    Morning All!
congrats PW and AB!!! sure you will do a fab job!!

house looks quite tidy this morning so not much to do on the house work front hooray! dark wash in machine..looks a dry day today so will get it on line. small pile of ironing to do (mainly school jumpers and trousers tho), got to let chickens out in a mo and do their food and water.

no loaf in BM today as have plenty sliced in freezer for toast. still need to make biscuits lol was going to do it yesterday but slacked off, however did make chocolate flapjacks for kids breaktime snack for school next week so must cut and wrap in clingfilm today.

ive been reading all the wintery posts with great interest...i have quite a big 4 bedroom house, 2 windows in kitchen/diner only one of which has curtain, front room sorted, bathroom and mine and babies room sorted but the two other bedrooms have nothing at the window, so am looking for a cheap solution to that problem...there are no poles up either so any ideas on a cheap window covering anyone?

cant wait to get into the october challenges tomorrow! have plenty in freezers and cupboards so will be trying to shave as much off shopping bill as i can! (hopefully that can be put towards curtains or the like)

need to use up eggs today so maybe scrambled eggs for lunch methinks as for dinner...somethink from the freezer today!

    have a good day all!
    and happy birthday MATH!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep Monkeylugs you guessed it! I'm having a Slimming World green day. I just boiled up the potatoes, mashed them with a little skimmed milk and the tiniest amount of marg, spooned it into an ovenproof dish, grated on the cheese and seasonings and bunged it under the grill for a few minutes. It's yummy with either tinned spaghetti, baked beans or tinned tomatoes. OH loves it and doesn't moan at me for making him 'diet' foods!

My husband loved it when I was following Slimming World because he'd come home to find succulent steaks and roast chicken dinners (I would do potatoes for him)! I had to stop following red days though because it got expensive. Now I'm doing Weight Watchers. Good luck!

    Morning all!

I crashed out early last night, I fell asleep in front of the tv at 10 and then went to bed at midnight, but I feel great this morning now ive had a good sleep!

I intend to get all the household stuff done today, cleaning and laundering and ironing etc, then this afternoon I intend to have a nice long bath and read some of my stuff for work as I need to learn some more about the various products for promotion purposes (I have my eye on it already!). A part time woman really annoyed me yesterday - I dont think she realises that she is actually quite patronising in how she says things and even though I have only been there 4 weeks I know how to do my job and there is no need for her to question the logic of certain things that my manager told me was correct!!!! She annoyed me that much at one point that she totally distracted me from what I doing, (she could see that I was busy!!) and I ended up having to go through the whole days work when we closed because of a discrepancy. Stupid goddam woman! I apologise as this is turning into a bit of a rant, but it also took her over half an hour to serve a customer that should have taken no more than 5 minutes and even the customer was getting annoyed with it (talk about wastings everybodys time) and there was a massive queue anyway! And then the stupid woman annoyed me again by closing down her till just to read her emails - when I have been on a training course for 2 days and have a lot of work to do! AAARRGGGHHHHHH. Thank god I only have to work with her on a saturday......

(rant over!) Im going to make something chicken for dinner probably with some chips and peas and then im going to watch ep2 of series 2 of lost (downloaded) before bed. But right now, im going to pack my work bag with all the information I need and have a read through some of it so I know what I have to do for my development training and go through some paperwork and mail that needs to be dealt with...

I have to work next saturday too so its going to be an exhausting one.... And I need to fit in shopping and bills budgeting too.....

    What a nightmare!

    Hello everyone

Had a dreadful night's sleep - the 'red wine insomnia' kicked in at 1am and that was me until about 5 :( My uncle died yesterday - it was a relief fror him, although only 66, but mum and aunt still came here for their tea. Well, someone has to look after both of them for a bit. So, I did leg of lamb in SC, roasties, roasted veg, steamed veg and lots of gravy - and I surprised my mum despite being, as I told them of MATH's phrase "marinaded in sherry", by serving it all up and it was lovely. Had made a sticky ginger cake earlier in day but took it out of the tin too soon and it fell to bits, so had it with custard for pud.

Blitzed downstairs yesterday, just need to do the mountain of ironing today, but might save that for tonight when I watch Martin Shaw - a week of him at 9pm every night - bliss :D May start sorting in earnest for the car boot my friend and I are doing on 30/10 (indoor one)

Mr TM is out for the day with his cadets, so have promised boys I'll take them out today - but threatened a walk. DS1 wanted to go into town (2 chances :D) It looks quite bright here today, so may have a tromp through the woods.

    Have a good day and

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATH

  • Good morning everyone!

I've actually been up since 7.30am, but I'm still in my dressing gown - aren't Sundays bliss!!

I washed all DD's school uniform yesterday (and managed to line dry it!!) so I've just got to iron it today! I fished last years winter coat out of the airing cupboard and got her to try it on (yipee it still fits!! I bought it 2 years ago from Next £40!! but now I know it's going to do her for a 3rd year I'm ecstatic!)

Had my shop from Sainsburys delivered yesterday and he was 9 minutes late so I got a £10 voucher off my next shop - DD couldn't understand why I was dancing round the house at 12.02!!!

Today we're going to have roast turkey, HM yorkies, roast tatties, stuffing, veg, bread sauce and gravy - yum! Normally I make too much batter and we have toad in the hole on Monday's but everyone's getting a bit bored by that so I'm going to cook loads of yorkies and freeze them so they're ready for the next 2 or 3 weeks!

I've resigned myself to the fact that Summer is well and truly over so today I'm going to sort all the Summer clothes out and pack them in our suitcases - we're going to the Dominican Republic for Christmas!! I just hope DD's still fit her by then!!

Anyway off for a relaxing bath (DH is working again!! Bless him he's doubled his wage this month all the OT he's been doing!!)

    Have a good day everyone!
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Hi everyone,

It's 8pm here and I'm ready to hit the sack. We've been away for the weekend up north. A wedding. It was a very late night :beer:with not much sleep and been on the road for most of the day. Got home around lunch and unpacked, put a load of washing on etc. We are off again to the city tomorrow for the day and will be leaving at 5am. It takes about 3 1/2 hrs drive. We'll be back at night.

DH has the air con in the lounge at the mo. I can hear it. He has shut the door to try and block out the noise. He calls me the power nazi.:D It's not even hot for goodness sake. I'm too weary to nag him. Broke my shoe last night. Too much dancing. :o On a more cheerful note, I do love shoe shopping. :T Have a nice Sunday everybody.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

so am looking for a cheap solution to that problem...there are no poles up either so any ideas on a cheap window covering anyone?

Try looking in Argos for cheapie rails and charity shops for curtains......you can always look for flannelette sheets at the charity shop and use them to line curtains with, not difficult to do cut the sheets to the size of the curtains plus an inch on the sides and 5 inches on the bottom, iron over half an inch on the sides and top, make a double 2 1/2" fold on the bottom and either tack or slip stitch up, the linings should be just slightly shorter than the curtains themselves, slip stitch the top to the tape under the hooks at the top and to the turn under on the sides.
