Not had much chance to browse Old Style lately as have started a new job and all my time on MSE is taken up catching up with the Freebies board.

Had a nice day today - in spite of being woken up by my son at 5.30am this morning. Had a fun day outdoors activity organised at local reservoir which was nice.

Spent the afternoon watching some of the free DVDs collected from the Daily Mail this last week and pottering outside while the OH built a new rabbit run.

Planning to make some Millionaires Choc Shortbread with my little one tomorrow or Mon, so looking on here for a recipe. I can remember making them when I was little and know they were really easy (and lovely). *Edit: found some recipes HERE

Hope the rest of the weekend goes well for everybody. :)

    Hiya Everyone

I don't think I've been on first. :j:D I haven't done a great deal of OS today. I'm still a bit crook from this darn flu. Finally went to the doctor's after having it nearly two weeks & I had bronchitis. Oops. I'm one of those disgustingly healthy people that rarely get sick. Think it was about 15 years ago last time I got a wog. Lucky, as everybody here is getting sick of me telling them how sick I am. :p

I did do the washing today. It rained all day yesterday. Miracles do happen. Tanks full & garden a fetching colour of green. I also worked on my budget this afternoon. Seems to be keeping on track this month. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. And don't forget if you can't be good, be careful. :D

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning

Had to be brave this morning and pack OH & DD off for the day. I really didnt want to be myself today, but tried not to let it show, then when they went about 15mins ago-I just burst into tears-once the door was shut of course :o there not going to be back till 6-7 and am really dreading today. Why cant I just be well, its so not fair-what have I done in my life thats so bad to warrant this  I hurt when I stand, sit, move, breathe-maybe its all in my mind.

OH peeled the spuds last night for me and have promised there will be a roast dinner ready-even if it kills me! DW is on and the house is clean and tidy so not alot to do, but am sure I will find bits.

    Aussielass - :hello:
Bronchitis  hopefully now you've been to the Dr's you'll go from strength to strength. ((hugs))

In the past couple of days I've managed to stock the freezer up a bit, so I'm very pleased with myself LOL
Don't need the oven on today because I cooked the joint of beef last night when I got home. :j

Sainsburys had their Luxury Mixed Fruit on BOGOF so I bought up a few packs and put a couple of them into marinade with the spices for a Christmas Cake - it'll be a couple of days before the boys can *make* the cake, but that's ok; every day that I stir the fruit marinade it will scent out the house  :D

Wishing you all a super Sunday :D:D

    HugsandKisses.gif

I dont know what where or why, so forgive me if I stick my foot in it (i'm good at that) - but look at today as "me" time instead and kick back and chill in the piece and quiet?

Today is cleaning day! Whey, lucky me! Going to attack the bathroom with the steam cleaner and get those tiles cleaned

Have a Pork joint for a late lunch that I am going to oven roast, lashings of HM apple sauce, an entire tray of roasties just for me and yorkie puds.
I think I may give the rest of the family cereals............! lol :rotfl:

Also, bidding on some crochet stuff at the moment on Ebay - get it cheap and see if I like it! I need to find another hobby thats keeps me busy.

    Have a nice day all!
  • Hi All

Not posted lately as eldest daughter has been really ill in hospital and I have spent most of the last 4-5 weeks in there with her. She is still in there but is slowly getting a bit better. Fingers crossed.

Anyway her Dad is spending the afternoon with her today so I'm going to blitz the house as I haven't cleaned for ages. I'm going to do a menu plan tonight and then do an online shop as we've been living on takeaways and rubbish. I also need to look at the budget as I haven't a clue where I am with anything.

    Morning all!:hello:

Sorry to hear you're not having a good day P-P!!!

Up around 6.30am (a lie in for me!!) Have already done most of the ironing (although have 2-3 loads to wash again today!) Where does all this washing come from??????

OH off to the football later. Its a massive local derby so I just hope they win (or he'll be miserable for the rest of the day!)

My plans are to try & get on with the cleaning, not sure how much I'll get done with 2 kids in tow!!! Roast chicken for dinner later, need to get organised and prepare veg etc!

Have a great day all!!!!

    Morning all.

Hugs to those that need them.

Charlotte- is crochet easier to do than knitting? And can you crochet scarves etc? When I was young my nana triued to teach me to knit and I just couldn't get the hang of it, but I would love to be able to make scarves etc.

Well, we did all the house cleaning yesterday so not much to do. My Dad and his wife came round and when they left at 10.30 OH said "let's leave the washing up till tomorrow" cos he was tired, but I wasn't so tired so stayed up and washed all the dishes. I was glad of it when I came down this morning.

We bought a new duvet yesterday- our bed is only a standard double but OH has a tendency to pull the covers off me during the night leaving me chilly! So I decided to buy a king size duvet. I bought a Tesco Value one for just over £10, and a duvet cover from Argos for £10 too. It was lovely last night staying fully covered up!

Today I would like to order my new glasses on the internet. I know it's a bit of a gamble, but I've done my research and THB can't afford to pay how much it would be in an optician, so fingers crossed when I get my glasses they will be fine.

OH has FINALLY finished tiling the bathroom (he started in June!!)and hopefully today he will put the cabinet up on the wall. It will be so nice having a finished bathroom to use.

    Hvae a good day all,
    Sarah

Hope your dd makes a full recovery. Sending "Get Well" wishes.
(And extending those to you too - the worry, the stress and sheer energy needed at times like these must be most debililating!! )
