Hi d_brat81,
Yes i agree they are the only creditor (out of 8!):o that have contuied intrest. I had a advantage gold account as well and payed £6 a month I think for the pleasure:mad: when i started my DMP Playplan said to write them a letter about it and then it stopped. Think it took a phone call as well. I had an overdraft credit card and loan they put all the debt together. what really annoys me is they are the ones that didnt help my situation in the first place!
I was struggleing with meeting minimum payments on credits cards so went in and saw my bank manager asking for help and what i could do. they gave me a great big fat loan to pay everything off, and as i'm sure you all know how it goes... started struggling again and used credit cards AGAINso i had a waking big £25k plus 8 credit cards on top topay! dont get me wrong I should not have used the credit cards but i sold cars for a living and sales were down so commision was rubbish (£600 TAKE HOME a month some months) so i used the cards to live.
I just really would have liked Natwest to have sat me down and talked to me about how to manage my money, not just give me more! to top this all off my step dad is an ex bank manager for Natwest (he retired years ago now) he got me that account when i was 8 years old he said back in his day he did sit people down and helped them - now its just about selling not helping the customer.
Only good thing is they gave me payment protection on the loan that i have claimed back and got 3k plus the debt left has been reduced to the amout it would have been without it! Im in the process of reclaiming bank charges with them as well (5k) but on hold.
gosh look at me baberling on! sorry just felt like saying all that - get it off my chest.
I HATE NATWEST!!!!
We went to them in the initial stages as well and they did not offer us a loan but suggests us taking a loan stating there was nothing they could do!!
The debt with them is 2200 and this is purely overdraft interest and advantage gold charges....
I am so sick of it and despite all my efforts I cannot see a light at the end of the tunnel!!
Dh and I have split as a result as wellas he was way too laid back and I was the one dealing with everything and stressing!!

Just thought i would add i have been on my DMP for just over a year now and Capitial one have just decided to default me! How bloody annoying that i now have 6 years starting from now to have a clear credit file!! and that is only if no others default in the meantime!
Hi, do u mind if i ask how much u owed and how much u paid them on the dmp?? Just that I also have them as a creditor, i owe 500 and pay 6 a month , if this is what is going to happen after a year i might just stop payments totally now to hurry a default along rather than get one a year from now

xgingerx and Worrygirl, just another example of how inconsistent these creditors are.
I have been on a DMP for just over 2 months now, I made token payments of £1 for 2 months whilst it was being set up. Capital One defaulted me around 3 months in.
I owe just over £3k and paying them around £16 per month. There seems to be no ryme or reason as to when or why they default !!DMP Mutal Support thread No 193

Hi All,
You may already know, we're starting our DMP this month, first payment made to CCCS yesterday :j:j:j
We've received today letters from MBNA (3 x CC's with them) all saying DMP payment offer too low, can we up it by X (equivalent to 2 and half times more) then we can hold off a default. If unable to, they will default the account (very soon) and pass to a 3rd party.
From what I've read from you guys, this is what we want isn't it?
Tesco have automatically defaulted me. Have to say, the letters from both were not bullish at all, actually quite gently put.
We have 13 accounts in total  I think around 11 creditors, although I haven't double checked how many are backed by the same people?
Quite a few haven't responded yet, but it's still early days....
Thanks,

Hi Murraymint, MBNA rejected both mine too with similar letters. However, the next MBNA statement recd had zero interest and zero for next month ??
Still waiting for the other MBNA statement.
From what I gather from Payplan, MBNA have quite strict guidelines of what they will accept and for how long. PP said that usually if they sell the debt on, these people are usally easier to deal with.
Do not up your offer with MBNA, let it take its course.
Keep us all updated xDMP Mutal Support thread No 193

Lodge, your SOA looks fine. You could probably get your house insurance for less when it comes up for renewal. I pay £10.50 through Direct Line and thats for buildings and contents. I would write to your creditors asking them to suspend interest. There was a letter kicking about on here yesterday I think it was that you could use.
Hi.
Three of my creditors are charging interest: Llloyds TSB Credit Card, Goldfish (Marbles) and Co-Op Credit Card.
I've written to them to say I think interest should be stopped in the circumstances.....
Co-Op wrote today saying interest was now stopped!! Yippee!!
Don't hold out much hope with Goldfish (Marbles) & Lloyds TSB Credit Card....??0 -
Hey all. People seem to be doing well!
I start my dmp 1st October (so pleased!) and have got all my proofs of earnings, all my recent letters/statements from creditors withsort codes etc together and signed everything, ready to go off to cccs tomorrow. I'm ashamed to say it ook me ages to sort it out because although Ive kept all letters and statements sent through, I couldnt for the life of me work out which DCA went with which bloody creditor! Lol. Be glad to get it all started!MSE-ing since 20070 -
