The Japanese earthquake has fired off a tsunami in the Pacific, so there's a wave headed various people's way. This http://www.weather.gov/ptwc/text.php?id=pacific.2011.03.11.073000 lists ETAs at various points. Remember, these times are "Zulu" times, AKA GMT so you'll have to convert to local time.
There may well be updates throughout the day which will give you better estimates."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Thats thoughtful, Z - Chev, I hope you're okay.
And I like the template! Nice and simple.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hope all is OK with you Chev - Z that link makes quite chilling reading, doesn't it. For all we complain about the weather here, we really *do* live in a good place for it.
The template for targets and goals is similar to the one Cheery Daff used isn't it? I like the idea myself I must admit - and was thinking only the other day that it was time I set myself some renewed aims.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi Z and EH. We are fine so far. But new zealand has an tsunami advisory in place. this means stay off the beach and out of the water (it is pitch black so I don't htink that will be a problem lol), but I live only 300m from the beach and it is dead flat between here and there, so I have packed the car 'just in case'. they are saying that best guess so far is that the wave will only be a few 10's of cm. But even so, I have two kids to think about, so it doesn't pay to be prepared. The wave is due to get here at 06.14 tomorrow morning, so I will be getting up early to listen to the news, and hopefully go back to sleep. always assuming I can get to sleep in the first place. But the pictures from Japan. I am sorry but I was in tears. Some of the language students that passed over in Christchurch were from North Japan......
Will let you know how we are tomorrow

Hi sweetie .... I'm here too, wondering if you're okay-I'm sure you're in the thoughts of many of us on here... I can't imagine trying to sleep when you've got that alert hanging over you - well, I can imagine *trying*, but not succeeding very well. Hope it all goes better than we're fearing.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

thanks Karma. it is harder cos my OH is out of the country at the moment. but i have packed 'just in case' so there is not much more than i can do. i have an offer of a place to stay, but i would rather let the kids sleep at the moment, than frighten the crap out of them for no reason....

Chev - the BBC has just reported that your Tsunami warning has now been downgraded to "marine warning only" which means that there will be some unusual currents, but nothing likely to affect those on land, apparently.
Watching the BBC news coverage at the moment - truly terrifying images.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
