Have a busy day here, went and got my hair cut which was quite long and is now up to my chin. It'll take a while to get used to it but at least it will dry quickly.
Thanks all for the advice about the dw and i'm defo gonna get one and i think it will be a bosch.
Dusty the cops still haven't came and won't for awhile.
I can now say whats going on but it's a long read.
PIL rented a house out to a chinese man who was in tears to get a house as he had just moved over from London, (there was about 30 people phoned looking to view this house) anyway PIL rented it out to him and his brother and aunt.
They signed a tenancy agreement and moved in this is a few months ago. 2 weeks ago PIL where up at the house and there was no life about it and every window was covered so couldn't see in through any windows.
Last week on the news chinese people were arrested in a house a few towns over and where arrested for growing cannabis in the house 3 got away and they left a small child there.
PIL started to wonder what was going on up in the house they rented out so hubby went up and the bathroom window was open (they changed all the locks)so he climbed in and the place didn't even look the same, every room has big lights and plants, the walls are all covered in tin foil stuff, plastic on the floor, leads and wires coming in through the ceiling, big fans in every room, chemicals in the bath. We counted 48 bags of peat, 28 fans still in boxes, loads of plant pots and rooting powder. They bypassed the electric to the main thing and sliver tubes up every chimney.
PIL are in total shock and the police have cleared out 50 houses and have 15 to do before they get to PIL's house and another man up the road from the house rented out to them to and his house is the same he thinks because the windows are all covered but he can't get in.
GnB congrats on the star.
Johanne big hugs.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Vanilla - omg, thats terrible! Hope you get it sorted soon and PIL gets the house back, at least then it could be rented out to someone else.
I'll keep my fingers crossed you get things sorted soon.
Am just about asleep here, even though i had a nap in the afternoon for an hour. I think the "excitement" of the last week has caught up with me, although i really scared DH by telling him that i want to have a pink bathroom when we move! He just about had kittens lol. Glared at me for 10 minutes before i had the nerve to tell him i was joking!LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Vanilla - big hugs to you and yours. There is a similar story in these 'ere parts. Several houses have been busted recently which have involved the growing of illegal drugs. They have been let to seemingly OK tenants but the tenants set up the greenhouse, disappear and leave a 'gardener' (usually an illegal immigrant from eastern parts) in situ. The gardener is the one that cops it when found out. The original perps get off scot free.
The owners of the property then have to foot the bill for the repairs - making the house safe, clearing the compost etc. etc. You say the bloke down the road from your PILs can't get in? I suggest he breaks in.
Also, were the properties let through a managing agent? If they were, you need to speak v. seriously to them. Find out what went wrong with the references etc and consider a claim against them. If not letting through an agent, then make sure when the property is rented again an agent is used. Then at least the landlord has some come back.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Michelle - It'll be a year in September since we signed the contract for here, tenancy ends at the end of September but we didn't physically move in until the middle/back end of October as there was a lot to be done first. The nightmare started in August, but looking back it made us move which was probably one of the best things we ever did, especially for DS2 who's shown vast improvements at the new school. Every cloud has a silver lining x
Pigpen, I was more thinking use them when not pushing the buggy, but I know what you mean about the RSI. :rotfl: @ baby bunnies, just spoils it when they loose their innocent side.
boddy sorry but I'd have been in a panic, I hate lifts!
vanilla MY GOD!!! Oh heck!!! I agree with what soappie's said, unfortunately it could be a costly thing for your PIL.
bonsibabe fingers crossed the house can be yours, must be fate, empty houses without a massive waiting list never even happen here. Definately kick up as much of a stink as possible with the removals, it's not on saying they want you out but to keep your stuff there.
Hex great newswell done to your little Ds2!!! Just added you BTW
Johanne, we pay £3.50 a box for crickets, worms, locusts etc. Think we get about 8 locusts per box so might be cheaper for me aswell, saying that I've used the same supplier for 8 years I think it will be now, might still look into getting some from there, thanks. Oh and good luck with the OH issues.
lizzie you've done really well, well done!
Went shopping, split between Tesco and Aldi, will go for pet foods and any meats tomorrow around DS1s school fayre time (1.30-3 I think, must check) I might actually have enough, must double check the freezer and meal plan list again see what I can find then stretch. Came back and was dozing off again so decided to do the garden, mad idea, 3 hours later the rear garden is cut (one heck of a job especially with a little flymo thing) and DS2s planters sorted a bit. Built up an appetite, sat eating my dinner, which consists of - thai chicken fillet (been in the freezer for well over a year) some stirfry veg (in 2 tiny carrots from DS2s pot which are lovely) and some noodles, definately a wozzin dinner. Oh and I've got an egg shaped lump on my head, remind me not to ask DS2 to hold a basketball net again please, swang it and clocked me one when I bent down, ouch! Ds2 wanted to help with the mower so I stood with the cable pulling it in and out so he didn't go over it as he did 4 stripes, then he decided it was boring so was back to me, oh well at least he'll stop bugging me so he can have a go now.
Treating myself to a slouch on the sofa watching the Bill Gates documentary that was on BBC2. I might even open the Tiramisusomething I buy as a treat occasionally because I can't make it, yes I've tried and it's bleurgh! I ache just about everywhere so think my max strength horse pills (Ibuprofen 800s :rotfl: ) then bed after this has finished. Thinking back to previous assignments, I don't think I've ever had 1/3 done by the Friday before due day, so I'll hopefully sleep easier with that thought.
One day I might be more organised...........

Soappie it was just advertised in the local paper. The other landlord was told by the police not to go near it and wait for the police to open it up. The damage isn't to bad in PIL's house thank goodness but it will depend on what damage the police will do when they go in. He won't get any help with the door or any damage because there is illegal plants there. It's awful because PIL and hubby and me spent most of last summer fixing the house up and PIL put in the oil heating and really put so much effort into it. FIL even asked the police if he can keep the peat and pots:rotfl: and asked them if they wanted him to water the plants for them.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: He'll get himself lifted yet.:rotfl:
FIL has been up tonight to turn the electric off, because the fans are going 24 hours a day. Hopefully the police will get down soon so we can get it cleaned up and get it rented again the whole top floor is stinking with the plants, we even found the agreement that was signed. PIL are in there mid to late 60's and are just gutted but flip it didn't stop them climbing in through the down stairs window.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
