Morning all:hello:
It's absolutely chucking it down here - MISERABLE!!!
I'm on Annual Leave this week (yippee!!!!!!!!!!!_party_ ) due to it being half term. DS2 is going to nursery today (you pay whether he goes or not, and he LOVES going!) So its just me & DS1 at home. What do you do with a SUPER ACTIVE 5 year old on a rainy day? Any ideas anyone?
DW is on & 1 load of washing to go in shortly. Dinner tonight is stew - my Dad made it for us yesterday and his stews are FAB!
Broke a tooth yesterday - don't know how, so need to phone the dentist (I only went last Monday.) Luckily its not painful or anything.
Hope everyone has a great day (despite the weather)

Morning everyone
pink - so glad your DD's coming home
PP - it is nice to talk to 'real' people, isn't it. That's what Mr TM doesn't understand, that if I don't go out, I only have small people to talk to.
scuzz - put your feet on a hot water bottle. If you can keep hands, feet and neck warm, that tends to be the battle won
Jo - you do make me laughI know I shouldn't, but I followed all your posts where you got your job, were so looking forward to it, loved it, and now.....
Ah bless, only another 40 years to go...........;)
Well, some of my stuff sold on ebay last night and I have some watchers on others. It's exciting, isn't it, especially when you've not sold for ages. Made a really good price on one item too. Must get them wrapped and posted today cos 2 peple paid instantaneously.
It's bucketing down here and I left some washing out (again) cos we had a dry spell yesterday. Will have to spin it again because I doubt it will fine up todayI started decorating the kitchen yesterday. Need to go out and get some more sandpaper for the palm sander and better check on the gloss situation too. I have the emulsion left over from the hall (I mixed it myself and have 20 L left over
) so hall and kitchen will 'flow' nicely into each other. Will also repaint hall/stairs/landing where little hands keep mucking it up
Lunch will be leftovers from fridge (mix and match) and haven't given tea a thought yet. Will see what the freezer gives up. Oh, must defrost them today cos I'm getting my lamb tomorrow. YUM
Have a good day one and all.
TM
ps had a really strange dream about Martin last nightWell, it was more about getting to the official meet than him directly, but it turned into some sort of mega-convention with 000's of people there, and only 1 loo
Nothing kinky (well, I wouldn't tell ya if it was  )

Hi all
Well, being half term it's time for me to go wedding dress shopping. No chance of me getting any work this weekMy mum and my best friend are coming here at 9.15am and I haven't even thought about brekkie yet. Whoops. I will do when I finish this. Promise!
I made a big vat of spag bol last night. We had some of it, so the rest has been split up into portions and is now in the freezer ready and waiting.
I need to book my car in for it's service, but I can't help feeling that they're going to charge me moneyHopefully not too much, but when my last car went in for it's last service it came out sounding worse than before.
Have a good day everyone.

:hello: Goooooood Morning
((pink fairy)) - that is the very *best* news :j :j :j (I can see your smile from here)
brummiebabe - I would take mine out and about even when it was raining ... puddle jumping can be a real hoot at 5yoBut, from the weather report yesterday, seems that the rain is set to stay for the day
If you have a plank of wood around ... could you make him a small obsticle course? (walk the plank - it can be laid so he can walk the widest part; if he finds that too easy or meets the challenge, he could do it with his hands on his head). Hope you find something that doesn't leave *you* frazzled
Our plans today are to clear out all the junk that gathers! The lads have outgrown quite a bit of stuff so it needs a good sort through.
D11yo has already sorted out his old books.
Then I shall set about unpicking buttons/zips; making cleaning cloths from any of clothing which is appropriate. (Yield @ 1040hrs = 8 buttons)
D10yo gets the joy of cutting any of the cotton fabrics into strips so they can complete their rag rug
Have a great day Os'ers:wave:

morning all
its so dark out that it stil feels like the middle of the night to me - it really sounds like its miserable weather everywhere.
so today im going to stay in my cosy kitchen and do some baking - it really amuses me - when my neice and nephew ( 7 and 5 ) used to come to visit they used to sometimes say yes when offered a shop bought biscuit/wafer or cake. but no great enthusuaism or excitement.
but now that i do my own baking they don't even wait to get through the door before theyre into my tin of plain little fairy cakes or whatever cup cakes i have that week.they love them!
as i am staying in because of the rain ill probably finally start sorting out the spare bedroom - dont laugh -- we have been in this house 20 years and it still has packing cases in it from the day we moved in lol - but it is only since i started being OS and planning my days/meals etc , that i have finally got up to date and ahead of myself enough to tackle it!
will have to walk dog later - rain or no rain - and i am cooking liver and onions for tea.
have a lovely day all and lets hope it brightens up a bit - especially for those who have kiddies at home for half term break.

Morning all :hello:
Back from a weekend away and feeling awful ATM. We left here eventually at 6.30pm on Friday and didn't get to IL's (2 hours maximum drive usually) until 9.50pm  We got stuck behind a wide load taking up 2 lanes on the M6 resulting in a 50mph speed limit all the way from junction 22 to 35! Plus with all the roadworks and a 30mph speedlimit at one point it was not a pleasant journey at all. With one thing and another we didn't get to bed until after midnight (including DD so she was shattered on Saturday). DD had to be up at 8.30am Saturday to go out with her great aunt so OH and I got up and went to a continental market in Barrows town center :drool: After a bit of Christmas shopping we had a restful afternoon and then went to see the best show I have seen in years (and that includes Starlight Express!)
SIL was in her last ever show with the junior operatic society and they did Les Miserables so we had to go and see it. It was amazing!!!! DD even sat through the whole thing (but that could be partly due to the party that she knew she could go to at the end :rotfl: ) You would honestly not think that no-one in the cast was over 18 as they're voices were amazing! The make-up (by MIL and team) helped alot and the set (moved etc by FIL and team) just added to the most spectacular show and I've worked on enough to know a good show when I see one. They had standing ovations EVERY night for 5 nights. :j I was warned by MIL that I would end up crying alot (she knows that anything can set me off - even the Andrex puppy has had me crying before today) but I only welled-ed twice but during the speech at the end made by one of the members of the board had me in tears just because I was so proud of the whole cast and crew - in fact I'm nearly crying now at the thought of it
:o
Anyway, yesterday OH and I went back to the continental market and managed to spend £45 in 15 minutes on cheese, meat, olives, marinated garlic, turkish delight and pate  so purse strings are VERY tight for the rest of the week until I eventually get paid which won't be too bad since DD is staying at IL's until Tuesday night when OH will go to pick her up. Unfotunately my stomach doesn't like all the rich cheeses, I suspect it could be quantity rather than the richness, as I have felt ill since yesterday afternoon. The only thing that seems to settle my nausea is bread so I'm about to go and get a second helping of toast.
Plans for today :
- Laundry (one load just finished as I am typing) x 5 at least all to be dried above the heaters in the bedrooms as I haven't the cash to go to the laundrette and its bucketing it down here
- Dishes to wash
- Hoover / Dust all rooms
- Clean bathroom (didn't get around to it Friday)
- Shopping (bread and milk)
and I have ebay parcels to package up (sold £90+ worth of stuff over the last 60 days :j and I have loads left to list), ironing to do (which I might leave until tomorrow when all the clothing is washed and dried) and probably 101 other things which my brain can't comprehend at the minute.
Right, off to hang washing and get some more toast. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
One load of washing has been done and another load is ready to go in.
Made dough for bread rolls and am about to bake them and a fruit cake is in the breadmaker.
Taking half an hour to browse round here before DD's come up with stuff for me to do."This site is addictive!"

Just heard from Mum who called the foreign office number for Hurricane Wilma - and there've been no British fatalities, which means sis and bil are still alive!!!Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
