    Hi all

I had a successful day at school today. Well, the children seemed to learn quite a bit and I enjoyed being with them. Always a bonus being a teacher!!!

I'm finding it difficult to keep on top of the cleaning etc with working most days. At least I'll have no real excuse over half term though! 2 loads of washing have been done and I'll think about ironing some later. :D

OH got a mini payrise today - 3%, whoop-deee-doooopty-dooo-dah! Ah well, at least it'll pay for our meal out tonight. He's taking me to a fish restaurant up the road, bless him, as I'm now "earning".

Anyway, have a good evening.

    Today - I am a VERY happy mummy!!!!! :j :j :j :j

Opened the post, and several clients have paid their bills :j - I was about to write one off too, he's taken so long!

My Dad is taking DD1, 2 and 3 away for the weekend, so I only have baby here! :j :j

Just checked my clubcard points and they have finally added the extra ones I have been waiting ages for - got £1000 in deals so we are off to Disneyland in new year! :j :j

And my breadmaker arrived! Got my Dad to buy me one for xmas, and I got the Hinari one that Tescos had on offer a few days ago. Reading the reciepe book - and I am drooling - apricot jam, cake, bread, urrrrgggggggghhhhhh.....(as Homer would say!) :j :j

The downside is that I will now have to spend over budget for the month, as I only have £15 to last all next week and I obviously have to buy lots of flour and stuff tomorrow to try it out!

JNeed to go out again in a minute as my Grandads in hospital so got him a card in tescos and want to get it in the post today so hopefully he'll get it tomorrow.
Blimey - it's a good thing you started talking about cards as I would have forgotten to get one for my baby brother who will be leaving his teenage years behind him next Tuesday - seems like yesterday he was only little :o

I do hope your Grandad is OK and will be out of hospital soon.

moggins...Im sure Ive seen cycle lamps in poundland recently.

DS brought home his grade report and was a little dissapointed in a D for English.
He's only been back at school 6 weeks so plenty of time to improve.
His psychology and sociology grades were both above average though .
We had special sort of shepherds pie for tea which is made with rice instead of mash and has cheese in a sort of lasagne sauce.
The chelsea buns went well too.Last time they were small and heavy as the scales sometimes jump when you add things so I weighed everything twice this time.
I wonder if the weather is going to revert to summer as it has for the last 2 weekends.

I'd really like the recipe for chelsea buns, please. I used to have them for nine o'clockers in the Navy. (Supper to you civilians :)) If so, could you add it to the breadmaking thread so I can index it later?

Well the grand children have been, I am shattered, but they are such NICE children, not an easy thing to say in this day and age.

DGS watched cartoons on TV and demolished a huge plate of bacon and tomato pasta, salad, fresh bread and apple crumble.

DGD also watched TV, I have a guest bed, a bed with a guzzunder bed, have been trying to sell it in our local paper, but nothing doing, so asked her if she would like it, means she can have a visitor to stay in her room......so its going over to their house when we can sort out getting it in our car and taking it over, might have to do it in two journeys.... but I would sooner she have it, I know she will appreciate and look after it.

Daddy called to collect them after work.......and we made cheese on toast for supper, I am not going to do an hour on my quilt and relax........

Only just gettin on here  ... had a horrible day yesterday felt really rough - feel asleep on the couch too and woke up at 3am with a sore neck.. went up to bed and woke up about 8 and it was still as bad! Been plaguing me all day! :(

Wasted my day really today.... Ex-OH promised he'd come round when he got up and pick up some stuff he left here (i.e. dirty sweaty work uniform and clothes) its been sat in my dining room festering for at least 4 weeks! _pale_ Hadnt heard from him by 2pm so rang him.. said hed be round a bit later.. im still waiting   Had planned to go out shopping.. too late now.

Anyway i got up about 8am and had a bath, then set about "deep" cleaning every room in the house (how i make so much mess alone is beyond me! :rotfl: ) Didnt want ex-OH to see it a mess :o - need to give the false impression that im fine... infact im great! and everything is under control and great and i dont need him around to do my dishes and "help"

Now im trying to find activites to keep myself occupied that DONT make a mess. :rotfl: Want to keep the house spotless anyway as ive invited mum, dad and lil bro to mine for sunday dinner  Dad always goes home to mum after calling in and says "its a tip" so i wanna prove HIM wrong too. Cooking my first ever roast dinner on sunday :j Thought it would be nice and give my mum a break for the 25+ years shes been doing it?!

And on a final note.. im gettin really annoyed here... i bought a wireless door bell.. knew over the road had the same one so i purposely changed the frequency on it so it wouldnt interfer. Everything was fine.. until yesterday.. they must have changed theirs to the same frequency as mine without knowing.. and now whenever anyone knows at their house my bell rings and vice-versa! :rotfl: :rotfl: Have to sort it tomorrow i think. Too cold and dark outside now.

I'd love to know what the dishes are *hint hint*

Well it's not totally vegetarian as it does allow fish.

    Last year we had
    1. smoked cod with stewed onion & carrots
    2. potato & herring casserole
    3. carrot pancakes
    4. grated potato pancakes
    5. potato zeppelins stuffed with mushrooms - think chicken kiev except potato
    6. honey cake
    7. apple cheese - basically soldified apple sauce that you slice. we had lots left over and it goes extraordinarily well with roast pork
    8. blueberry or poppyseed mini dumplings
    9. honey mushrooms
    10. poppy seed milk
    11. sauerkraut
    12. Kucia - basically any mixed cooked grains with honey

To drink we had home-made krupnik, but bought in the beer & mead. The krupnik vanished much more quickly than the rest.

this year some of the guests are properly vegetarian so the fish dishes will be on one side or possibly removed.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!
