  • Evening all......

just wondered if any of you guys have HSBC CC and Monument CC as creditors?

Payplan have heard nothing from them, we have been defaulted by HSBC last week and up until yesterday no contact whatsoever. However, missed called yesterday and today and I dailled back the number and it says HSBC have called, no further action is required and you do not need to call back !!?? Strange:confused:

Monument have just terminated the CC but nothing at all since......

On the last statement both were still charging interest.

    Has anyone dealt with either?

    Thanks all x

  • Really helpful post toffee, thank you. It should give some hope to those about to start on their dmp journeys.

We had a letter in response to our complaint with Barclaycard. Basically, it said they are still investigating and will be in touch again by the 19 September. It sounds to me like they are dragging this out so they can continue the interest and charges as a statement came with the latter added!

So, I'm going to write yet another complaint in response to their letter. This could go on forever!

    :)

I have no idea what I'm talking about!
  • Angel Cake, Monument are part of Barclaycard (I think). Barclaycard were good for me. They stopped interest straight away, accepted the DMP straight away and I never hear from them at all. As a thank you I claimed my charges back from them. :rotfl:

Hi Whoopie, what did you complain to BCard about? I sent a complaint to them about a month again re Mercers and harrasement, I gave them 14 days to reply and I have not heard a word. However, they did accept the DMP and froze interest a couple of weeks later.

Cheers too Toffee, waiting for my first payment on DMP, haven't communicated at all yet with my creditors, except to give token payments. MBNA are doing their ring on the hour, every hour (to my home phone), think they've left one automated message.

So I guess it's best to send letters off to each one explaining the situation, or just wait until I receive a letter from them?

I've written to mine and will write again to thank them when they agree to the DMP or to encourage them if they don't. ;) I think being polite can't hurt when you're after their support. i think being proactive is also a good plan, I had managed to make all my payments in full (thanks to increasingly large payday loans) up to July and then when I knew I couldn't keep doing it, I wrote to them all before any payments were late so hopefully they will look favourable on my case.

GE money were awful with me at the first I was really worried but they were the first to accept a bit all bark no bite. Within two months they had stopped interest and accepted. They did quickly pass it onto a DCA CL Finance who have been fantastic.
  • Hi all

I have been AWOL for over 2 weeks (as well as the big debts am saddled with the boss from hell and have been out of the house for 14-16 hours a day, coming home and falling into bed)Just been catching up with all the posts I have missed (a lot!!!) and just wanted to say a quick hello and welcome to all the new members and that it's good to see the familiar names...

I FINALLY managed to open a new account (had done so online but took a month so went in person to a rival bank and opened one there and then), my salary will go in at the end of this month.

CCCS were BRILLIANT but I decided like rayday and others to go for the 'self administered DMP'... the initial letters have been sent out, I made token payments this month, I have worked out my pro rata payments and set up the standing orders from my new account.

I am now in that quiet time before the storm begins I think! But I am absolutely not going to back down to any of them...

Strong words, which I may need reminding of in a few weeks..., but I am much more realistic about all this. Being in debt is not illegal, I haven't done anything really nasty and I am sorting this out. It's a practical problem and we are all working on practical solutions to it... and that's it.

    Night everyone.... x
