Thanks all for your kind thoughts.
Everything went ok, well as ok as these things do. Trying to get back to normality with difficulty as brother has left me with a load of paperwork to delve through to send to solicitors -plus going through general 'stuff' from mums flat...............but I'm getting there (I think............lol)

Mums friend wants me to look out some photos of her and I'm thinking of doing them in scrapbook form...........never done it before and think it needs a proper scrapbook with rings rather than a board book........unless I try and convert a small photo album I've got.................umm.........(puts thinking hat on) - daren't get any more paper -drawers full at the minute ........lol

Thanks for the advice ladies re artymiss. I've read bad reviews about them before, but they had quite a few basic grey items that I was after. I don't think I'd ever order a mystery box where I had no clue what was in it, but because it was basic grey stuff I was thinking of giving it a go. It does really put me off that postage is a fiver.

If it wasn't artymiss I think I would have ordered the set, we could have split it and had a fight over who gets what ;)

Glad you're back, we've missed you!

A scrapbook sounds a lovely idea. I'm still yet to make my first proper one too ;)

  • Mary - I'm glad it all went okay, it sounds like a lovely idea to do a scrapbook of your Mum. Let me know what sort of size you're after and what sort of theme and I'll have a look for you. The biggest 12x12 is quite a daunting size if its the first one that you do, otherwise there's 8x8, 6x6 and loads of sizes of mini books.
I found a site yesterday that had a few K and Co items for sale that were a couple of quid cheaper than elsewhere. I'll pop a link up in a minute, there was a Peabody album kit that is quite vintage looking, you get an 8.5x8.5 scrapbook with the papers already in it, so all you have to do is add your photos and decorate it. Here's the link to the page it was on, its about half way down:

Rainmac - Its not the delivery delays that bothers me, more that the stuff might be damaged, and knowing my luck I'd probably get the same stuff that I've got already. I would win the fight - I'm bigger than you!!

Mumjustoftwo - Rainmac will tell you I've had two orders from the docrafts site recently all of basic grey stuff, their prices were fab.

Hi ladies; I don't usually post in here, but do occasionally like to read through (hence picking up on melissa's tip for the basic grey papers ;) ). Just wanted to say, I've only done one scrapbook to date - for DD's 18th - and it was 12x12. I bought an 8x8 as well, but when I came to doing it I thought the 12x12 would be easier. There's more room for photos so I felt it would be easier to do with a theme for each page IYKWIM. E.g. one page for 'family' one page for 'dressing up' etc. I must get the book back off DD so I can photo the pages and post links.

I've recently bought a 12x12 retro floral scrapbook kit (papermania?) and two mini-kits but have yet to start on them.

Also wanted to add a note to Mary - I'm sorry for your loss. I think making a scrapbook with photos is a lovely idea, and maybe you could make one for yourself as well?

How do you find these sites? There's some great stuff on there. I really like the Addison set for £9.99. Going to be good though cos bought lots recently and need to use some of what I have :o

mumjustoftwo - I ordered stuff from do crafts too in the sale, fantastic prices :D

    Okay, some pics :o
I've created an album in photobucket so I can just post one link here instead of a dozen or so! I don't think it's a very conventional scrapbook and certainly not up to the standard that most of you would produce, but DD loves it :D. I'm sure I'd have done it a lot differently if I was starting it now, but hey-ho.

Here it is then: DD's scrapbook
