Morning and hugs to all - especially those who really need them.
Had a quiet weekend. Went to the library on Saturday and got loads of Christmas booksA couple that I wanted to get out weren't there even though according to the website they were in
Ah well, I got a Fairy crafting book instead which should keep DD quiet over half-term next week.
Yesterday we actually sat down as a family and played Disney Monopoly from 12.05 until gone 2pm  We were supposed to be having a timed game of about an hour but OH was winning so he wanted to carry on playing :rotfl: Then DD went upstairs for a rest while I got on with baked apples (with mincemeat and custard), Sunday dinner and making treacle toffee  but the toffee has gone wrong and won't set
Plans for today
1) get the pans from tea last night washed.
2) Ebay parcels to do and post
3) Need to go shopping for milk and fruit and pick up a Xmas pressie from Mum for DD.
4) Xmas budget etc needs to be put on the computer/PDA
5) washing (stripped beds yesterday but had too much washing out already) if the weather improves - drizzling at the minute.
6) Hoover the kitchen floor (does a better job than the brush) and then wash the hoover filters as the suction on the hoover is hopeless!
I might even try and get our old car listing ready for uploading to Ebay on Thursday. We've got it advertised in Loot and dispite 2 phonecalls we've not managed to sell it yet.
Oh well, off to do parcel labels for Ebay parcels :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Morning all
N9eav - hope your dd is okay soon, what a rotten thing to happen on her birthday
It's also our dd's birthday today, so will ring her later on.
Very foggy here at the moment, so am debating whether to hang washing outside or in airing cupboard. Hmmmm.. decisions.
I suppose I ought to get dressed soon (excuse is that I have a stinking cold & don't feel like getting wet with a shower, but will have to get around to it soon)
At least dinner is already organised - it's HM lasagne from the freezer.0 -
Well, I feel as dead as a dodo this morning thanks to certain MSE'rs corrupting me and keeping me up half the night
:rotfl:
Decided to get up early this morning to try and break this cycle of staying up half the night and then losing the whole of the following morning. Want to try and aim to be in bed by around midnight if I can
Anyway, the BM is on already as I finished the last of yesterdays loaf munching on toast earlier this morning! I've found that the white rapid loaf in the Panasonic makes the best sandwich/toast loaf ever and takes less than 2 hrs to do :j
I'm totally out of milk, which DS was supposed to go get this morning before school as he drank the last of it last night, but looks like he forgot :wall: so can't have any brekkie till bread's done and means I can't even start on prepping dinner till he's home as we're having toad-in-hole
I think I might make the christmas cake this morning though as the fruit has been soaking in Brandy since Saturday evening (don't think I need milk for that) and maybe do a bit of decluttering in my bedroom  being as I did all the housework yesterday so not much to do on that score
Will see how much energy I've got first though :rotfl:
Hope the rest of you have a good day and *hugs* to those not feeling too well :A"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Sorry so many people are not well!!
Its my DS's birthday today(17).He is at school at the moment.
OH has taken the day off as he forgot DS would be at school(has been homeschooled so usually we take the day off on a birthday). He's using the time off constructively though as he needs to get his welder mended ,he bought it on ebay but it wasnt working properly and the seller wouldnt take it back or refund him.Just hope it isnt too expensive to fix.
Will be chicken and pineapple pizza tonight by request and a black forest gateau for after. The chicken is just cooked and cooling now.
I asked DS what he wanted to take to eat for lunch today and he has a whole family pork pie!(I think his eyes are bigger than his belly).
I spent yesterday evening digging a second mini deep bed in the vegetable patch and was quite knackered afterwards so we had shop fish and chips which was a lovely treat.0 -

LOL - mine's been steeping since Saturday evening too!!!
I'm going to wait until tomorrow before the boys make the cake up (they are following the recipe card from the supermarket and as *that* says 2-3 days, they want to follow the instructions *correctly* LOL ) Once they have conquered the recipe card version (and depending on how it turns out) I might even let them have a go at our secret recipe version ... or maybe I'll be a meany Queenie and just hand down the secret version in my will? :rotfl:
I shouldn't really have been on here today at all ... I have a HUGE amount of chicken pieces to cook up... but, I'm extra thirsty and each time I go to lift my posterior ... I think "Just one more hot drink ..."

Morning and hugs to all,
Well I have better get a move on, got someone coming to do those flase nails that don't come off at 10.30 as I bite mine and think mine may grow under the false ones if that makes any sense.
So need to get the washing out of the machine before she starts them. Rest of the day will be general tidy round and a little ironing.
Very excited as I am off work till thursday and have arranged to go clay pigeon shooting on wednesday!!!
Have a good day all.0 -

Great minds and all that!
I'm doing St Delia's recipe this year (never fails!) as I can't find my old recipe book anywhere which had granny's cake recipe in
We would have made the cake yesterday until plans were unexpectedly changed at the last minute, but I'm sure it won't harm the fruit to have an extra bit of "soaking time"
I might actually leave it this morning so DS can help and learn how to make a proper Christmas cake
I could make some Parkin instead   ... (or does that need milk  )"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Hi Girlpower,
Just wanted to say about the nails - I've had acrylics on many times before, and they're fab for giving you lovely long, strong nails if you cant grow them yourself. HOWEVER... They totally ruin your own nails underneath, as they file the surface of your nail to allow the adhesive to stick. Result is PAPER thin nails when you eventually take the acrylics (or gels or whatever) off.
If you want them cos you like the look of the 'false' nails then go for it and enjoy - but if you're only doing it to try and make your real nails grow - go for a manicure.I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
Howdy All,
:grouphug:to all that need them. Hope everybody who is having a birthday is a Happy Little Vegemite. Best of luck N9eav. I am better today.:j Hardly coughed at all today. I work tomorrow but I"m going up north on Wednesday to visit my ES & grandson. Whoo Hoo. He will be 7 months while I'm up there. He has 4 little toothy pegs.:D and Granny can't wait to get my hands on him and give him lots of kissy wissys. :rotfl:
Cleaned the house today & did the shopping. Also caught up with my ironing. It's overcast here and rain is forecast for tomorrow. Got all my washing up to date...so....Bring it ON. Bit sad I know, but we don't get a lot of rain. Anyway hope you all have a lovely day today.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
