Ex-Spendaholic wrote: »Milliejon, I would write to them all asking them to stop interest. If you don't get it done that way then I would go with CCCS or someone. Don't worry about DCAs. Once debts go to DCAs interest generally stops and as long as you are making payments you don't hear from them. Oh and they can ask all they want to see your bank statement. You don't have to give it to them. You owe them money nothing else so don't feel pressured into these things.
Thank you Ex-Spendaholic. Unfortunately, I won't be able to ask them to stop the charges. They have stopped them for the past 3 years or so, but now the pro-rata amount is more than the minimum payment on the accounts they've taken me off arrangement and now I have a normal credit account with them.
You're right - thankfully the DCAs are not a problem once I negotiate an amount with them. They are not entitled to see your bank statements at all even courts don't ask to see them all the time.
Just send them another I&E sheet.
Thank you Rayday. I didn't realise this. Only Capital One ask to see my bank statement and my pay slip so that they have proof that I'm getting what I say, and am paying out what I say I am. Actually, I remember that once I had to send them a copy of all the statements from the other creditors. How could I get out of sending them this stuff when they specifically ask for it? I don't want to appear difficult as I want them to agree to what I'm asking.
If I can manage to not send them a bank statement, does anyone have any thoughts about my original post: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=13528435&postcount=1790DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -
Hi Angel cake
I have HSBC CC as one of my many creditors. They initially accepted the payment offered via CCCS (worked out to about 50% of the contractual payment) and reduced interest on the basis that they would review it again in 4 months. Now that the four months have lapsed they have requested payments that are 15% higher. I have submitted an updated income and expenditure statement but they have refused to accept the payments as they stand. I spoke with them yesterday and they have agreed to "park" my account for 2 months during which time they will freeze charges and interest. As I have been made redundant it seems that the hope is that in the 2 months I will find an amazingly high paid job and be able to pay them whatever they demand! HSBC are my biggest creditor- loan and overdraft as well as CC and so far they are the trickiest (touch wood!). On the upside I would say that their staff have generally been quite helpful- best to speak to them during the day as their indian and american call centres have some staff with very interesting attitudes! Not sure if this helps at all but just gives you a flavour of my experience with HSBC. Let me know how you get on. CF xx0 -
GE money were awful with me at the first I was really worried but they were the first to accept a bit all bark no bite. Within two months they had stopped interest and accepted. They did quickly pass it onto a DCA CL Finance who have been fantastic.
Same for me - they kept ringing me every day and I kept answering and telling them about CCCS and they confirmed they had it on file. Eventually I got someone who said the other people should have set a "flag" on the system so that I wasn't called for a few weeks - to give CCCS a chance to send papers. When that person actually flagged my account - no calls
But their departments don't talk to each other so if one department says they refuse the dmp, one says they accept and then another says refuse - don't panic - it's probably been accepted
Mint were one of mine - took them about 4 months to default me and stop interest - looking at others' experiences it seems this is about normal for them so just wait out for a few monthsworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
milliejon - took this from national debtline site:
l Creditors may ask you to fill in their own budgeting form
instead.Ask them to accept your own personal budget as
this has all the information they need. They may also ask for
extra information or ‘proof’ such as wage slips or letters
from other creditors. You may want to help with reasonable
requests but if the creditor wants proof of all your bills,
point out this would not be asked for by the court.Contact us for advice.association.
Contact us if you feel a creditor is acting unreasonably and
we may be able to put you in touch with their trade
As it says there budget sheet has all the information they need, I would send the creditor another copy of it and tell them you have sought advice from the National Debtline (check on their site see if the company you are dealing with support them - if they do point out they do!) and are following their guidelines and supplying the information required. Personally I think it is an invastion of your privacy to supply more and would put that. I think in one of my letters I pointed the courts would not request further information.

I have 2 accounts with GE. They were a nightmare. They used to send me a letter everyday on each account and phone loads too. Once it went to CL Finance I never heard another word. :j
I've just got paid. I can't believe that I have no overdrafts any more. :j0 -
Wish I could say the same my ex hubby does not pay so often now he has a girlfriend, if I had the money due at the beginning of the week neither would I!
Well done!0 -

Following my DH's death in June, CCCS have put my DMP on hold. I am waiting for an appointment to prepare a new one but they must be very busy as I have not heard anything yet.
I had a snotty letter from BLS Collections (Lloyds TSB) saying that I have not stuck to the terms of the DMP and pay up or else so I have emailed CCCS to tell them.
Stupid thing is, Lloyds wrote to me last week to tell me that DH's debt to them has now been written off and we are on the same DMP reference number so they must know....or am I being too simplistic?
On the advice of CAG forums, I have CCA'd the 2 accounts I have with DCAs (Cabot and Robinson Way) and have had letters back to say these have been requested from the original creditors. I then had letters to say that the original creditors are having problems locating these documents and the DCAs will contact me as soon as they hear anything.0 -
Angel Cake, the complaint was about the interest/charges. They have accepted the DMP (did this ages ago) but are still applying these.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0
