Seems like a lot of you are doing your own DMP's on here, it must take a lot of b***s to do that. Are Payplan ok to deal with, I've just had a message from them that they've contacted all my creditors with my payment details

    What's a PMSL?
  • Thanks Ex-Spend and Gimmzie - I will look at the link - that makes things a lot clearer!!

Murraymint - Do not call them - complete standard letter - I got one too. Let CCCS deal with them.

Ardan - I am with PP - the have been great so far. I also go a text message and email from them when they contacted my creditors with I/E and payment details. My creditors began to accept the DMP within a couple of weeks (still a couple to go though)

Thanks Angel Cake. Do they hassle you with calls even though PP are negotiating on your behalf?
  • Hi Ardan, first couple of months whilst I was making token payments was a bit hairy, had quiet a few calls. However, I just quoted the payplan ref number and this seemed to do the trick.

However, I did get lots of letters and have picked up some defaults along the way.

Without tempting fate (touching wood) the last 2 weeks have been very quiet, no calls at all. I have made 2 payment via Payplan to date, so still early days.

I have had 9 accepted and still waiting to hear from 3.

If I ever get horrible calls of nasty letters, I call Payplan and they are always helpful and supportive, same as all the guys on here.

Thanks again Angel Cake, I'm sure it's better worrying about a few phone calls rather than worrying about sinking fast in debt. Just a bit unnerving.

  • Hi all

Had a good read through the thread but still a bit confused as to what happens now.

I contacted CCCS via their website last week, they recomended a DMP, I received the DMP paeprwork yesterday with the forms to send to my creditors and details about setting up a new account etc.

So far I have not had an "interview" or spoken in person to anyone at CCCS, as many others seem to have had. Have I still go to have this, or have they accepted me for a DMP (I have a client number) and I jst need to send of the paeprwork and thats it?

I'm going to the co-op today to open a basic account and will then be going online to cancel direct debits to all my creditors, don't want to do any of this if they haven't officially accepted me, if that makes sense.

    Many thanks for any help

  • Murraymint, MBNA our DMP months ago but they still send all manner of letters requesting additional money and asking us to telephone them. We respond IN WRITING, explaining we are on a debt management plan and they are getting all we can afford each month.

I would suggest you write to them (don't ring) explaining the situation, then pass the letter to CCCS.

    :)
