    Golly already at 4 pages!
This morning the BM is doing chelsea buns(The dough really).
WM is on with a load and another to go in.Dont usually have so much in one go but I've been waiting on the good weather for drying and there hasn't been any:mad:
DS just rang me from school to say he has his first grading report(sounds like america doesn't it?).I think he really rang so he could be seen to be using his mobile in the free period,as he will bring the report home anyway;)
He forgot his sandwiches this morning so was in the Costa Coffee shop in the 6th form common room.I said at least he would be able to get a bite to eat and he said (as though it hadnt occured to him) yes they do these lovely cheesy toasty things !:rotfl:
No gardening today as the veg patch looks like a quagmire. The cats dont care though and happily patter across the floor leaving pretty little paw prints everywhere(bless them).

been without my Anti-d's for the last few days as my prescription ran out and I didn't have time to get the new one filled. Finally did it yesterday and took the first one in 4 days so I think it may be that.

Crikey, me too. Ran out on Sunday, only took the repeat prescription into doctors on wednesday so hopefully my prozac is waiting for me at the pharmacy today. That means a 20 min walk in the rain with 3 toddlers but I need them so off we go :o Feels like I have been on them forever.

Nothing done today, OH away till Sunday and kids are wearing me down. Hopefully my mood will pick up tomorrow, allI want to do now is go back to bed.

Am waiting on news from a friend in Florida, we cant make contact so I going to call he MILlater to see if she knows anything.

    Have a good day all.

Good morning all from an infrequent poster on the daily diary.
You early risers take a lot of beating.

We were woken early this morning 7 ish . The postman was trying to ram a package through the letter box. I got up to take it from him. It was dark and pouring with rain.

Had to open the parcel then as it was from my friend in Australia and always exciting.
Inside were Christmas presents. Yes! The first ones received. I haven't even thought about what to send her. Friend always includes a Steve Parish views of Australia calendar. Always so beautiful. Lovely coloured pictures and a pleasure to wake up and look at golden beaches, sunny days, mountains and in this one Whitsunday islands. Post took 3 days from Oz.
Quicker than some mail in Britain.

This afternoon we're going to visit my aunt who was 94 this week. She's still well and active except that her memory is failing. Can remember the past but can't remember what was said an hour ago. Old age is a curse.

Auntie tells me that I was a shy child and hid under the table when anyone came into the house! My mother bless her (long departed) said she sent me to Brownies to overcome shyness. I'm over all that now and quite confident.

foreverskint your quote 'onwards and upwards' made me think back as that was our school motto at Camden school for Girls' in London many moons ago. I can see myself in the bottle green blazer and skirt and beret with a pleated cockade. Blazer badge had 'onwards and upwards' embroidered on.
Thanks fs for bringing back those memories.

Queenie many thanks for all the blessings you wish on others. Hope your son is okay. What a shock for him and you. We live in a crazy world. Enjoy the half term with your boys.

We'll be looking after our granddaughters (13 & 10) for a couple of days during the week. Always fun and they keep us on the go. Hope the weather is good so we can take them out.
Daughter and grandsons (7 & 2) will be coming down from Suffolk for the day during half term too . Always nice to have them here.

Anyone been watching 'Come dine with me' Channel 4 about 4pm? Different groups of people unknown to each other put on a dinner party and the others award points for the meal and evening. £1000 goes to the winner.
    Different people each week.
Last night an Aussie bloke cooked crocodile and kangaroo. It didn't go down too well with the guests. Don't think he will be getting the £1000.

The menus all look good but I bet not half as tasty as some that MSEs post.

The sun is shining now and hope the bright day brings relief to all those with problems and not feeling well.

I don't know how to link the smileys etc on here but hope the rest of the day is good for all.

Ive actually got dressed in normal clothes today as I had to go out and all and not in pj's. My clothes are so baggy on me-size 12 jeans too big...lol...its not possible. I used to be a size 30/32  OH has to drop a letter somewhere later so may go for the drive and have a hair appointment at 3.45-so will probably drop cleaner off at the same time. Morning all :D (well, as I start this, it's still morning:))

At least it's still on page 1 (if you set your preferences to 40 posts per page I find it a lot easier :D)

Anyway - not too OS yet. DS said he doesn't like the HM bread anymore - I said well hard luck :D However, did have a few shop bought wholemeal rolls in freezer so he's happily gone with one of those. I shall be experimenting with making my own soon :D As long as I can get really soft crusts, I should be fine.

I've taken DS2 to speech therapy. He's coming on really well too. I'm so pleased. Also found out last week he can write his own name - I keep finding bits of paper with his name on it :) His reading's quite advanced for his age too (not yet 3 1/2) which is suppose is a benefit of speech therapy.

Anyway - been to B&Q and bought a vat of el cheapo paint. I need to decorate but the dining room has this disgusting blown vinyl on (shades of brown and peach) and I don't have time to strip it before Xmas so am going to paint it, so need lots of cheap paint to do the first coats with. I need to paint the kitchen, bathroom/loo and re-do stairs as well as completely gut our bedroom. I'm going to start next week when Mr TM is around to entertain DS's. He's taking DS camping thiw weekend - he runs DoE camps, so I expect lots of wet clothes on Sunday :D

OK - need to get DS to pre-school, then a general tidy up. Tea will be a quick job - I want to use up all those last bits of fish-finger and burgers left over from BBQ season, so will do them with beans and chips. It won't kill us for once. I've had HM soup and crumpets for lunch and will have a fruity pud - rhubarb crumble perhaps.

OK - it's gone 12 so afternoon everyone and have a good one :D

Very late in posting today :o had a hospital appointment this morning and OH turned the alarm clock off rather than snoozing it as he didn't like it going off  so things were a bit of a rush, wasn't at the hospital for too long so that's good need to have some more tests though. Had to fight back in the traffic - weather's horrid here and the traffic is bad enough when it's dry

Done some washing up since and mad OH a big mug of coffee as he's staying and working here for a bit. Need to finish the washing up now and my big thing is to really carefully sit down and make a shopping list, plan meals etc. We're pretty good with making a shopping list now and sticking to it - but not very good at thinking up meals when we're making the list - so I'm going to do it on my own today and think I'm shopping on my own as OH might want to go up to the University for a bit.

Need to make some more cakes and change our bed too today.

Off to Birmingham tomorrow as SIL2B has just started university there and we're going to see her for lunch and do a bit of shopping probably just checked and I've been paid but not quite enough so need to wait for pay slip so I can check what they've paid me for - at least I've earnt enough to pay my half of the rent on the 1st November without having to go into the money I've got left from working over the summer on the summer school (that'll pay for council tax, bills etc  )

Anyway better get on with it all - you lot make me feel like a right slacker :o

CQ - please extend my apologies to your DS - one of mine was in a foul mood when I woke him and he thought *that* was early LOL ... wait until I tell him the effect I had on *your* son this morning :D (his wee mind will boggle ;) ) :rotfl:

LOL! :D DS has his alarm set for 6.30am anyway ... so he can press snooze a dozen times before finally clambering out of bed  ... so he wasn't too upset at being woken up early ;)

I clambered into bed as he was leaving for school and managed to get a couple of hours sleep but I missed a delivery  :wall: ... with it being Friday I'll now have to wait till Monday for them to re-deliver, but luckily it wasn't anything I need urgently.

jo - clocks go back ..... Sunday 30th October :D

Are you definitely sure about this hun? Not that I'm doubting you or anything as I thought it was the 30th too, but someone mentioned on radio that it was this weekend, so now I'm not so sure

purplegirluk1 - Congrats on getting a new kitty :T ... you might want to go and read my post: Guidelines for Cats to find out a bit more about their habits and needs ;) :D

Well, I'm going to sit here and have another :coffee: and a browse, then go have a soak in the bath before DS gets home I think. I'm not cooking tonight as he's making cheese & potato pie at school, so we can have that for tea with maybe some beans or something!

  • Hi (sneaking in)
Stuck waiting in for the landlord today so after the panic of extra cleaning I've done the first phase of apple cheese - it takes ages to peel & thinly slice 10lbs of apples. Next time i think i might cheat and grate them via food processor.

We have people coming over for the weekend of 17th/18th december which involves a traditional meal of 13 dishes with no meat & no milk - so today is recipe deciding day. Very early i know but have to get replies from eveyone about what they can't eat.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!
