Hi Ray -no I haven't thought of that. I know there are some example letters on this site so I think I'll just do that. It gets very awkward especially at work having to go through their list of security questions. I will include on my letter to them that I'm not permitted to receive phone calls in my workplace as it's a public office and I'll also change my mobile number. I usually only get texts and calls from about 5 people including them so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle!0

Sounds like a plan, if you tell them you could end up with a disciplinary they have to take you seriously. My husband told Lloyds that on the phone a the beginning we forgot we put his work number on an application and to their credit they did never contact us again via phone.0

Mornin everyone,
My 2nd payment has been made to Payplan and (fingers crossed) everything has been a lot better than I expected so far.
I have had some reasonably good news over the past few days (brought by the usually dreaded postman), thro' Payplan, Morgan Stanley have accepted the offer and are not charging interest, Goldfish have also accepted and are charging reduced rate (3%) interest, Barclaycard and Halifax have accepted and on the statements no charges or interest have been added.
A couple have been handed over to DCA's and I am waiting to see what the others do.
The relief is tremendous, my husband is even telling me now when I have 'fanmail'.
Thanks to all of you who rally round and encourage us newbies, you really do get us through and make us see there is light at the end of the tunnel, it really means a lot. xxxxxx0 -
I am glad to hear its working out for you, it is my secret worry someday someone will say why did you encourage it!
All of us can only really comment on what we experience and some may have rougher journeys but it is nice however rough your journey is to be able to afford to live again.0 -
Ianmak, never worry about it. It is only numbers - money and dates. What is important is that you are getting your life back. Soon you will be able to think of it all as just one debt that goes by standing order on one day of the month. I just think of things as a debt with CCCS (even though it isn't) and one payment. I make sure that payment goes each month then I forget about it. Very soon you won't be getting phone calls, you won't be getting letters and you'll want to find something else to do obsess about like claiming back charges.
Kpwll, great news. :beer:0 -
Please don't worry, by the time most of us find ourselves in this position, I think we don't trust our own judgement and need someone (lots of someones) who has been, and is still, going through it to show us the possibilities and positives.
I am very grateful for the support and advice given.0 -
Well, the phone isnt due to ring until 3.15pm. So I'm twiddling my thumbs now. I really hope it goes ok. Any chance I'll be told today whether I can do a dmp or will I have to wait?
*Thanks to you lovelies who wished me luck*

Hi Nicki Sue,
Good luck today, I can promise you that CCCS will look after you if they possibly can and I'm sure that they'll tell you straight away if they can help.
Let us know as soon as you can how you get on xDMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110 -
Nikkisue, I can't see any reason why they couldn't let you have a DMP.
Just had a letter from Egg. They don't want to give me back my charges as they were fair and square etc etc. So letter 2 is going straight back out in the post to them. :rotfl:0 -
