  • Hi

Please can someone tell me if the creditors will accept colour photocopies of my proposed DMP or do I have to write out all all 10 of them by hand?

All ready to post off now, if anyone thinks I ought to post it here first for a look over I can do that and mail it tomorrow (missed last post anyway for tonight I think).
Back in a bit to check replies - off to the shop for some dinner :o .
    Many thanks.

Ianmak, hello and welcome. Well done on taking your first steps to sorting your situation. We are all here for you and we have all been where you are. So any questions just shout. I wouldn't worry that the loan payment has gone. The loan company will not be getting another one so I don't think the creditors have much to shout about.

Well I was very  today. I got a call from work today (I'm off on maternity leave). They were getting automated calls all day saying if you are "my name" press 1. My colleague informed me that she pressed 2 instead and was able to tell me it was CSL. How pleased am I that this sort of thing is now known in my work? Anyway I phoned CSL - they hold my Egg debt. I told them to get that number off and never ever to use it again. Why were they ringing me? Oh just to see how I was? They wanted to check I was still with CCCS and to see if my circumstances had changed. I told them they hadn't changed other than my work colleagues now know I'm in debt. So she told me that they just wanted to get a review proposal in from CCCS. I've emailed CCCS about this.

Photocopies will do. Make sure you don't reveal all your account numbers to all of the creditors. For example, Lloyds needs to know is your Lloyds account number and the names and balances of your other debts - not the account numbers.

Glad to see your posts so positive now.
  • Hi Andy2names

Many thanks you saved me writers cramp ;)

Yes feeling positive but also quite scary really as I have previously kept up payments on the loans at least and now I am just offering £1 token payments to loans that up till now have been kept up to date with not much concern, its the credit cards that have been the difficulty.

I also have no idea how I can feed me, hubby and 2 dogs on £144 a MONTH! :T Well at least I will have a good chance of a bit more on the £ for lb challenge :rotfl:

Thanks everybody for all the help so far.

I can just sit and wait now

  • Hi All,

I'd love to join the DMP Support Thread please? We're in the process of starting a DMP with CCCS, after an elongated LBM, which started after Xmas and involved head in and out of the sand a few times before hitting ground zero! :o

I'm now terrified and excited. Energised and exhausted. Not sleeping very well, but looking forward to about 3 months ahead from now, when hopefully things should start ticking over.

My DH is having difficulty coming to terms with this, he also swings up and down, but he needs me to deal with the DMP stuff (opening new account, writing letters etc). So he is throwing himself into work and he will also be the one to field all the phone calls! Although if it gets too bad I will change my number without a doubt.

I have been lurking very regularly, so feel like I know you all a little bit anyway (sorry for that, am not really a stalker).

Ahhh, now that feels better (joining the group that is!) :D

    Hi MurrayMint -welcome.

Any specific issues you need help with - just ask away - sure someone will be able to help with most things :D

When you make your first payment to CCCS it will feel like a HUGE relief and a big weight off your shoulders - trust me ;)

I'm over one year on and have found CCCS really good and very helpful - they don't judge you and are really nice even when you are sobbing stupidly down the phone coz you can't afford your MOT :o - they sorted me out with a one off reduced DMP payment by the way - so if you do strike problems, just ring them ;)

Little update from the Ossireo House!

I had contacted HSBC to cancel the Standing Order for my loan as at present they are having fun deducting it from my HSBC account, bouncing it and charging me for the pleasure which if course is increasing my debt to them by about £70 a month.

They have today told me that they cannot comply with my request as they have refused to accept CCCS offer *sigh* (btw, much thanks to you guys, prior to being here I probably would have had a nervous breakdown trying to deal with them!)

Is there anything I can do to make them cancel this Standing Order? or do I basically just have to sit back and watch the charges build up and build up?

Hi Ossireo - looking at your signature, you haven't actually started your DMP yet have you?

GE Money wrote to refuse mine when I sent them notification of the DMP. But after they had 2 lots of money on the DMP, they did sort it all out, accept it and stop interest.

So stick with it for a little while, lots of creditors seem to wait for actual DMP payments to be received before they believe you ;) Then they usually do something about it after they realise you are telling them the truth and not porkie pies :D

I have been making payments directly into my loan account for 5 months now though, my main concern is their continual refusal to cancel the standing order.
