Oooh yes - and CQ - it's nice to see it's one of my posts too :D

Anyway - enough is enough so I went to Curry's for a new lead. After being ignored, then a man queue jumping, to which I interjected and he said 'oh, sorry, didn't see you there'!! I was wearing a lilac coat - quite noticeable. Anyway - Curry's don't do 'em, PC World wanted £25  so cheaper to drive into town and go to the camera shop. Will get photographing now - but I've missed the best natural light :( Oh well.

Al, that's terrible about your friend. TBH, if she'd just put the light on and shouted downstairs, she would have scared the little bleeders off - their biggest fear is being seen and therefore recognised again.

Glad you got sorted out in the end TM, but I didn't realise a replacement lead would so expensive!!

I intend selling the old camera if I can find the damned lead, as it's not much use without one! but I don't want to have to buy a new one first :( ... maybe I'll list it on Ebay explaining the missing lead as someone might have one already

Nice to see you back online again Vicky :T ... hope you're settling in ok :)

AH - that's terrible what happened to your friend but try not to worry yourself too much about the same happening to you. As Nick wotsisface on Crimewatch says ... don't have nightmares! ... crime isn't as common as people think (although you wouldn't believe it to read the news! ) I think it does make us aware of our own security thoug when it happens to someone you know.

    Well, I'm absolutely cream crackered!!!

Everywhere's all sparkly clean now (well apart from bedrooms but they ain't gonna get to see them :D ) ... and I'm all showered and dressed

I've got some veggies simmering in a pot of chicken stock leftover from the other night and in a moment I'll go chop up a (cooked) chicken breast and pop it in along with some dumplings - might do some herby ones with lemon & thyme

But right now I am sitting here with a glass of wine (very nice it is too! ... a NZ rose) and chilling out for 5 minutes :D

    Hope everyone's had a lovely day! :A

Went to a local seaside town for a walk along the seafront and to look round the Sunday market. Got my Xmas wrapping paper, 10 sheets for 70p, and some winter pansies that I have planted in pots at the front of the house.

Have put the garden furniture away for the winter and tidied the shed.

Made OH a sponge cake, dinner is on too- potato wedges with creme fraiche and Quorn pork style ribsters. Yum!

Tonight will just relax on the sofa in front of the TV!
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)

    Evening all,

Not a very eventfull weekend, DD's had their "annoying"heads on and have spent the entire weekend bickering!

Yesterday was spent mostly at PC world taking back all the bits that DH has spent the last 3 weekends trying to install to give us a wireless network....we'd need to have the computers all within 5 ft of each other near enough to get it to work!!!!! Popped into ASDA to do the shop and spent far to much money.

Went off to the beach this morning as it was bright and breezy, flew kits, dug holes, built castles and had a general blow through....was great. DD's have helped me paint some dough models this afternoon and we've generally had a relaxing time of it.

Will crack on tomorrow with some baking and cleaning, need to keep on top of it all this week as it's half term next week!

Hope you all have a good evneing.

  • Hello all:j one day I will post on here with my daily plans and not always what it is I have actually done! Doubt I will ever start a thread though:D bit early for me!

Well I managed an hour in the garden again today as a special treat for cleaning the house top to bottom - I had to mop the kitchen floor 3 times before I was happy with it - does anybody know any good ways to cut through a greasy floor other than Flash! I do wonder how it gets so bad as there is only me living here!

So I sat in my garden reading Harry Potter ( I am taking my time because I dont want to finish it!) felt a little bit guilty because there was no washing on the line and it been such a perfect day for drying but I really did have none to do! I even contemplated washing my bedding again and it doesnt need it!

Anyway the house looks lovely again (although I must tackle a declutter soon) and I am ready for work again - where did that weekend go. Thinking of doing something in the slow cooker tomorrow but that may well stay as a thought!:o

Inapickle - have you decided on a bread maker yet? I would love to hear your feedback. By the way your day sounded wonderful I hope you enjoyed your picnic and walk

  • Thanks Miss Marple

I am still thinking about the breadmaker so thought I would start baking by hand first just to be sure I would use all the bread before making the investment. At the moment I make 2 x 1lb loaves and freeze one when cool.

The sky clouded over almost as soon as I had written earlier so the picnic was in front of the TV in the end, but it still tasted very nice. The home grown toms were wonderful.

Your spell in the garden with the book sounds a well-earned treat

I had some very nice pumpkin recipes which I got recently so added them to the pumpkin thread, but maybe they should have gone on the recipe thread, I am not sure so apologies to all if I got it wrong.icon11.gif

:) In the pumpkin thread is fine. A general rule of thumb sort of thing is that if a thread is about a food type thing it'll end up in the Cooking section of the MEGA Index when I catch up.

It's when a recipe turns up in a different more mixed thread and might get lost that I ask if it could go into the collection to make it easier to find.

But you, and anybody, is more than welcome to add to the collection if you want to. It's your collection, not mine... I just index it :)

    Hello everybody,
I've not been very well these last few days so apologies for not writing sooner.
I went to town the other day to get some bread and milk and tripped on my doorstep and have sprained my ankle you see.

My nephew phoned the doctor for me in case I had broken it.

I have been told to rest by the doctor.

I'll get those recipes posted as soon as I can manage to walk around a bit better.

    Get well soon.
My wife sprained her ankle a couple of days ago and she said the pain was terrible.
