  • have fun with clay pigeon shooting. I would love to have another go, after my last disastrous attempt about 20 years ago, (pulled the trigger too early and nearly shot the instructor:eek: ).

.................................second thoughts maybe I should steer well clear;) :rotfl:

    You have a gun?

And Mr. TM knows this and will not adhere to Old Style ;)

I would love to tell DH that I was learning to shoot - can you imagine the look on his face?

We appear to be having quorn for tea - maybe a stirfry. However, I also have a packet of tortilla wraps in my cupboard (a little out of date but they look OK). Never used them before so suggestions on the back of a matchbox please :D

Morning all - Took 6 to school this morning and came back with 2, been out for a while to a play centre to let them run off steam and both are now fast asleep - bless!

Our beef in the SC last night was lovely - DH has taken some for work today and I think there's half a bowl left for me in a mo. Need to get cracking and make a leek and potato soup for tonight - will bung it all in the SC whilst they're all asleep. Will bung a loaf going too and then off in the rain to collect the other 4 from school...they're all here until 5.30pm tonight so that will be fun!!

    Have a good one all.

Haha - yes Chez Mouse does indeed possess a gun :D However, it IS Mr TM's - he inherited it off his dad. He wants a new one but we can't afford one (luckily) My poor sis has to contend with 2 gun cupboards in her house - 6 guns at last count I believe  And BIL wants another one! I think I'm lucky in that Mr TM has got himself a guitar for Xmas :) (Mind you - when he sings, I wish he was out shooting :D)

Girlpower - has no-one warned you about the bruises? That's why it is important to keep the stock pulled right into your shoulder - the gun will have a fair old recoil and when you see someone shoot, you will see it. You may think that if you don't pull the gun into your shoulder, then it won't hurt (as much) but believe me, that's when it will hurt. Your instructor will tell you all this, I'm sure. :) However, it is good fun and honestly, I came back with only a couple of small bruises (caused mainly by the fact it was winter and I'd so many layers of clothing I couldn't readjust the gun fast enough for the second shot so it recoiled into the top of my arm.)

Have fun and tell us all about it.

Already been to Aqua Aerobics this morning - hardly anyone there as the weather wasn't great here first thing but glad I went and did it. Have booked to go next Monday and Wednesday again next week - half term here so no chance of supply work, but do have an hour each day doing a campus tour lined up so 2 lots of aqua aerobics will keep to occupied in the mornings ;)

Anyway got back here at 11 (having showered and washed/dried hair at swimming pool - saving my electric and water bill :T ) already done 1 load of washing - it's just finished so I'm about to take the dry stuff off the airer and put the wet stuff on it then get another load waiting to go on.

Just been catching up on here and with emails. Sold 5 videos on the university small ads hopefully just arranging delivery now - another £4 in the selling stuff fund. And the Uni second hand book shop are interested in the two books I emailed them about yesterday so hopefully will take them up there today and get rid of them (one was practically free as tesco messed up the delivery - long story), and think I'm going to see if I can deliver my operation Christmas Child shoe boxes to the lady at the university who is collecting them through her church - just need to do labels etc.

Lunch will be soup and bread I think, dinner is sausages and waffles, got youth club tonight too (I help out with a duke of edinburgh group there) so plenty to do.

Think I'm going to go and see if the posties been yet - really miss not having a letter box into my property - I look sad when I keep running up and down the stairs all the time to keep checking if the postie has been to my mail box :o - wish I hadn't gone down now - council tax bill has arrived  First year I've not been a student so first time we've had a bill - at least we only have to pay 2/3 because OH is still a student - but University won't issue certificate to say he is a student until the middle of November so we'll have to pay all of the November installment and then hopefully the others will be reduced - last thing I needed. Anyway at least I got a double points coupon and a few other coupons from Boots - so they'll help and a swap from another site and a residents parking reduction badge - better hope I can get selling things

Back from the docs and I got the all clear. He asked if I want to come off the pill as I've been getting pressure like pains in my legs which he thinks is just soft tissue (well at 16 stones there is plenty of tissue and fat to cause such problems) so I said I'll carry on and get it checked next time I need a new pescription as we can't afford another child ATM. He also checked my bloodpressure and that was fine so I'm not as worried now, but I'm going to start keeping track of when I get these pains and how long they last so I can give him more info next time.

Called into Somerfields on the way home and finally managed to get a Saver card - only been trying since they introduced them! I stocked up on some reduced stuff (just had Duck and orange pate on a slice of bread/buns for my lunch  ), some bits I've not seen in Asda and some beef steak so I can make a big hearty stew tomorrow to use up all the odds and ends in the fridge before we go away for the weekend ;) I also picked up 6 packets of Colemans sauces :o BUT they are going to be used over the next couple of weeks for some treat meals that even OH can manage while I try to get all the Christmas shopping done.

Speaking of Christmas shopping, I've set myself a deadline to get it all (apart from my Nanas) by November 21st. I want to then spend the following week or so doing the little decorating jobs around the house (like re-painting the livingroom) before I start getting Xmas decorations out around the 1st December (We'll be away this year so I always argue that the decs should go up on the 1st so that we can enjoy them ;):D ). I also need to get OH to paint the ceiling in the hallway, might be a job next weekend when we're home ;)

Right, going to put some washing on and then I'm off out to a charity shop with some donations (things that haven't sold on ebay) and to have a nose at what they have ;)
