Well if I can get DD2 to play quietly for 5 minutes I am going to dry my apples and get the brewing kit on that I bought at the boot sale on Wednesday. It makes 10 pints and cost me £3 so if it works it will be well worth it.

Just got back from Lidl and found they had jobs there - So I think im sending boyf to get a job tomorrow! The pay is good so he can work less hours than he needs to, so he can spend the rest of the time doing his music - we had a big chat last night and he realises he has to work, but doesnt want to give up music yet which I totally understand, I wouldnt want to inflict the hell that is working full time for rubbish pay on him when he has a talent that shouldnt be wasted.

Ive come to the realisation that im going to have to change jobs after xmas sometime as the pay simply isnt enough, but im also feeling very unfulfilled in what im doing, the customers are awful (i simply dont understand what has happened to this country over the last few years, everyone is so mean these days which annoys me as they seem to take out their own personal frustrations on everyone else. I had a particularly awful woman in the other day - face like a slapped !!!!!! and a real bad attitude when we hadnt even done anything wrong) and the thought of doing this for the rest of my life seems like the worst imaginable prospect, so I think I have to find my calling and go for it. (I already know what it is - I just need to get the experience needed to go and make some money from it).

On that vein - I need to start saving money so I can invest the £ needed to set the whole thing up, so MSE is still my favourite friend.

Anyway - back on topic - I spent £11.80 in Lidl - and got quite a bit of stuff which should see us through the week to my pay day easily enough, and the cat loves the food, i got her the posh lidl cat food and she started eating and purring like mad then went on a running around like crazy mission and tired herself out. She's now in my bed taking a nap!

Anyway - Im feeling a bit better now ive put my brains on the screen - so im going to have a cuppa then start preparing the roast.

    have a lovely day all!

  • :rotfl: you do know how to put a smile on my face hun :D

I'm currently running around like a headless chicken cleaning up as I have a man coming round this evening to look at a snake with view to buying her, and NOBODY is allowed in (barring the kids) unless the flat is spick and span :o

I'm supposed to be tidying my desk at the moment but keep getting distracted by MSE ;)

Anyway, just how can a desk, which was clean and only had two neat piles of paperwork on it a week ago, descend into a shamble with a pile of books, letters, various boxes of medication, bubble wrap and gods knows what else on it in such a short space of time???

I aim to please CQ, just tucked the bottom of my trousers into my socks at the thought of snakes anywhere

One tip, when the desk gets too bad, I just shift to the laptop icon12.gif
  • Hi,

Hope everyone is having a nice afternoon icon7.gif.

I spent this morning making bread the old fashioned way, by hand, and have to say I'd forgotten how satisying kneading dough could be. Used a mix of wholemeal and white flour which usually gives a really tasty loaf.

Its cooling now and when it has, I'll take a thick slice or 2 with some cheese and tasty home grown toms I was given and head of for a walk and a little picnic. The sun is bright here and is really tempting me out today.

Curry Queen I laughed at your description of your desk, you could have been describing mine icon10.gif I'm trying not to look at the state of it as I type so I think I'll just keep my eyes shut untill I get out of the door. icon7.gif

Hey, CQ - when you do tidy your desk, will you see if the USB cable for my digi camera is there please : :D

Arrrrgh - I've found the camera, CD-rom, destruction booklet etc but NO USB cable and I haven't another one to fit, so bang goes my idea of listing stuff on ebay :(

Why do simple things always go wrong?
  • Ive made choc chip fairy cakes and choc chip cookies, yummy!
Ive never made cookies before and they taste lovely and gooey. I shall make those again!
They are for DD2's rainbow friends, but of course I had to try one (or two) to see how they turned out and we all had to have a cookie as Id never made them before. Must put them away quick of there will be none left for the rainbows.

    Hi everyone :hello:

CQ - nice to see that when you took the photo, you'd got Old Style on the screen :D

Those people who aren't feeling too great, I hope you get well soon and you use today as a relax, restore and pamper day. :)

This morning I traipsed off to a local wedding fair. I need a wedding dress, but not having lived round here for very long I wasn't too sure of shops/suppliers. The wedding fair was free to go to, if you registered online - which I did. What they failed to tell you was that they would charge you £2 for parking!!!! Thieving little toe-rags! Ok, so £2 isn't the end of the world, but when you only spend 1hr there, it's a bit of a rip off!

Supper is in the slow-cooker, and OH is mightily impressed with the glorious smell that is coming from the kitchen. We've also been to Tesco today, which was OH's first visit to our "local" store. It's a Tesco extra, which we're both impressed with. Because the area that it's in has a wide variety of nationalities, you can get all the bits and pieces needed for a proper curry. OH is now trying to plan our meals around what new things he can buy from Tesco!

I've only got 3 days work so far next week, which I suppose isn't too bad. One of the people that I deal with at the agency has "promised" me that I'm at the top of the list should any teacher be ill tomorrow morning.......... Fingers crossed...............

    Hi All,

Late afternoon before I get a chance to post today. I've been on the phone to a friend most of the morning, she needed calming down as she had her house broken into last night. While her, her OH and DS1 and DS2 were there sleeping

She heard them as well but thought itwas DS1 getting up to go to the loo so ignored it!

Awful, to think what might have happened had she gone downstairs to investigate, it beggars belief.

So I have spent today making sure all our windows/door locks are in good working order.

Now need to get on with the dinner, we will be eating at midnight at this rate :o

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
    Al.

    Hi Everyone

I don't normally get chance to post on the O/S daily threads but I'm feeling pleased that I've had a good moneysaving weekend. I went to one of the free She Life coaching events yesterday and got a goody bag with a magazine, chocolate and hand cream. Then today I took my two girls to a free Barbie preview screening and they each got goody bags. Plus I've made assorted scones and a pineapple upside down cake.

Hope you all have a good evening.
