  • Hi Guys and welcome Magenta........

I have 2 CC with NatWest and both have accepted the DMP.
However, recd a statement from them today and they are still charging interest at 6 times more than I am actually paying them per month:mad: , they are also added on over limit fee and also late payment fees as the money from payplan gets to the account a few days after their due date  .

Firstly, anyone had any dealings with natwest and did they get charged interest.

How do I go about asking them to stop, should I send a letter or should this go through Payplan?

I thought Payplan sorted out due dates? What sould I do about this?

This makes me so angry, how on earth does this make any sense at all!??? This is not helping in any why shape or form!!! Greedy robbing so and sos!!!!!!!

    Help gratefully recevied xx

As far as I'm aware the due dates stay the same as before, but not sure if you can change it with the creditor. The alternative is to change your date with payplan. For example, I think it takes 5 days to clear a standing order with PayPlan then prob allow another 3 days for them to pay the creditors.

    I could be wrong tho.

  • Angel Cake, we have a NW CC and they were adding extortionate amounts of interest. I sent them an official letter of complaint and they have ceased adding interest/late payment fee.

I also questioned the late payment fee and they have told me that once the debt is passed to the collection's department (after NW have issued a Default), this fee will stop being added as basically the account is closed.

    :)

    Hi, hope all are well.

I have had a bank charges reclaim in with Lloyds TSB for over a year and its in the pending pile. After reading the financial hardship criteria I sent them my I&E from CCCS which included the ominous comment - includes xx towards mortgage arrears, and xx towards Council Tax arrears, and asked them to consider as a hardship case. Today I received a letter saying they would review my case. Maybe good news!
Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

  • Magenta how are you today?

Angel Cake, you should get this sorted. CCCS pay every creditor in the world on 25th of the month. At first that was an issue with some of my creditors but they soon shut up.

Gilligan, that sounds good. I hope it all goes well for you. Believe me there is nothing like the satisfaction of these sharks repaying charges.
  • Hi Ex Spend - just called Payplan, they said all the creditors are told the date of payment - some forget to put this on the account. PP said they will remind them and I can try and claim back.
With regards the interest still being charged. PP said Natwest do not freeze interest until the account in terminated. My account was only terminated 10 days ago, therefore, statement may have crossed. Hopefully the interest will stop next month!
    Thanks for everyones help x

  • Oh thats good Angel Cake. Looks like it will all be sorted shortly.

Remember my debacle with the Halifax and the charges I posted last night. Well I phoned today to ask about the payment. The long and short of it is I claimed £2600 and they sent me a letter saying they would pay £1295. There was nothing there to say that I could pursue the other half or whatever. So I phoned and asked. To cut a very long story short, it seems the person working on the claim, made a mistake. The girl told me that I was getting 6 years charges back and couldn't get any more. I told her I wasn't getting 6 bank charges only half of them. She then asked where I got my charges info. I said they provided it. :rotfl: So they said they would ring back. Half an hour later another person rang me back and said they had looked at it and the original person dealing with the claim (who is on holiday this week) had miscalculated. :rotfl: So they have asked the other department for a list of charges again. They said this would take 24 hours but they have marked it urgent to try to rush it through. They are going to phone me tomorrow or Thursday with a new offer. I'm hoping I'm going to get the lot back now. Just goes to show that its worth querying things.

i have just worked out our offers to our creditors.

we have £72.68 spare per month
    n rock 30346.73 = £63.77 (should be 340)
    hfc 4237.91 = £8.91 (should be 150)

is it set in stone when trying to offer reduced payments to work the amount out according to the debt owed?
i was just thinking that i would prefer to pay n rock say £50 and hfc the extra bit more so it gets paid quicker. im guessing they may see it as being treated unfairly?

the payments are allot less than what they sould be, what are our chances do you think? to be honest thats all we have anyway!

    thanks :o
  • Well Missy, if you don't have it then they can't have it. What about offering the amounts you have stated. There is only £13.77 or something like that difference in what you would like to ideally do. You could raise that money fairly easily by upping your income. You could sell junk on ebay, do mystery shopping etc.

Have a look at the Up Your Income board for ideas.
