  • apologies, this is posted on the PPI forum, but people seem to stick to specific forums:

In some credit card/loan terms and conditions it states that PPI will be void if your account falls into arrears, now you'd think that the banks would terminate the PPI automatically..........

    Do they heck!

If you haven't cancelled PPI already when entering into a DMP, do so!!!

Egg reimbursed me £1500 for PPI on my credit card due this T&C, oddly though they refuse to do the same for my Egg loan?!?!?

Just to confirm what others have said. Lloyds have a total inability to read letters.

Do send them recorded though as you'll be able to check online to get proof of receipt. All mine have been signed for with readable signatures.

The attitude changes considerably if you phone them and can quote who signed for your letters. As soon as I quoted the name, they miraculously started showing up on the system and Lloyds have been well behaved since.

also with Lloyds, if you get someone unhelpful on the phone (assuming you want to speak to them) - Keep phoning until you get someone good - They do have people that will help, they just take a bit of finding!

  • Hi all,

From what I can gather here, Payplan and CCCS are about equal for customer service. They both seem supportive and switched on.

I would now suggest that anyone with a NR together mortgage (where some of the loan is unsecured) goes with Payplan.

I spoke with payplan today and they say that since NR always come in with all guns blazing and go for CCJ and Charging order, Payplan treat the unsecured part of the loan as if it were secured and therefore leave it out of the DMP. Going down this route and leaving the NR payments as they always were means that NR don't get upset.

Other than that, I wouldn't care how the money got split between the creditors but as stated by others, Payplan work on the basis of amount owed rather than contractual payment.

So... now I have to go off and do all the figures again with Payplan.

    Andy.

p.s. I phoned EGG on Friday and they were fine. The woman I spoke to said that they were about to go out to debt collectors but since I had made contact and was in the process of sorting out, she would put a hold on it. She also said that interest is always stopped once the DMP starts.

    Thanks Andy

Was just about to send my letter to NR about splitting my Together mortgage. CCCS have been really helpful, and initially I had excluded the unsecured loan on the mortgage.

However, will speak to payplan today to find out their advise. To me personally, it just makes no sense that an unsecured part of my overall mortgage had to be put onto the CCCS plan. I can understand why NR will go for a charging order on my house. It's just I'll get a CCJ in the process (not sure how many I will end with).

    Hi All

Just another update, we now have received 3 acceptances :j . They are all small debts but still great news.

Due to make 1st DMP payment end of this week at Post Office, we are paying £475. Does anyone know how much extra we will pay the post office.

I have received alot of phone calls last week from Halifax and Lloyds TSB (we have CC, Loan and overdraft with TSB), they are saying they have not received anything from CCCS, but when I rang CCCS they advised that they sent the paperwork on 3rd June so the creditors need to give it 4 weeks ! Not sure what to do as feel that I am in the middle.

    Anyone else had this ?

Wonder if anyone can clarify something. It seems that a few of you have had acceptance letters already, and your first DMP payment is being made this / next week.

I am due to make my first payment to Payplan on Monday. They have told me they can not send my SOA to creditors until the payment has been received. Obviously without the SOA my creditors are not in a position to agree / accept anything.

Have I got this right? Just a bit confussed.com!!!!

    Thanks Guys

Hi gys me again, sister has her interview with CCCS tomorrow morning and she's throwing lots of questions at me which I can't answer. With PayPlan she had to have £100 disposable income every month so that they could help her set up her DMP, is there a limit with CCCS?

    Does anyone know?

    Hi Angel Cake,

I'm with Payplan aswell. As soon as I'd returned the documents they wrote to all my creditors with my authority for them to act. However they didn't write with an offer of payment until my first payment had been made.

I didn't get anyone accepting my DMP until after the 2nd payment, then they all came in a rush just before the 3rd.

    Hi all,
I have been on DMP for 6 months now and recently needed a new car as ours had died on us!!

CCCS informed us that they would let creditors know our payments had to reduce (£150 per month ouch!) but I decided to also write to them all and explain our change is circumstances and thanked them for their patience. Sent them all recorded delivery and kept my fingers crossed that they wouldn't all kick off!

Well I have been amazed - Northern Rock, Barclaycard, MBNA and even our biggest hassle Halifax have all accepted our reduced payments without any nasty letters etc.

So just from personal opinion, the 'being polite' tact and keeping creditors informed has really worked for us. Hope some of you have similar good news!!

Tinkerbell, can I ask who you got finance with for your car?

I'm really worried about mine, it's drinking oil and making a funny noise  . It's going to the car hospital soon but if it's terminal I don't know what I'm going to do  .

    Thanks,
    Sam,
