    Hello all,

Have taken children to school and then called in tesco to get all things needed to make christmas cake and chritmas puddings from the delia book.. I started to soak the fruit and then noticed that the puddings should be made 6 to 8 weeks before used.. that would make it the end on october.. has anyone made them this early???

    Hello

Well, been to mum's and done some cleaning, picked DS2 up from pre-school and we've had lunch. BM is on and after I've finished my :coffee: I'm going to make a start on cleaning the kitchen. Yesterday I did baking then decided to make CQ's curry base - which meant we ended up eating a gorgeous lamb bhuna for tea last night. It's the best curry I've ever made, apparently, so CQ, thanks :D I did tell him it was your recipe, too :)

However, Mr TM 'cleaned' the kitchen last night :( Needless to say, the DW hasn't been switched on and the hob never saw a cloth. To think I gave it a good going over a couple of days ago as well :)

    catchya later

Had a PM a couple of days ago from apprentice tycoon and it was another great suggestion by her about the birthdays being added to this thread ;)

Apprentice Tycoons a HER?? Sorry, for some unknown reason I thought she was a HE:rotfl: Sorry AT, nothing personal, honestly:o I have no idea why I thought it???? Anyway, fab idea & Hippo Birdy (as we say in the Lillibet household) to all age-celebrating MSE'rs today.

I've all but given up posting on this thread because the housework & chores seem to get done somehow without thinking about them these days...makes me wonder why I made such a fuss of them before Spud came along. Not trying to belittle anyone who is struggling, just seem to have other priorities now which makes the house work seem insignificent and not worth making a fuss over. I guess if you want to learn to seriously multi task, get a baby! They make you get organized like never before!!! (And my nickname was Monica BEFORE he arrived!)
Honey chicken casserol in the slow cooker, rice to go with it cooked & just needs re-heating, kitchen cleaned, bed changed & laundry blowing on the washing line, some Xmas shopping done, thats enough for one day so am now about to collapse on the sofa for a couple of hours play time & talking to the dribble monster:D

    Hi all

I don't post often as I work full time so not a lot of time for OS'ing. OH cooks dinner every night (from scratch) BUT I have taken delivery of my BM today and having read thru the recipe book...can't wait to have a go :D Oh...I arrange for my childminder to have my son for an extra hour and a half on Mondays so I can dash home and do my ironing first....so I s'pose that's something OS for the day.

    Have a good day all,

    yes, a middle-aged grey-haired cat-loving laydeeee

I think it's the name that does it - it looks so, I dunno....young, thrusting and eager :rotfl: er, not me exactly :o I didn't really spend a lot of time thinking about it, my first post was a self employed tax question so it seemed appropriate for that area of the board, Old Style came later.

You can read such a lot into the names that people give themselves and I think that some of the saddest are seen on the debt free wannabe board, I won't quote them but they just look to be filled with worry and angst. I don't think that it's good for your state of mind to lumber yourself with a sad and miserable name even if that's how you feel, it would bring me down each time I saw it, I'd feel lifted by a more up-beat name and perk up each time I saw it written down, a bit like wearing bright coloured clothes....I'm rambling again, I'm off...

Just taken a peek and know what you mean I know when I first posted on here I took my name for that reason, but now I've used this more, I feel more like an oldtimer! Still I hope it's not too down beat.

    Afternoon all,

Had a really nice weekend, walk in the country park, out for lunch, library and lots of house work done.

Working today and little one is currently napping, will need to wake him soon tho as need to go on the school run. Started working at 7.30am and last one goes home at 5 today..then it's feed my 2 and off out to parents evening, then home to feed me and DH....long day.

Did chicken in the slow cooker yesterday - DH kept saying it needed more liquid....he was pleasntly shocked with the outcome tho.....enough chicken left for a pasta and cheesey chicken for me and DH tonight and chicken and veg pie tomorrow.

Got a book on salt dough from the library, looking forward to making some later in the week........ohh little one's stirring....my cue to go!

    Have a good one all...

    Afternoon all,

Am very please as my SC had arrived :T , have just spent the last 20 mins chopping frantically in order to have enough veg in it for a MASSIVE curry. Should do dinner tonight a make another 3 meals for freezer :D

Can't wait to have yummy curry smells drifting through the house. Hope it goes OK, have guestimated on the quantities so might be a bit dodgy!

DD2 just waking so will have to go to her in a mo, DD! watching tele, DS watching mummy type. Nothing done in terms of cleaning today - slacker so will get on and do that now.

    Bye all,
    Al.

    YAY!

Good news....DH has got a £2000 payrise. After unburdening myself on debt free wannabe yesterday someone from Heaven was smiling down upon us as this was the news he went into work to today!!!

    So I have been granted a reprieve! I'm a born-again moneysaver.

I'm going to try to save money so hard!!!

I have got £47 (after petrol) to last me ten more full days. Money saving things I have done today is: Take my lunch (it's not unheard of for me to take in a lunch, but even when I do I buy special/nice things). Today I took what I had in which was a tin of soup, a packet of crisps and an apple. I didn't go to the vending machine (hot chocolate is 20p and I usually have two). I also walked home for 2 miles and saved £1.20 bus fare.
