Hi Angel Cake,
I'm with Payplan aswell. As soon as I'd returned the documents they wrote to all my creditors with my authority for them to act. However they didn't write with an offer of payment until my first payment had been made.
I didn't get anyone accepting my DMP until after the 2nd payment, then they all came in a rush just before the 3rd.
I have had a text from payplan this morning to say that they are sending out all the initial paperwork to my creditors today, i have asked if i can make my first payment to payplan 1st august, i will send token payaments 1st july, they replied with that this could hold up having my financial statement to my creditors!!! (this reply wasnt from my case worker tho) But i thought you had to give the creditors 4 weeks to reply with an acceptance to the DMP....Am i right?....This would make my 1st payment to payplan on th 1st august ok wouldnt it???

Creditors are so annoying!! (I know, it's taken me a long time to realise this!!)
Slowly but surely I am getting letters through to accept my dmp. Next agreed today to freeze interest and charges but Empire catalogue who I owe a paltry £103 have defaulted me and refused my offer of payment.
Do CCCS automatically know it's been handed to a DCA or do I have to tell them?
How is eveyone else doing?DMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110 -

I suspect you will have to tell CCCS. Creditors can be unwilling to comunicate with CCCS. It's no hardship though. You can do it on the CCCS website via a secured message.

Oh well...
sorry for being such an absentee of late...work was taking over my life..sorted that now so I get time to spend with wife, kids and doing the gardening (trying to get some veggies going - well actually trying to get the land cleared so either late this season or next season we can grow our own)
I'll try and catchup on the pages I've missed; but bear with me.
There's no denying it now...I've sent off the paperwork to CCCS so at least the ball is rolling properly. I've cancelled the DD's from what was my main bank account as it is included on the DMP...boy did that feel weird too!
I do have one question:-
I setup a backup bank account and informed the lady who does our payroll of the change so my wages get paid into there (due friday woo hoo!) however; I'm now wondering if I told her too late and I'm going to get paid into the old account - and she's away this week until next week so I cannot check.
I'm loathe to setup a new DD to pay Northern Rock my mortgage payment as there'll not be enough to cover the payment (due 1st July) if I don't get paid in there.
I was wondering if anyone knows if I could pay by phone OR if I should arrange the DD and try and make arrangements to ensure the money is there if I do get paid into the old account?DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 201

You don't wait for creditors to accept, you tell them what is offered and pay them regardless. I am assuming payplan like to tell them whats on offer and pay straight away but guessing hopefully someone else with payplan experience can answer that niggle for you!0 -

I have not dealt with NR but when we were switching our mortgage account the company would let us pay over the phone. Have you rung NR and told them that you are in the process of changing bank accounts and how can you make the next payment as the new account is not quite set up - will they take cheque or card whichever you prefer.0 -

When I spoke to NR, they said they don't care when in the month they get their money. They call for the DD on the 1st but so long as the cash hits the mortgage account some day during the month of July, they class the July payment as being on time.
Personally, I moved from DD to paying by SO and I pay towards the end of each month. There is an extra fee if you continue to pay by any means other than SO.
<EDIT:....I am an idiot - I meant any means other than DD >
Phone NR and see what they say. It will not be a drama0 -

I've been with Payplan since September 07. As far as I can remember Payplan didn't contact any of my creditors until they sent the first payment. I think it's their way of saying "this is what the client can pay, here is the payment and it's non-negotiable" which suited me fine.
If any of your creditors contact you in the meantime just quote your Payplan number and tell them they will be in touch,
Love,
Sam,
