I've been with Payplan since September 07. As far as I can remember Payplan didn't contact any of my creditors until they sent the first payment. I think it's their way of saying "this is what the client can pay, here is the payment and it's non-negotiable" which suited me fine :D .

If any of your creditors contact you in the meantime just quote your Payplan number and tell them they will be in touch,

    Love,
    Sam,

From what I can gather from Payplan, is they send out the initial contact letters to all creditors saying the are acting on our behalf and ask for balances. When we make our first payment to them, they then send them the proposal of DMP payment along with a SOA - hope that helps

    Hi all,

    hope things are going ok

i just thought i would pop over to let you know that we are on a DMP (we have been for a while). A few Lenders have started to put interest and charges back on, my OH rang virgin and complained and we have just had a statement and they have credited the charges and interest back just through one phone call. They are no longer charging interest or any other charges thank goodness.

If only the Halifax would be as helpful  i am sending a letter of complaint then will go to fos if they dont help

So if anyone has had chrges etc put on their accounts dont forget to try and get them back

I see people are having problems with Lloyds. We got a letter from them today about the loans - from their collections department - telling us to get in touch immediately and that we have to pay them money we owe them. DH is going to ring them (I know they won't speak to me as they are not in my name) and tell them to deal with CCCS. I feel quite panicky about it if I'm perfectly honest.

    Hi Just me,

    Please 'Dont Panic' (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=AhLGA96fvMc)

If you are on a DMP then you are doing what you can to repay them, so they cannot demand the whole payment.

My OH sometimes has calls like that, he rings them and keeps calm telling them that the payments go through cccs etc then they are ok, if they arnt its tough for them.

Sometimes i find that they just try it on,payments from cccs have often gone through later than usual but in the end it hasnt been a problem.

Your doing your best and that is what counts

That is my understanding aswell. Though they had trouble getting a couple of the balances from my creditors and told me that this would cause a delay in making the offers (Good old Lloyds! When they did send them they were wrong!) - That wouldn't delay the payments though. They said that if they hadn't got the balances they would have based the first payment on an estimated balance and then sent out the offer based on the actual balances when received.

    Hi Sam,

We had to buy a car as i had to sell the last one i needed one to get to work.
Due to the DMP we had a limited choice, we used welcome finance.
The car was sold to us for more than it was worth and front loaded.
However we were desperate and it was essential so we had it.

I was wondering if people are managing to get mortgages on their DMPs?

We have a mortgage on DMP with GMAC the rate is fixed (until sept 2009) for 2 years at 6.79% then it changes to 8.33%

    Hi Just Me
We had the same letter from them and when I tried to call there was a 20min wait. So I waited for them to call me ! and they are now ringing upto 3 times a day so last night I really lost my temper and said that I feel they are harassing me and adding to an already stressful situation. It is not my fault if TSB are not updating their system with letters from CCCS fast enough. Other creditors have accepted the DMP.

That soon shut her up and she said she would put a note on the account to wait a week for CCCS letter,

I wouldn't worry about the letter it is just another scare tactic and when you actually speak to them just explain you are going through DMP route, they can't make you pay what you haven't got.
