  • Hello

First thanks to you kind people who have sent me advice on breadmakers and avatars, just spent lunchtime choosing an avatar and will look at the BM's later today. Thank you

My day has been mixed so far, washing and cleaning going well but would love to be out in the sunshine.

Elaine373 so sorry to hear about your friend's problems but well done to her for taking action about it. Take it easy yourself while fasting if you can. icon7.gif

    Hi everyone!
Gorgeous weather today- shall enjoy it on my way to paying off my credit card bill. Yipee!
We moved all our furniture around in our main room last night for the first time in years. It feels like a new house and all at no cost. Doesn't quite make up for the new kitchen I'd been promising myself pre redundancy but hey it's a start.
Plans for this evening are to bring my dolls house down and give it all a good clean and then put another coat of paint on the hall walls. Tea will be a simple affair of pasta mixed with basil, parmesan, orange and basil.

Spent most of today taking daughter out to shops.

Got a nice birthday presnt and when I got home the book people had sent a huge parcel - over £50 worth of books for about £16!

Lush sent a parcel today but only two of the four shower gels I wanted - the others have all been discontinued!!

DH tucking into home made soup from the slow cooker and a loaf is in the breadmaker.

Will make pasta for DDs and something from slimming world for me.

Big Hug to all those suffering from mindless thuggery!

I always seem to end up posting on here retrospectively - oops :o

anyway today I'm quite proud of myself, firstly I went to aqua aerobics for the first time - felt a bit like the odd one out as most were 60+ (I'm 22) but I enjoyed it and it's so much easier on my joints exercising in the water - will go again I think :A

Then I've managed to book the car and photographer for our wedding next summer (the day we wanted seems to be the only day they were free so that's lucky) - not exactly old style and thankfully it's parents money too....

Then walked into town and took coat hangers back to dry cleaners from when I got our winter coats cleaned last week (OH's is 6 years old and has never been cleaned!) apparently they give 3p per coat hanger returned to charity, then I took the out of date medicines I found during our move to boots and a bag of old foriegn coins we found at OH's parents house in between change to oxfam. Bought some bits of fabric for trying to make wedding cards, used my boots points to 'buy' a new umbrella (don't have one atm and I'm trying to walk more) and some bits in the fair trade store and a few others bits. Only 1 little carrier bag - for the fabric - all others refused.

Anyway some internet chill out now. Need to put a load of washing on and do some washing up in a minute I think and then I'm going to try and experiment with wedding invitations this evening.

We're going to make pizzas for dinner tonight - well we've bought bases again and will be doing our own toppings - know I should make the bases but no breadmaker yet and no space in our new place for one. Little steps are better than nothing though...

Tomorrow I'm going to try and get on here when I wake up and post on here - might help me plan my day better ;)

Hi Yall, Had a very busy day today clearing up after the weekend and trying to get on top of the washing so we can go back east at the weekend. Can't believe how quick the weeks gos - it's half term next week:eek:

I'm really looking forward to a week off (we're not very OS when we are at the coast) with the kids. It's parents evening tomorrow and I have promised the 3 mathlettes a treat if they get a good report. It's a given and I plan to take them to the pictures next week! shh don't tell them! If they are very very good a trip to the 'golden arche'is also on the cards. I may be Ol'Style but I'm still capable of 'luvin it':D

Other things planned are haircuts and Christmas shopping cos they have loads of pile it high sell it cheap indoor markets (my kinda places). Plently of bracing walks across the seafront and if a bag of chips should fall into my hand I sharn't complian. Although last trip I gained 4 pounds and I was only there two days. Poor ol Mrs MATH will not be joining us as she has a temp 4 week job but I think (secretly) she is looking forward to a bit off time on her own ie feet up wearing my slippers with QVC on and a box of maltesers! Bless!

Little mathelette is complaining he is unnnngrey so I'd better go a slap the dinner in the oven - catch ya tomorrow.

edit: I really should not type once the sun is over the yard arm for I am not capable!

  • Gosh it takes me so long just to read this thread I am amazed at the amount of things you all seem to get though and I know some of you have ill health to cope with as well. I am very much hoping this thread will inspire me to do lots more!! Today I have done very little as I so enthralled by this site - I have learned so much.

Having joined on the same day I am very impressed with inapicke who not only knows what an avatar is now but has one! ha ha maybe you could let me know how to do it if its not too complicated as I am now quite jealous!

Anyway I must get back to reading about your days and hopefully speak to you all tomorrow.

PS as a single person I would love a breadmaker myself but worry that I would not get the use out of it are any of you single and if so do you freeze your bread?
    Thank you

miss marple - i slice any left over bread and put in a freezer bag. when im having a lazy no breadmaking day...i whip it outta the freezer and pop it in the toaster - instant brekki for kids lol

fairly good day today although not much OS'ing. popped into sainsburys and bought a couple of bits..should have cost £5.18 but paid 1.03!! i love a bargain lol. took baby to hospital today for her appointment with eye clinic, have to go back in 6 weeks and keep checking it hasnt got any worse. came home (packed her a lunch to eat on way home in car) went for a nap when baby went down. popped into the co-op and bought 2 boxes of PG tips (the ones with the mugs in) for stocking fillers for the two oldest boys. my friend checked the oil and water in my car for me (i know i know..i really should learn how to do it myself!!!) :rotfl:

nabbed myself a few freebies on the freebie board!! kids came home and then drove to WHS so i could pick up todays free angelina ballerina DVD with the voucher in the daily mail. did tea which was throw together from odds and sods leftover in fridge. all in all a good day i think!!!

*Phew* I'm worn out now ... had a very busy day but "productive" :D

On the way back from the hospital, I popped into Sainsbury's (tbh, I was desperate for a drink and the loo :o ) and thought I'd have a quick peek over their reduced items while I was there: my lucky, lucky day!!! :j Not only did I sweep the place clean (ish) of their reduced items - straight in the freezer/store cupboard, thanks :D - but they also have a 1/3 off promotion some of their "Christmas" gifts, so I was able to grab a bargain or 4 from there too :D:D:D :j

Raced home and the line full of washing was almost dry! (BONUS! But then, I had hung it out at 7am :o )

Then quick dash for the school run ... which prompted a quickie in Tesco's (ds needed the mens room) ... netted myself 2 pairs of trousers and a beautiful white woolen top all for the grand price of .... £10.50 :D

Raced back home to feed the starving hordes only to find some "freebies" on the mat that will go great in my pamper basket and gift stash!

Ahh, the joys of needing to "spend a penny" ;)

You been cleaning out those kitchen cupboards, like me? I have a glass of wine in front of me as it seemed a shame to leave the bottle there for another day (yes - it's taken me 3 days to drink 1 bottle of red)

Today, deposited kids at schools and went to mum's to clean. My dear aunt had "helped" by making sure all those jobs I usually do were "done properly" Thus, I had all mum's front windows to clean AGAIN!! She had used an old bottle of windowlene or some such nasty concoction and you could have written a novelette i the streaks that were left. I applied water, elbow grease and a microfibre cloth to the problem and sparkly windows once more. However, I don't know what I'm going to do about her liberal applications of bleach around the place

Picked up DS2 at lunchtime, along with another 3yo. Lunch, and then playtime for them, although during a quiet period I even cleaned my own front windows - I must have just got into it today :)

Tea was a chicken dinner (SlowCooker) followed by baked jam sponge and custard. I have enough bread for tomorrow as BM on last night, so tonight will be spent gawping at Corrie and other complete drivel, but I intend to make one of those hot choccy drinks mentioned on another thread :D

Tomorrow, have mystery shopping job but will take mum with me so she can do some Xmas shopping.

Have a nice night and MATH, what time of day is your yard arm ? :D
