If you give them more info, it will give them more things to query and pick holes in.0 -

Hi all, just got home and 2 messages from MBNA on landline and mobile.
Said I needed to contact them urgently , it is is my best interest to do so etc etc.. If I do not they will use a more direct way of contacting me!
(to date they have not accepted DMP)
They said they had been in contact with Payplan today and they needed me or hubby to ring them urgently tonight before any sort of agreement of plan could be made.
I am a bit chicken so will get hubby to call when he gets in.
I am worried and need to prepare before we call.
We have previously recd a letter from them saying they will not accept the DMP unless we increase the payments by £50 per month.
Any advice before we call, has anyone had any calls like this or dealings with MBNA?

I have not dealt personally with MBNA but it is important you to stick to what Payplan have said.
Remember Payplan will have supplied all the information they need and all they can do is review it and get back to Payplan.
I would not be drawn into any details in fact I would not bother ringing them but that is just me I don't deal with debt companies over phones. If you want to ring for peace of mind just basically thank them for acknowledging receipt and not supply any more details or obviously find any more for them otherwise you make a mockery of your budget.0 -
@Angelcake
I would agree with RayDay on not calling them to be honest. I had similar in the form of a letter from HSBC and they wanted me to go through my Income & Expenditure to come to an arrangement with them of how much I can pay rather then via CCCS.
I sent the form back with a covering letter and I included the following paragraphThe Consumer Credit Counselling Service will be providing you with my most up to date record of Income & Expenditure along with a list showing how my available income has been divided amongst my creditors, to ensure they and yourself are all dealt with fairly and equally.
I know its not specific to your problem but thought it might give you an angle if you do decide to ring them back.

Thanks for getting back Rayday, I will not get drawn into detail, I am sure they are going to try and up the payments, this I will not do.
I think for peace of mind, will call. I am going away tomorrow for the weekend and will worry all weekend if we do not call....
wish be luck and will post how we get on!DMP Mutal Support thread No 193

I decided in any dealings with my 3 Main Creditors I am going to pretty much say the same that I wont deal with them individually as I am ensuring they all get treated the same and CCCS managing it is the way I ensure it stays fair to all.
