Hi, im with cccs and I did one, once i did it i just zero'd the balance on the internet and then the following month, it was removed from my creditor list.

Could you tell me if you asked CCCS if you could do this first? It's just that when I emailed CCCS to ask about F & F offers, they said I should phone them first to discuss it.

I have a lump sum of about £11,000 which I was hoping to make offers with. I have been with CCCS since beginning of 2006. Originally I was in a joint DMP with my husband but he died suddenly in June. My part of the DMP still stands at £43,000. This is a huge amount (total was £84000) and I am off sick and will be for a considerable time as I struggle to come to terms with my DH's death.
I have a pension, sickness benefit, bereavement allowance and half of my DH's pension so I am very lucky compared with many people.
My total income is about £1200 while off sick with a surplus of £205.
When I get back to work my income will rise to about £1600 but the bereavement allowance will cease in May 2009. Going back to work is months away with the way I feel at the moment.

I have CCA'd 2 of my creditors and have had no reply as yet and they are now way out of time. Following advice on the CAG forums, I have now left these accounts on the back burner as they may have unenforceable agreements.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to get out of paying what I owe but I blame the worry about our debt as one of the root causes of my husband's tragic death. I want to try and get the best settlement I can and try to move on because life seems pointless at the moment and worrying about money is something I could do without.

I do apologise for rabbiting :o

Good morning all -just a general query. Has anyone on the forum ever heard of or had any dealings with a company called Myvesta UK. As far as I know they are a debt management fee paying company. Just curious regarding what sort of service they provided. Thank you.

Hi, do u mind if i ask how much u owed and how much u paid them on the dmp?? Just that I also have them as a creditor, i owe 500 and pay 6 a month , if this is what is going to happen after a year i might just stop payments totally now to hurry a default along rather than get one a year from now

    thks

    Hello Yes no problem

I pay £8.29 and have approx £900 left been doing it a year now. (this was one of my lower amounts on cc's) :o i agree i wish i got all the defaults at the begining. I should have not been so keen to pay then nicely at the begining so they would default then!

Can you make a F&F offer to just one creditor whilst your on a DMP?

    Hello

I dont think so no, you have to treat all creditiors the same while on a DMP. you would have to split the money you have saved between all of them. Im 99% sure anyway.

    Good luck !

Never heard of them. All I would say is that if you are in a position where you need to enter a Debt Management Plan, DO NOT go to a company which will charge you money.

Go to Consumer Credit Counselling Service (www.cccs.co.uk) or Payplan (www.payplan.co.uk) They offer a complete debt management service for free. That way, all your spare pennies go to pay off your debt. Both of these organisations give good advice and are completely on YOUR side.

Any fee paying company is a waste of money and makes your debt free date further away.

Andy thanks for your comments. I've been on the self managed DMP route for the past 2 years. I've checked this companys web site and they offer legal facilities in the event of being taken to court for ccj or charging order. However, you pay for this due to paying a fee out of your monthly disposable income. You're correct I'd would take much longer to pay off.

I have had my DMP review with CCCS and my monthly DMP payment has been reduced from £418 to £82 as I am off work sick.
I asked the counsellor about F & F offers and she said I could deal with these as I wished.
Could either make offers to everyone or clear off my smaller debts first with the lump sum I have to play with.
I will have to have a think about what to do.
I have CCA'd 2 creditors and may do more but I don't want to rock the boat.

Hi everyone. I'm very interested in this conversation about final payments. I have a few of my debts which are now out of the DMP because they are all credit/store cards and the amount I pay is over the minimum amount requested each month. Of these, one is asking for 35% interest but the balance is only £150 (ish). I'm paying just under £6 per month, and nearly £3 is going on in interest.

I have loads of debt, but am also receiving a temporary allowance from work. My thought is to pay off the high interest debt with the allowance, but I'm worried that my other creditors might see it as favouring that creditor when it's paid off. I think I'll just have to wait to see what other advise people offer regarding paying one creditor.

On a funnier note.... I wrote to all my creditors in mid June, advising them that I can increase my payments slightly. All of them have either written agreeing to the payment, or have just taken the money. One however, is still making it's mind up! Two weeks after sending the letter increasing the amount I pay them, they wrote and asked me to call them. I did, and they advised me that the account is now off the DMP, but that I should send my bank statement and pay slip (which I did). Two weeks later they wrote and asked me for a breakdown of the creditors and how much I'm offering them. I replied, copying them the original letter and income/expenditure form.

I've just received a letter telling me that they're unable to help with my request, because I didn't sign my letter, and could I send another. I find this really funny, but hubby is not very amused. It doesn't bother me because I'm still paying them while they're playing games. They really need to sort themselves out. Oh well!

    hello all

just came on to check on everyone and it seems we are all doing great, even though the companies we are paying are sometimes playing silly !!!!!!s

im kind of interested in the full and final settlements too, but am in the process of cca all my creditors one by one.

i didnt think that you could pay one off only without offering a fair share of the amount to all the others.

so i will wait for all the cca;s to arrive or not, then make the next point of attack

anyway everyone have a good weekend
have fun ciao for now MAZ
