Ossireo - you mention earlier that hsbc refuse to cancel the standing order? do you mean direct debit though, as standing orders are set up by you and if you have internet banking available you can go online and should be able to cancel it, but with direct debits of course its the company that has to cancel it.
Hi,
I had a standing order which was set up by the bank and not myself. Also, I was unable to cancel it using online banking as they 1. kept resetting it up and 2. eventually cancelled my online banking as I was behind in my repayments.

Truecall device, stops all the unneccesary phone calls - my sanity has been restored and the peace in the house is truely priceless!:rotfl:0 -
Rugbymum - i agree you should complain about the staff attitude and in writing as a formal complaint they have to send a written investigation within 8 weeks and if you are still not satisfied send to ombudsman and the company get charged about 400 - 450 for the priveledge of you complaining,
that will teach the horrible woman when she gets pulled up in her annual review -oh i wish, horrible people who are just doing a job i guess but you have to be a cold person to do such a job arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
now im composed - just wish you well and dont worry you have friends here to share the load
have a fun day to all too ciao for now mazSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Ghosthunter I have been following your story but have not been able to offer you any advise in any way but wanted to say you seem to be doing well. I sent my letters off a few weeks ago and all i put was that due to higher living costs and having to give up work due to ill health as the reason my circumstances changed. I could have gone into much more detail but left it at that and so far no one has questioned it.
This morining Cap One wrote a letter giving notice of a default being served. Not worried about this at all but they are saying the reason is that we have broken our agreement with Cap One because we are entering into a long term payment plan with them. Now do you think that means Cap One have accepted our DMP. It is OH account and he is at work so can't phone them to find out.
Longforthesun - must be the day for Cap One sending out these letters, I got exactly the same one! To be honest I just saw the word Default and added to my little pile to send off to Payplan, after reading your post, checked and it was exactly the same as yours. Therefore, as you, I hope this means they have accepted our DMP - will keep you updated.
Simbalou - Congrats on the new job - well done !!
Rugbymum - I was shocked to read the way you had been treated this morning - Where on earth do these people get off talking and behaving like this!? I was treated exactly the same way 2 weeks ago by Mercers. These people are all on commission and will say anything, lie, make you cry, threaten, just to get some money. Tell you what, If I did that job, I could not go home and sleep at night - Oh well, suppose it takes all sorts. Something really ought to be done about this type of behaviour!!!! Makes my blood boil :mad:DMP Mutal Support thread No 193

GH - I think you give a bit too much detail in your letter. You could just say that you are on IB and no longer have enough savings or income to carry on paying minimum payments. I would just say that your OH contributes £300 whatever it was - to the household bills and not say that he is working or that it's tax credits or that he's self employed. If you mention he works - they might just want to know all his income and it will complicate things for you.
Keep it simple. Tell them enough - that you haven't got money and are on benefits - but not so much that they start harrassing you
longforthesun - it does sound like they might have accepted - "long payment plan". Sometimes they have to default you to stop interest (think it depends on the bank's inhouse procedures) so hopefully they will stop interest soon too
Hi and thanks Newlywed
Thinking about it I think your right so I am going to re-do them all again tomorrow and get them posted off.
I was wondering if they were likely to question the Working Tax Credits anyway but didnt think to ask that question (silly me).
I will put down hubbys wage as £317.52p maybe that will be enough to stop the his & mine complications.
Another thought I just had was what happens next? As I am doing it through the help of National Debtline (other than all you wonderfull folks on here) will I get continued support from NDL as I would have if I went with CCCS or Payplan or am I 'on my own' and have to deal with it by myself and deal with all the added harrassments?
Such a shame I cant get enough to go through Payplan or CCCS as they look like they offer a buffer zone from creditors.
Well done tofor the new job, bet thats a good weight off your mind.
Rugbymum glad to see your a bit happier.
Keep up the positivity everyone!
Many thanks for your help and advice so far,
 but just to warn you im gonna be around for a long time yet so you dont get rid of me that simply just like bad debt :rotfl:

Just been checking out a savings account and found this in the T&C:8. Money You owe to Us may be taken from any account You have with Us
If You owe Us money on one account, We can claim it from money You have in another account.
8.1 We may use any credit balances on any account You have with Us or with another member of the
Alliance & Leicester Group of companies (or use Your investments with Us) to reduce or repay any money You owe
to Us (that has become immediately repayable) or to pay any tax properly payable. We may do this without notice -
but We will notify You after We have taken this action.
Along with a note to say that they can vary the T&C if A&L deal with another company or ownership of A&L changes, but have to notify you of this - either on website, with statement, etc.
So it looks like if the Abbey and GE money thing goes ahead fully and the A&L thing goes ahead - I could be in a bit of a problem - but they should notify of changes in the T&C before they nick any money
Will have to look at co-op/smile I think :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi all again
just want to say thanks for all the support and advice and encouragement that is offered by all the members on this site!
update:
finally sent my postal orders off :-)
and have sent my first payment to cccs and set up a direct debit for them to start in august
the only thing now is the wait to see who has accepted and who has not.
Got a call from one of my creditors who had accepted my token payment but were not obliged to get in contact with cccs but needed cccs to get in contact with them :~(
i phoned cccs and they said that they had sent confirmation of my DMP on the 9th of july - the guy told me that they do not contact them directly and that i would have to phone the creditor and advise them to use my reference number and go to my online budget plan?!?
How will i know if they have accepted my dmp? will i need to call each one?
i am a bit anxious as i have got this far and just want things to move ahead so that i can start claiming back interest etc and so that i know where i stand on reduced or frozen interest.
i am starting to get letters regarding court proceedings (if i dont pay arrears) and 1 creditor (same one) threatened with a ccj possibility.
i have nothing but a car that they will probably take.
any advice would be much appreciated!
seriously thinking what i would do if not for this site - with the big credit crunch happeneing and living in one the most expensive places in europe how is the average person meant to survive.0 -

One other question I woke up with this morning  was if I put hubbys £317.52p tax credits down as his wage instead as you said they may want more info if I say its from his tax credits, wont they just ask about his tax credits as they see £317.52 as on a low income?
If i put the £317.52 down as 'other' income where can I say it came from?
This has been wirling around my head all night!
Have drawn almost all my money out of old account now, got last bit to do today hopefully as there was a limit to what I could withdraw in 1 day I was told yesterday!
Had bank account numbers for new account and a cashcard that has solo and maestro with it and surprisingly a cheque book! Not been 'allowed' one of them by banks in years! Went and activated my card for new account yesterday so should get pin number by weekend.:T
Will draw out last bit of savings from old account then call all bill companies and setup new Direct Debits at new bank / account and cancel old ones.
Need to find a savings account for my rainy day money before I get the urge to splurge!:rotfl: I am trying NOT to buy myself a Wii fit.Although we are desparate for a vacuum cleaner, ours packed up 2 months ago!
