Thanks for the info Rainmac Oh I can see another spend coming on here!! Think I'll nip out and get the Docrafts tomorrow!
Mary looks like it's me and you doing this for the first time! I'm sure we will be fine!Hi Hels, the album was the oblong one from this site but I see it's now out of stock... http://www.docrafts.co.uk/asp/products/Default.asp?p=761
The latest issue of Docrafts Creativity shows how to make little book albums with cardstock and acetate for pages which is something I'd like to have a go with. You can just tie together with ribbons or a book ring.
Hope you feel much better soon
Minimacka, love your scrapbook page, it's so bright and boyish, I love it :T:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0 -
hels - I wonder if rainmac realises what she's in for..............lol I'm bound to bombard her with questions and shouts of 'It's gone wrong!'..............lol:rotfl: Poor soul had to put up with so much when I did my door hangers................lol
Bloomin' weather - snowing here so no chance of me going to the local craft shop for a scrapbook  and I'm all keen to get started on it. Typical that is and its alright sending OH for a magazine but who knows what he'd come back with if I tried to describe one of those little scrapbooks.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

You're not alone - I've never done any scrapbooking either.
Am sure I have some of the mini book rings somewhere.
OH is away for most of the next 2 weeks and DD is busy so will be able to get my stuff out and leave it on the dining table without sighing and fingers putting me off.
If photobucket stops hating me I might even post some picsOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

paddington - look forward to seeing what you do. I've never really looked at those type of scrapbooks before so not a clue how you put the paper in -or do you stick it on whats inside

Hi Ladies,
I am in a pickle, my MIL has sent me over some photos from FIL's collection, My first page I will use a recent photo of him and then put his name/date of birth and verious other bits on it, at some point I will do a page of his family i.e kids/grandkids/wife. for another page I wanted to use pictures of OH when he was little to how he is now, I was thinking of putting some wording on there maybe saying *My blue eyed boy*
However I am struggling with paper ideas for the scrapbook. Do I go 8x8 or 12 x 12? also with the pictures being fairly old do I use an older style paper? Ideally I would like papers with embellishments to match however this cannot break the bank. I would really appreciate if someone could suggest some kind of paper and embellishments for these pics.
No laughing at the pictures this is my lovely OH and if you laugh he might hear you and then I will get in trouble :rotfl:Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Hi
I was wondering if anyone was good with verses? I'm in need of one for my DH's valentines day present.

I'm glad its nearly done, as i'm itching to make a start on one for my son (3 months on thurs) it was going to be his first year but i have taken so meny photos already it might only be 6 months! Its amazing i have far less me time now, than i did before he was born but i get so much more done in the time i have. which is why its taken me 2 years to finish our wedding scrapbook!
Thanks in advance

Couldn't be easier mary, you just stick the paper onto the card in the album. Just like you do with a card:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Sorry, I am rubbish with verses, your ideas are lovely:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Rusty, lovely pics. Love the little cat - is he yours? We have a big black cat called Ben, he'll be 8 this year and his life has been hell since the kids arrived as they love to stroke and play with him when he wants to sleep .
As for scrapbooking, not sure if I'm going to be much help?
Here's a site that offers free pages, embellishments etc that you can print...
http://www.scrapbookscrapbook.com/themes.html. Haven't used them myself - I'm not a seasoned scrapper as you knowThere must be loads of stuff available on the web for free?
Can't remember if it was this thread or not but mary suggested a way of aging paper using cold strong coffee, you just wipe the coffee over your paper and allow to dry and voila, aged paper!
I would probably stick to pale muted tones rather than brights.
Good luck:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Found some lovely 'family' paper on ebay (high postage though)...
