  • hi, we are new to the forums, dh and i are in the process of setting a low start dmp with cccs and i am scared to death!!!!

i have written to all creditors using cccs template letter and asked them also tp only contact me in writing, half have ignored me and are still harrassing me 8am-8pm daily, including sundays, the other half have written back saying they will come to an arrangement with me not cccs, aaarrggg.

i also have two doorstep dca, mithering me and refusing to stop calling when cccs have set up dmp.

scared to answer phone, open door, open mail.

technically, we are only 3 weeks late in all creditors and have never had a prob before but they dont care about our circumstances.

in a nut shell, ds2 born in march with disability, on maternity leave nd got made redundant, was foster carers ut due to ds2 being born had to make him a priority

dla and carers allowance will offset maternity allowance but have still lost income to the tune of £200 a week!!!

husband also had a lot of time off when ds2 was born and having surgery etc etc.

sorry for long post, dont even know if im posting in the right thread or not but needed to have a rant, maybe tonight i will actually get to sleep before the kids wake up at 5am (aged 8, 2 and 5 months)

    Evening all!!

Just a quick question - we will have been on our DMP for a year at the end of September and were wondering if anything different will happen or if our creditors will be happy staying as things are now? Anyone been in this situation who could give us some advice as our DMP has been going smoothly for the last 12 months (beginning a bit rocky but ok now!!) except our budget is getting very tight!!

Thanks for all you help and advice especially those who helped us with all our questions at the beginning - can't believe thats a year up already - just another 15 to go!!!

    Weemac

Sounds af if you are finding things a bit tight. Join the club. I am about to go to Payplan as I am struggling really to make Dmp payments and live. Everything has gone up and I need to think of me and not my creditors and re think my budget. The Idea of a Dmp is to pay off your debts an still have enough to feed your family and pay the bills.

Time for me too not worry about upseting my creditors just to keep the peace and pay my debts and still provide for my family.

Think they will be Ok what with everything increasing in price . I did not allow for that in my original SOA with Payplan

Nice to hear from you again by the way :T

  • I was wondering about Rayday too and also Newlywed. Hope they are both ok.

Weemac, I'm 18 months in. You should find the DMP ticks along as always. You may get the odd creditor offering a full and final settlement figure or asking if you can pay more. You just refuse and they will ask you to get CCCS or whoever your DMP provider is to send them an updated proposal. They then crawl back into their shell again.

Sarriep, just send them £1 each. It is all scary now but it will get easier.

Owenmonicapeter, hello and welcome. It will all calm down soon. Once CCCS get on the case your creditors will soon realise they will have to put up or shut up. They will stop ringing. In the meantime can you change your phone number? Also with the doorstep collectors there will be no real point in them coming to the door if they are getting payment from CCCS so hopefully you'll have shot of them soon too.

I think I seen you before in the bank charges forum. Did you have any success with that?
  • we sent a letter to halifax requesting them to settle due to our financial situation, havnt heard back yet

trying to change number but sky are being difficult

  • Hello all

We're about to start on a DMP with CCCS. I clicked on the "choose DMP" button on their website thinking we'd get paperwork and a phone call/time to think about the amounts etc - but the wheels were rushed into motion and offers have already been made to our creditors. I'm a bit scared really. What if I miscalculated and we can't manage? Just after some reassurance that others are coping. Thanks.

Hi Forgetmenot68, start a new thread on here with your SOA if you want, I'm sure we can save you a bit of money so things won't be so tight.
Most people do either six month or yearly reviews and you can review any time things get too tight so don't panic :)
