awaiting a call to see how much its going to be. Im hoping beyond hope its going to be a pass otherwise I'm not sure if we can make our 1st payment. This is a ridiculous start and we've been fine with the budget - no overspending (on the absolute minimal budget CCCS will allow) etc, but to not be able to make the 1st dmp payment (!). If needs be - would CCCS allow us to pay our creditor a token on 1st Oct and contact them all to say DMP start date has been revised and will start Nov 1st? (As I've typed this message I have had 2 missed calls from 2 different creditors !!!).

Am REALLY worried if we cant make the first payment CCCS will not allow us to continue with the dmp. Its a terrible start and look crap.

Wish the phone would ring so we could see how much the MOT bill will be. Need some moral support because Im sat here on the edge of tears which Ive not done since first speaking to CCCS.

    Thanks

Well, the car failed the MOT spectacularly - will cost min £400+ to fix but in the mechanics words "Its just not worth it" - its not, the car cost us less than £300. No car and I can't work. Im petrified.
No idea what to do now. Its all come crumbling down.

  • I have sent out all my letters to my creditors apart from my hubbies LLoyd overdraft. Now sent them all recorded delivery, but hubby's wages get paid into the lloyds bank on Wednesday... should I withdraw as much as I can on Wednesday when they hit? HHEEELLLPPPP!! I have transferred any credit remaining in that account to my BOS account...

    Thanks

  • Hi Nicky Sue,

Dunno what to say girl...could you try ringing cccs, explain the situation, ask for an extension on your start date due to unforseen circumstances? They seem nice people, willing to help. If they say yes could you then find the money for a cheap runaround,or even a moped!
I am new here myself, and begin my own dmp on nov 1st.
    Good luck with it all.

    Thanks TB
We have no reserves and if we didnt pay this months dmp that would be £130. Looking on ebay for something to do us. Would need to be a car because of the stuff I need to take to work etc (including my toddler)! What a mess. Really didnt think it would basically be a write-off - we only got it in Feb and it had 26000 miles on it. Absolutely gutted.

I'll ring them first thing but its not going to make my creditors overly sympathetic, and Im worried about the CCCS. Its takenso long to scrape enough extra each month to get this low start dmp as it is, really cant afford (mentally) to start again.

26,000 miles and its a write off?? what happened to it?? hope you can get it sorted out.
  • Just noticed I am right behind you on the dmp numbers! lol

Sorry about the moped comment, i wasn't being flippant, obv if you have a child and such then no good to you.
Could you get a second opinion on the car? Maybe someone else could fix it up cheaper, seems low mileage to be completely crocked!

Have you anything of value which could be sold? We surprised ourselves a few months ago by ebaying lots of bits of clothes, games, dvd's...made about £200. It's well worth a clear out, plus it may bring enough in with this month dmp payment(if cccs will allow it) to sort your car out or buy another :)
