    Hello everybody,

Just finished our tea and sitting here stuffed to the eyeballs. I had HM Pizza tonight finished off with Lemon Sago & HM custard which were leftovers from last night. Still haven't beaten this darn flu yet. It's not helping that we have fires burning around us and smoke is in the air. Really playing havoc on my chest. Cough Cough:D So much for spring, all of a sudden it's stinking hot. Climbed to 40 degrees here today. Trying really hard not to put aircon on. It's only October for goodness sake.

Might have a look at the telly tonight. There's a good movie on. DH is washing the dishes at the mo. I better go in and help dry. Have a nice day to you all.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning All,

Its a busy one this morning at mine. Following yesterdays disastrous news about our house sale falling through I have 2 viewers coming today at 2.30 so I am frantically cleaning, hoovering, polishing etc. Another viewer tomorrow too so please keep all your fingers and toes crossed for us!

Weather overcast but dry so have put 2 loads out to dry, might be hoping for too much there but if you dont try you dont get.

Will post later to update on house situation.

    Hope all enjoy their weekends,
    Al.

    Hi Folks,
Just got over a nasty flu bug and consequently haven't eaten a great deal this wee, (apart from biscuits) My shopping bill for this months challenge is so far £13.53. The sun is trying to shine, and I am just going to strip the beds and get the wash done whilst it's stll bright. I am going to make some home made cookies this afternoon as my biscuit tin is a bit low. Comfort eating to ward off the Flu-blues this week.I also have some homework to do for my part-time course at Uni.I am a 60 year old granny and I am studying History, my grandson thinks I'm barking.
Glad I've got over the bug though as it really made me feel low. I have been walking a lot more to save on the petrol bill as well. This is such a good site and I have found it so interesting to read some of your mails. Keep up the good work peeps

Did the usual trudge into town this morning.
DS needed another course book (£27  and weighed a ton) and I found him a book for his birthday.
I bought us meat pies for lunch too for a treat.
Wilkinsons had onion setts for 69p(pack of 50) so I bought some before they were all snapped up.They were hidden in amongst the flower bulbs on a rack.
I'll probably sort out a patch for them to be planted in later.
I might pick one of the lettuces from the cold frame to have in sandwiches for tea. It'll be the first homegrown lettuce this year. All the ones in the garden were eaten by the slugs.

Planted out my garlics this morning. I'd started them too late in a pot to get finished and I read them up and it seems that planting them out now will mean they over winter and get a good start early in spring.

They smelt really nice as a teased them out of the pot. Lots of good roots too.

Edinburghlass: How do you make a Mars Bar Cake please? Being a bit of a Mars Bar addict I need to know!!!!

So far today I've done the shopping (including some Christmas things which have to be sent abroad at the end of this month so they can go by 'cheaper' surface mail!). Changed beds and towels which are all hanging out to dry. I think it's going to rain soon so I'm keeping an eye on it. Also done a (quick) clean around the house - next week I'll be more thorough!!!

This afternoon I have to sit down and write three letters for birthdays next week.

Bread smell from bread maker is wafting upstairs making me feel hungry!

Have just been printing out halloween templates so that next week I can applique skirt for DD aged 11 and make my own costume for her.

Got silver scarf in charity shop for 50p - which I will cut templates on and bought Bondaweb to stiffen material before sewing.

Taking DD and friend out this afternoon so will have to go soon.

Spent a lot of the morming helping with homework project and doing research in the library.
