I see people are having problems with Lloyds. We got a letter from them today about the loans - from their collections department - telling us to get in touch immediately and that we have to pay them money we owe them. DH is going to ring them (I know they won't speak to me as they are not in my name) and tell them to deal with CCCS. I feel quite panicky about it if I'm perfectly honest.
Hi Just Me
We had the same letter from them and when I tried to call there was a 20min wait. So I waited for them to call me ! and they are now ringing upto 3 times a day so last night I really lost my temper and said that I feel they are harassing me and adding to an already stressful situation. It is not my fault if TSB are not updating their system with letters from CCCS fast enough. Other creditors have accepted the DMP.
That soon shut her up and she said she would put a note on the account to wait a week for CCCS letter,
The letter is just a scare tactic, when you speak to them just advise you are going through a DMP and you cannot pay any more money. Be firm and you will be fine.Lightbulb moment: 19 May 2008 !!Total debt May 2008: £24,220 Debt free date: Jul 2013DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 196Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -
Hi, newbie here. I have to tell my oh about my secret £20,000 debt. Am dreading it. However, i am going to tell him about DMP's and say i am thinking of going on one so he won't have to pay off my debt. I have not long registered as a childminder and would like to know if cccs or payplan will ask for proof of earnings to show creditors and copy of essential bills like gas, electric. I have copies of the bills but not my earnings as i don't get payslips and havn't had to do tax return yet? What info will they want me to send in?? Thanks.0

Creditors don't get to see any earnings bills etc just a statement of your outgoings and incomings prepared by CCCS. If ever they ask you to supply anything don't they are not entitled!
Just explain to CCCS how early days it is and provide them with what you can don't worry too much. I think telling your partner and telling him the solution could help.
If you have got £20,000 debt he must have seen some of the benefits of this (assuming you have known him for a while!) so if he had stopped to think he must have wondered what was happening.0 -

We have a mortgage on DMP with GMAC the rate is fixed (until sept 2009) for 2 years at 6.79% then it changes to 8.33%
We got a deal with Chelsea Building Society at 6.34% fixed only been in it two months I think it will go up to about 7.24% but if we keep our payments going for teh two year then they will remortgage again ignoring our credit history and we will get the rate anyone does with a good rating if that makes sense.
We had been on a DMP for two years.0 -

We did the sneaky and changed our phone number so no phone calls - although they have tried to call DH on his mobile. DH rang them this morning and he said they were fine about the whole thing so that's a worry off my mind. I've been in a DMP with Payplan since Oct 06. One of my debts is a £600 overdraft with Lloyds.
I was really pleased when the DMP was set up as all agreed to stop interest. However, i've just received a letter from Lloyds Solicitors saying that they are not happy with the amount being paid and the outstanding balance is £1700  !!!!
Obviously i phoned Payplan immediately this morning and said HELP, what's happening? They said that obviously Lloyds had agreed to cease interest, but had now started again.
I feel so Peeeeeed off! I've been doing my best to try and pay off my debts, yet this one has TRIPLED in size. Payplan said they'd write to them and try to stop it again. I feel annoyed with Payplan too for not picking up on this. I gave up trying to use their Justabank facility a long time ago as i could never access my details, despite numerous phone calls to get this rectified. I guess i just ignorantly assumed all was ticking along nicely and my debts would soon disappear (well, 10 years!).
Sorry for my long rant, i'm just fed up. God, if all my creditors have done this, my outstanding debt could be £45K not 15 - oh pants, i shouldn't have just thought that!!1st 7lb off, 1st 7lb to go! 27/06/08and about £20k to go to!!!0 -
Was the solicitors letter on grey paper? If it was they are not proper solicitors just another department within Lloyds.
I personally would write a FORMAL COMPLAINT letter, telling them they had agreed to stop interest, you have paid all that time and honoured your part, that the amount of interest they have put on is exploiting your financial position and that considering they support Payplan that it is a poor show they are charging you interest for a cause they support. I am sure once you keep writing you will get in a flow. Make sure you demand all the interest back and an apology.0 -
Thank you Rayday, I'll give it a bash, and yes the letter was on grey paper.
I think i've always avoided getting into communication and let Payplan deal with it, as Payplan always said i should. But to be totally honest i don't think i trust them to sort this mess out.
Will write a strongly worded letter to them tonight once ds has gone to bed and i have some peace and quiet to concentrate!1st 7lb off, 1st 7lb to go! 27/06/08and about £20k to go to!!!0 -
p.s do you think i should write to Lloyds, or the 'solicitors'? Or both?1st 7lb off, 1st 7lb to go! 27/06/08and about £20k to go to!!!0

Write to both send recorded delivery - I have a contact I used to write to at Lloyds if you want a named person and mine was re an overdraft. Also take some time to read through this - if they have ever broke any bits then quote the document and give your story - its not that lengthy you can skip read it but you have a lot of money to gain back so worth a try!
