rainmac -thanks. Might get down town on Thursday -hopefully card shop will have one in and I can get started.
How did you manage the edge where the rings were ? Yours looks really decorative -and can you take the card out of the scrapbook like you can a ring binder so it can be covered all over ?
Sorry to bombard you with all this but you might know if I can an idea from you (remember the door hangers) I get in a tiny bit of panic..........:rotfl:
Can't wait to start.............even went through my papers again.......sorted out one lot (identical to yours.......hope you don't mind) that I'll do for one son.........I've got some nice trendy black and white ones that'll be just right for foster daughter............older son is very musical so I'll have to scour internet for the right sort of paper to suit him I think.

Oh lummy........I'm getting all excited over bits of paper..........how sad is that:rotfl:

Oh Rusty - best to experiment on a scrap of paper first to wor out whether the coffee method will be what you want and to work out how dark you want it to be if you know what I mean. I just dabbed mine on with an old rag on some pictures, and wiped it all over on others. If you're tea drinker I'm sure you'll get similar effect if not the same. I just worked on what my son told me.

I only covered the card up to the holes and left the bit by the holes not decorated (or should that be undecorated???). The rings do come apart - bit like sleeper earrings I remember having as a youngster.

rainmac - thanks. If the rings come apart I think I might stick the paper all over...........umm.......have a think about that.
The front page I'd want to cover right to the edge I think......couldn't quite see how you'd done yours.............did you thread a ribbon through or anything like that ? Sorry...........I must be a right pain..............lol:rotfl:

Oh and I just noticed in my little bookshelf an old photo album....the sort you stick photos straight on to the pages...........its only a small one......wonder if I could play with that...........might be worth thinking about if the card shop don't have the ones I want.:j

Just be advised that if you are going to stick photos straight onto those pages they may not be acid free which would mean that the photos could go yellow etc.

  • Hi

I was wondering if anyone was good with verses? I'm in need of one for my DH's valentines day present.
Its a scrapbook that i gave him for our first anniversary (2years ago). When i gave it to him i had only dne the first page and i promisd to finish it with the rest of our wedding photos (dominican republic :-) I have recently tackled it and it will be finished soon.

    I couldn't resist a request for a verse!

"It’s been a long time coming
But I finally made a start
And now we have a reminder
Of the day I gave you my heart

So cherish this book for always
    As I will cherish you
And each time you turn these pages
You’ll know that our love is true"

Hope this helps - feel free to chop/change/ignore :o
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

Mary - bad luck with the shop being shut. What size scrapbook were you after, and what sort of style?
Xkymx - there's often codes for studio for free postage.
Jailhousebabe - did you reall write that verse yourself, its fab?

melissa - I want to have a go with one of those chipboard ones, the sort rainmac used. I've looked on various sites but prices and shapes and sizes vary. Not sure what size rainmacs was but it was a little oblong one.
