  • Hello again, my god you lot chat! last time I was here it was only on page 70 something :D

I have had another letter from Capital One charging me PPI, a letter going in the post telling them to 'op it, I cancelled it so you need to do some refunding I think Mr Capital One!. Lloyds made me laugh, sent me a letter today telling me that my account with them was obviously a low priority as I hadn't phoned them and let them bully me into making a payment more than I can afford!! If I don't contact them then this could have serious, yes serious consequences, oh yeah like what? a default? my credit rating is shot to bits anyway, take legal action? well now I know it doesn't involve baliffs breaking my front door down at 4 in the morning in front of the neighbours then I feel able to deal with court.

But I want to thank each and every one of you who will probably always remain faceless for giving me the strength and courage to feel like this. I couldn't have done it without you.

DMP from 1st October, assuming theyre happy with my paperwork etc.
SO happy, its cut my dfd down to 14 years rather than the 29 it would have been if I'd continued with £1 token payments lol!

So many of us have been in that exact same situation. I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't found the people on here ;) They say knowledge is power :D

Nicki_Sue - glad things are working out for you I've been with CCCS for over a year and think they are great - wouldn't have had the courage to do a DMP myself back at the start, and still don't know if I'd have the self-control and strength to do it now :o

  • Hi Everyone,

Havent been around for a week or so, Iv been up to my eyes in it, Just been catching up on the thread< i have missed out on so much...!!!

I have made my first payment to pp on 2st August so am just waiting for acceptance or declined letters from my creditors, Im sitting tight.

Can anyone tell me what a "Statutory notice" is...???

Also on the documentation link on the justabank account, pp say that after an account has been settled or cleared you can have your default take off the file, has anyone heard of this?....I was under the impression that it stays on your account for 6 years???

I didn't think you could have it taken off your file, but you can have it marked as "settled" to show that it's all paid up

Hi everyone :hello:, just popped in to see how everyone was doing and it's taken me ages to catch up on all the posts.

Nice to see all the newbies getting sorted out and starting to sound more confident and optimistic. The regulars on here do a fantastic job with advice and support :T .

We're almost a year into our DMP and looking back to this time last year when I was having nightmares about baillifs and repossesion and public humiliation I realise we've come a long way. Due to OH's wages being cut (building trade) we are having to reduce our DMP from September so I may receive a few phonecalls again but with all the fab information I have gained from this thread I am ready to face them and will simply sing the DMP anthem down the phone....

:whistle:THEY CANNOT HAVE WHAT I HAVE NOT GOT

Good luck to all those starting out, it's the best thing you'll ever do :j . Huge thanks to all those whose posts have given me strength, even those of us who don't post often read and learn and gain so much from you all :T .

    Love,
    Sam,

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

I'm just going through all my CCCS paperwork and debtors statements and thought it might help people starting out if I list who have stopped interest and charges in my plan (made 3 payments to CCCS so far).

Empirestores- sold on my debt after adding on a few charges and now the debt agency have stopped charges, not agreed to the dmp either though!

First Direct overdraft and credit card- interest reduced to 6.9% (better than nothing) This company have been fantastic since day one of my dmp.

Alliance and Leicester Credit card - charged late fees etc for 2 months and interest and charges stopped.

Marks & Spencer card - Interest and charges stopped but threatening default all the time.

Argos store card - Interest and charges stopped after 1 month

Next - Charges and interest stopped straight away

Morgan Stanley card - After one month reduced interest rate and stopped late fees etc.

I will add any others on as the statements come through so newbies know what to expect from companies.

Halifax, Tesco, Egg, Barclaycard, Argos additions, Intelligent Finance and Marbles not even acknowledged dmp yet and constantly adding charges to my accounts.

The only people that hounded me with phonecalls was Halifax but that's stopped now too.

    Hope that helps someone
