I'm getting the kitten thism afternoon!! Not going to be very OS really as the little !!!!!! needs de-fleaing, ahhhhhh!!! Gotta go buy some tablets and a collar that is suitable for a little un to stop the fleas spreading to our house when it arrives later today!
I really should be ding the cleaning cos I can't go get her til its done, how do I always end up on here? Its like a magical port hole from my bedroom to the study transports me here each morning, weird.
Just need to clean the bathroom, hoover the hall, polich the hall furniture etc. The rest are helping out so it gets done quicker but at the mo I don't think anyone has started. We are always VERY slow on a sat!
Got family coming round later to see the kitty, fingers crossed they wont scare her to death. Oh i'm so excited, must package up this ebay item then get on with the house work, oh and get dressed silly me. Have a good day all, will post back later when kitty has come to her new home.0 -
a couple of good-sized potatoes per person - King Edwards work best
as much grated cheese as your diet will allow
margarine for mashing
salt and pepper- Simply boil the potatoes in a large pan of salted water, then drain thoroughly.
- Add the margarine, plenty of salt and pepper, and mash until quite smooth. Add the cheese (reserving some for the crust) and beat until the cheese has melted.
- Transfer to a large greased bowl and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in the oven at 200C/375F/gas mark for about an hour, until the top of the pie is golden and bubbling.
- You can serve this on its own, but I like it with some tinned tomatoes or a fresh green salad. Or, if you're feeling in the need of some comfort food, baked beans or tinned spaghetti go really well with it, too.

LOL! I can't believe I couldn't remember how to make something so simple
I had a feeling it might be done that way, but for some reason also had in my head something about slicing the potatoes and layering in a dish with the cheese
Anyway, thanks for posting that as I'll definitely get DS to make it for us at some point next week, being as it's half term"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Well I am seriously p
off this morning.
Bought a shed for the allotment and its going to cost me £50 to get the thing collected and put up, then we have to pay for it to be ploughed up, its too b----y big to dig so far I have spent £150 and nothing is growing on it.
I am so sick of having to fight for every penny we spend and the prospect of another 3 years before all our money is our own and I can finally do what I want to do.........
Washing in, today is going to be the best day over the weekend, so stripped the bed, hate sheets dried in the dryer.... so just going to put them out.
Off to see a friend this afternoon.................

My Dad made it in pastry as a straighforward pie with the cooked potato and the cheese both diced small. This was when my mum was confined with a younger sister to be (any minute now) and he had to keep popping back upstairs to ask for instructions for each stage. It was the first ever meal I helped to make.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Morning all - Yes got the breadmaker going!
Got up early and as its only the 3 of us and I got some unexpected money yesterday, we went and had a nice cooked breakfast at Tesco. Okay, so its not OS, and nothing was homemade, but there was no washing up - so I consider that a bonus.
Managed to squeeze in another 500 clubcard points while there, so hopefully I have just about managed to add them into this mailing. Sorted out this weeks meal planner before the shopping.
Having problems with DS2. She wont eat anything I have been cooking for the last month. Shes lost weight (she was never fat, but losing the little flab is a bonus). So this week is HM burgers and HM Chicken Nuggets and see if I can tempt her that way.
Its the meat you see. I am sorry to say that our family has been a processed famiy from day one (because thats what I was as a child, so my excuse is that I knew no better!) She will only eat reformed meat. So I am going to chop it all in my food processor and reform it for her! We will see what happens.
Doing Jam in my BW this afternoon! Ringing round my friends and family to see whos got jars and lids that are empty - cos I recycled all mine about a month ago before I even thought of a BM!
Throughly enjoying the quiet - got a bottle of wine for later on!
HAVE A NICE DAY everyone, regardless of the weather!0 -

Thank you Old Stylers
I've just got the yearly settlement bill through from N-Power. Thanks to really thinking about what we use and how we use it theyare reducing our monthly electricity direct debit from £79.50 to £60 a month. We still have a way to go and I have yet to recieve the gas one but that's a massive £20 a month saved. I can't believe we've done so wellOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

I think the one DS was doing in school is most likely to be the same as moggins described (which I also have vague memories of making at school) as he only needed to take in potatoes, grated cheese, milk and butter, with optional ingredients of (pre-cooked) bacon bits, onions and sliced tomato to garnish!
I think I came across a recipe either in the index or one of the threads I was searching which involves a pastry case though, but I couldn't be bothered to make pastry too
The impossilbe quiche makes it's own pastry! :j"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
