  • I'm going to bore you all now with some pics of my paperbag album that I finally have completed - sort of! I'm just waiting for my Mum to bring up my big bite so that I can set some eyelets in the holes on the book and on the tags. Plus I might use some book rings instead to secure it and tie some ribbons around them. Okay here's the front cover:

    and here's the inside pages:

and I made some tags that slip into the side pockets so that she can write some bits and bobs on:

melissa that is absolutely gorgeous well done:T :T :T :T who is it for? she is going to love it!

for your mum's birthday could you make an album with quotes rather than photos? I have made my mum lots of things with photos of the kids and am thinking of doing quotes (pinching rainmac's idea!) for her birthday.

Bunbun - thanks, its the first thing in ages that I've made that I am pleased with. Its for the friend that I've just got back in touch with. I remembered its her birthday in April so I was thinking of posting it up to her for that.
I was thinking of maybe doing something with quotes so that it's different to everything else that I've made.

Melissa that is a lovely book! Are those K & Co papers??

What about doing your mum a journal jar?? THen she could take a prompt from a decorated jar/box and write something in the decorated journal book with a pen covered in matching paper/ribbons/fibres etc. This is what I was going to do for my mum for part of her Christmas but didn't get round to it so may save it for her bday as I have all the bits for it still.

Good luck sounds like you've been busy with some great ideas.

PS Melissa are you going to the NEC in March??

Thanks ladies for your kind comments!

Furrypig - thanks for the great idea of a journal jar! The papers are by basic grey and they are the sugared range. I used a 6x6 pad of papers from the glitter pot to make it. After buying about everything k and Co have made I have defected over to basic grey now. I am hoping to go to the show in March - I've already told the OH I'm going!

Mary - it was a pain to do, mainly because once I'd folded the bags they didn't quite match up. Then my stupid hole punch couldn't punch the thickness of the bags. I have now bought some paperbag albums from ebay, they are pre-stitched so they should be much easier to use next time. I haven't got a sewing machine so I can't stitch them myself.

    Melissa, that album is so beautiful, I love it :T :T :T :T :T :T

Did it take long to make? Is it hard, do you think I'd be able to do it? Can you give me the link of who you bought the paper bag albums from as I'd like to give it a go sometime ;)

If anyone wants mum quotes please send me a PM with your email address as I've got quite a few in a word document that I've nicked off the net.
