Back from seeing mum and daughter.
After I had said bye to mum I got in the lift to go uostairs to see one of the staff who was leaving. Got in the lift pressed the button and the doors shut. The lift didnt move then realised there was a keypad. Ooops Oh dear me I thought. I wasnt quite panicking but realised I had my mobile in my pocket. So I rang the office and the manager said I thought you were still here. Told her I was but in the lift. At that point we both started to laugh. Said she would come and get me. Lift door opens a couple of minutes later and most of the staff are there laughing their heads off. I felt such a fool. When I told my daughter I had shown myself up she said have you fallen down again. Then nearly wet herself laughing when I told her.
Vanilla hugs for you and PIL.
ebb Hope the computer s behaving itself now.
Johanne big hugs.

Hair dresser's been and gone. Highlights are all done and he's done a beautiful cut. Shame I've no way of reproducing the finished look when I next wash it. I'm hopeless with hair and told him I need him to come and give me blow drying lessons.:rotfl:
NiceN also popped in whilst I was foiled up so we had a merry time with the gin whilst I was being coiffeured. (NiceN is also one of my hairdresser's customers).
Boddy, I don't know why, but your stuck in the lift story reminded me of a time I got stuck in a train loo. The train had been late getting into St Pancras so had minimal turn around time and maintenance checks clearly weren't done. I got up after a bit and went to the loo. As I stepped into the cubicle, I pulled the door shut behind me and the handle came off in my hand (honest guv!).
Hey ho, I thought. Pulled the lock across, did my business, washed my hands, undid the lock and put the handle back on the post thingy. Nothing happened! The door wouldn't open! So I'm there, stuck in the loo on the fast train to the Midlands.
I have my mobile phone in my pocket and the door handle in my hand. I start banging on the door with the handle (even tapping out SOS in morse code with it!) but no-one comes to my aid.
There is an emergency chord above my head to my right. I contemplate my options. I wondered if I dialled 999 on the mobile, which emergency service would I ask for and would they take me seriously if I asked them to contact the driver of the 08:55 train from St Pancras and get him to tell the guard I'm stuck in the loo of carriage D.
I then decide that, OK, it's about 10 minutes to the next station. If no-one comes along and frees me I'll just have to pull the emergency chord once we're stopped (I baulked at pulling it then and there).
But, about 3 minutes before we're due into the next station when I've just about had enough and am worried about my luggage unattended in the carriage, the door flies open. There stands a guard. "Oh thank you so much!" I say "I've been stuck for ages. Here, take this" and hand him the handle and go very, very gratefully back to my seat :rotfl::rotfl:But, part of me was wishing I'd made it to the station so I could pull that chord and then let them try and charge me £50 for misuse..:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
