Thats Strange. I used the account number and sort code off the standing order and didn't realise it was different on the trans cash thing. My reference number didn't get attached to my payment though so it got lost for 2 weeks, they had the money but didn't know it was mine so may be best to go to the post office anyway. I just didn't want to spend the £2.60.

Hi Jvic, just a quick update - I contacted CCCS to confirm the bank details for online banking and they gave me the same details as for the standing order, as you advised. So long as the DMP ref. no. is included they're happy for the first payment to be made online, so I will save that £2.60 after all!:rotfl: :D :j :T

cheers

Hi

So what was the numbers then, I want to pay through my bank on 1st as I'm at work all day and can't get to the PO (and want to save the £.260)

My Transcash slip has my Refrence No on it and a Credit Account Number, which I assume is their bank account number, but no sort code, any ideas?

Thanks

• Hello all,

Apologies for a simple question that has probably been asked before, but I am in a situation where if my credit card companies will stop interest and accept zero (or near) minimum payments until my house sells (which could take a few years), I will be able to pay them back in full.

Does anyone have any experience of whether the card companies will go for this idea, bearing in mind if they are reasonable and patient I can at least pay them back in full with the exception of a couple of years worth of interest.

Thank you,
Martin

I got the sort code off their website. Log in and go to the "your plan" section, if you bring up the standing order mandate the sort code is on there. When you make the payment make sure your cccs reference number is attached to the payment so that they can allocate it to your account. It's probably worth following it up with an email to make sure they have received the payment. Remember online banking isn't always immediate so up to you whether you want to do that or just go to the post office (remember costs £2.60 at post office).

Hi tranceaddict, here's the advice I got from Jvic on how to get the account details... if you can't get them this way, you can pm me and I'll send them over (I'm not sure whether cccs would allow details to be posted:o ). For some reason the account number is different from the one on the transcash slip, which confused me!

• Hi guys

I really should be reading over the forums to get the answer to my q but I've been struck down with an awful sickness bug for the last 3 days and will be heading back to bed after I've posted this :(

I got a default notice through the post from Egg today, do I need to get in touch with Egg about it, via letter or something? And do I need to send cccs a copy of the default notice?

Thank in advance and sorry for my laziness!

• Just wondering what other people place in this box, do you need to write much, has anyone ever had any questioning on it from creditors?

It seems simple, "over stretched on credit" but I want to get this 100% correct!!!

Thanks
• Hi SBS,

imho the less you say the better, "rising cost of living / overtretched on credit" should be enough. If you've had a drop in pay/lost your job/are on sick leave etc, of course include that, too:o

I put something similar on my forms and have not received any comments from cccs or my creditors - I did notice that my online DMP account (budget section) has "other" recorded against "cause of debt", though!

It's a good idea to send the forms off recorded delivery, so you have a record that they actually received them. (I didn't, and regret it!) I have had a couple of statements showing zero interest and even an acceptance of the amount offered by cccs, but not one direct acknowledgement that they received my initial forms (but they must have done, as that's how you grant cccs permission to discuss your finaincial affairs with your creditors).

so don't worry too much about it, you'll feel much better once they are in the post - it's a big step in the right direction :D:D

• Hi

Sorry for the long post, but I thought I’d give you all an update on how it’s going one month in (plus a few questions thrown in)

9 creditors cancelled all payments mid August and wrote to them all with a £2 token payment asking them to stop/freeze interest etc until CCCS have been in touch, so no September payments to any creditors, first payment to CCCS on 1st October.

Responses so far

Barclaycard – Received my statement today, headed “Your Payment Plan”, please continue to make the agreed monthly payments. Interest reduced to 6% on cash and purchase’s. So I take it they have accepted the DMP (though my DMP payment is only £1.05 more than the interest for next month!) I’m going to write to them again as they want payment by 22nd of the month, CCCS don’t pay until 25th.

Tesco Personal Finance – 1 letter saying they are prepared to accept reduced payments offered for a limited period of time and will be transferring my account to their credit management services, so again that’s another good one I suppose. Will send copy to CCCS next week.

Barclayloan – 3 letters, first one asking why it hasn’t been paid, letter sent by me reminding them of the first letter I sent in August, second letter from them saying pay immediately, again letter sent by me reminding them of CCCS, third letter received today saying that as I hadn’t paid they have taken the money from my Barclays current account!!!! Now I know they can do this, however my current account overdraft is part of my DMP and I wrote to them asking them to close/freeze it, so what should I do now, write to the current account again, and to Barclayloan, don’t want them taking that money every month.

Barclays Current Account – Nothing heard, but see above re them taking money from it, it’s not up to its overdraft limit, but it will be soon if they keep taking the money.

AA Personal Finance – 3 letters all stating how disappointed they are theta I have not been in touch with them! I have written to them 3 times as well explaining everything, they’ll get the message eventually

Direct Line – 3 letters similar to above, 3 replies sent

Egg Credit Card– Default notice served, assume that means they’ve accepted the DMP, have to wait and see, copy will be sent to CCCS next week

Capital One Credit Card– Default notice served, assume that means they’ve accepted the DMP, have to wait and see

GE Money – 1 letter asking why direct debit has been cancelled, nothing else heard.

So all in all so far I can’t complain, I don’t answer phones and the letters all so far have been pretty standard and not too scary.

Just need to sort Barclays, how can I stop my current account being pilfered!

Thanks for listening and good luck to all
