Hi everyone, had problem with broadband connection so not checked in for a while, lots of newbies!
A quick question, am due to make first payment on my DMP on 1 Oct, but in meantime had two default notices. Not sure if I should write to the companies concerned again stating I have set up DMP or, or they just standard letters which dont need replying to.
Thanks.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -

) and plan what you need to do, don't beat yourself up too much about the tax credits just make sure you get the account changed so they will be paid next month into the new account. Although I'm not sure but I think you can get that money paid back as it's for your family??? not too sure so please don't take my word.
When I was setting up my DMP, I desperately called round the usual dd's and had missed the payment for my gas. The woman wasn't bothered as it was genuine and said 'you will get a letter saying you have missed the payment, problem with your bank etc please call with new bank account details' and they did. I got a letter and I called them with new details so please don't worry, the gas, electric, water etc will let you know they want their money!
Thanks! Just makes me want to kick them in the shins lol!!
Does anyone know if they are actually allowed to take Tax Credits? I'd be so so so grateful if anyone knows where I stand on this one. I'm not expecting to get it back but it has really left me short for food etc for the kids, grrr! Anyone with any experience, head this way! I'd be most grateful.Starting DMP with CCCS 1st October 2008

We still don't have our sort code and account number for the new account yet. Fingers crossed it's here tomorrow
Can't answer your tax credits question I'm afraid, but perhaps someone else will know!

I would write and tell them you are entering a DMP first payment is on 1 October and tell them who are doing your DMP for you.
Default notices will start coming when you miss or make lower payments so I am not saying to worry but I always think it best to keep companies in the loop then they can't or shouldn't moan as much, if they do you can point out you let them know!0 -
Hi all my DMP is going ok the letters and phone calls appear to have stopped which is good. I've had a couple of default notices and that the debt will be passed over in the next ten days but as yet i've heard nothing else and this was 3 or 4 weeks ago and they are still accepting my DMP payments so I don't actually know whether they've defaulted or not??0

Says it so much better then I have been trying to say it, I suck at explaining things :rotfl: 2 months now I have watched my HSBC loan payment attempt to be collected from my HSBC current account that is over the overdraft limit due to their own charges, then bounced and more charges added. Its frustrating as hell but you just have to wait for them to default the account. All my money safely pops into my Basic bank account away from HSBC and they get their monthly portion via CCCS.
.
hiya, this is what is happening to me with HSBC, I haven't set up a DMP because up til now I have been managing to make the repayments and I do think that in a couple of months time I'll be ok again. Do you think HSBC would accept reduced payments for my loan and credit card and bank account o/d for a few months until I get myself sorted out again?! Or will they just keep putting charge after charge on my bank account? I do have other creditors, but have been keeping up with the repayments as I have switched to a basic bank account elsewhere.
Could I just have a debt management plan with HSBC and keep all my other debts paying off smoothly?
Argh sorry for all the questions!!!£10 extra a day in June challenge - £300  / £10 extra a day in July challenge - £150 / £10 extra a day in August - £325 (helped by giving up smoking :A ) /A Payment a day challenge (starting 1 Sept...)0 -
Hello folks. I've not been around in a while as we have been away and very busy with work, family, dogs, cats etc etc etc!
Just an up-date. As some of you know, we decided (well, I did) to go it alone with the DMP. We are second month in and all is going well at the moment. I'm enjoying having full control over everything and the daft thing is, hubby and I feel a lot more confident going it alone as we are able to keep on top of everything and know exactly what is going on.
I'm just in the middle of writing to the FO regarding Barclaycard. I requested they cease interest as it was more than our monthly payment. They have responded that they will reduce it, not stop it, but it is still higher than the payment we make each month so the debt is rising. So, time for the FO to have a look methinks!
Anyway, nice to see everyone again so to speak and hello to all the newbies.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
maybe a silly question I dont know.. I have recieved my pack from CCCS, have decided to go with them as opposed to Payplan. They are asking for statements or letters from my creditors... do I send them originals or copies?.0
-
Hi, I sent copies - they really need your creditor details, account numbers, and an estimated balance for them to start the planworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
