I think you should prob not divulge your new account details to any creditor who will be on the dmp? I could be wrong, but best to play it safe. I think the idea of token payments in the month leading upto 1st dmp payment is to show that
a: you have no spare money
b: you are at least trying.
I have just begun slipping on a few payments in Sept and cannot wait to get my dmp up and running, so that at least my creditors know what the problem is!
Best of luck anyway,

Ooooh! There MAY be light at the end of the tunnel re the car. Hubbys boss has agreed to lend us his car (he has two) which will buy us some time to raise some cash. Now I have to work out how we go about insurance?MSE-ing since 20070

Thanks for the advice ... but surely any of my creditors can get details of my new bank account by just looking at my credit file? Which I assume they are allowed to do at any time anyway? I've emailed CCCS to ask their advice on this, as I can't see how my making a bank transfer is any different to sending them a cheque (not a postal order), is it? I assume it's not as if they can get their hands on any money that's in my new account, since none of my creditors are allied to my new bank.
thanks

Thanks TB. His boss who has lent us the card for a month (!) has put DH on his insurance and we've paid the extra coverage. Absolute Godsend (must now stop saying horrible things about his boss lol!). It gives us a month to scrape together some more cash!
Already I have £50 car tax on its way, and £25 from Pureprofile being sent. We were going to have the car weighed etc and would have got approx £50-£60 for it but because 1) Its classed as dangerous on the MOT and 2) Has no displayed Tax Disc we can't drive it here it needs to go (I checked this with local police because our luck at the moment would have us pulled up on the way to get it scrapped). Now will get maybe £25 because someone will have to pick it up (sob) but have a carbooty on Sunday and have booked in extra work for whenever I can so heres hoping.
I am accepting cash payments for ringing creditors constantly, and repeating that I havent had their paperwork, or offering them consolidation loads, or asking them if they can get another job, or threatening to steal their garden knomes.... if anyone is interested?MSE-ing since 20070 -

HI everyone i have not been around for a while i am around 8 months into my DMP with CCCS and everything has been fine .The last time i posted i was a little worried as i wanted to reduce my payments to cccs as i was struggling mainly with gas and electric going up .I did reduced my payments that was about 4 months ago and i never heard anything from my creditors which i was happy about .
Yesterday i have received a letter from Lloyds TSB credit card it is more of a contract i think .The letter reads that my dmp with them has always been informal but they wish to make it more formal there are about 2 pages of terms and conditions .I dont really understand what this letter means and why send it now ? are they up to something ? The letter also says you agree to pay us £50 per month but that amount was the amount before cccs reduced it i now pay them £20 per month .I have rang Lloyds to ask what the letter means and also the amount is wrong i can only afford to pay them £20 per month ,the lady i spoke to seemed very nice and said it is nothing for me to worry about and it is ok that i am paying £20 just keep paying £20 and as long as i never miss a payment thats fine .
I dont trust them, are Lloyds up to something ? what is this contract all about, should i tell cccs do you think i need to be worried ?0 -
Our dmp begins next month, I wanted to ask if any of our creditors will know about the situation with equity in our property?
We have decent equity, but realistically couldn't sell at present (we had already considered this as a means to pay all debts off)
If any of our creditors find out about this from cccs does anyone think they would vigourously pursue a charging order over our dmp agreement?
Any help on this much appreciated.
It worries me slightly that we have chosen the dmp route over the upheaval of selling and moving into rented accomodation, we could do all this and someone could force the sale of our house.
Our highest unsecured debt is £7500.
Thanks guys in advance
