Done 2 loads of washing today and hung outside, hopefully the weather will hold out so they can dry. Walked into town and bought a few things, a skirt £8, belt reduced to £1, and some pyjamas for £4 (all from Primark) I will prob give Mum the pyjamas to give me for Xmas as she always struggles finding presents for me. Also bought a fleecy thermal undersheet for winter for the bed- reduced from £16 to £8 for a double sheet, should keep us snug in bed, that was from Rosebys.

Got home, made a microwave jacket potato with beans. Have got all my winter clothes out and packed summer ones away.

Tonight I am babysitting so will take a good book to read once the kids are in bed. Last night we went to a little country pub with a few workmates and their partners for a meal. It was lovely, but very thick fog and we had a job finding our way back to the main road in such a rural area with poor lighting, but got home eventually!
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
  • Hi all,
Been to Aldi and done the shopping, unpacked it and ate lunch. DD's were taken to their dancing lessons by OH, DD2 has done ballet and gymnastics, is now home and is practising standing on her head. (More practice needed I think) and DD1 is currently at ballet and tap. They had their photos taken at dancing last week. I popped in to have a look at them on the way to Aldi but no price list. When OH went to view them with DD's he phoned me with the price. I went a bit pale with shock when I discovered they were £20 each photo. As they were very nice I picked out my favourite and told him just to order one. My mom (more money than sense) ordered 3!!! But as we had put in an order worth £80 in total they gave OH all the photos, so in total got 6 photos for £80. Still a rip off though.
Later we are going to see a show, its an amateur dramatic performance, lots of songs and dances from well known shows with some dancers from the girls dancing school in it. Also we are going out for a meal first so DD's are v excited. Whole night is a present to us from my mom because it was her birthday on Monday. (Told you, more money than sense but much appreciated all the same!, Mom is coming too by the way!)
Must remember to tape X Factor! I must go and press on because the house looks like a bombs dropped, washing to do, beds to change etc........

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well and enjoying life! I've not been very OS recently, apart from making bread in the BM that is. However, I have today photographed a load of items that I intend to list on ebay. Now I have done that I will have a go, as I haven't done it before. I have just sold two more books on amazon though, so I am inspired.

Tea will be spag bol as I have the meat in the fridge waiting to be cooked and I can't think of anything else to do with it and everyone loves pasta in our house.

I have to work out how I pay a euro cheque into my sterling current account as I sold some shares in my old company and they sent me a euro cheque.

I didn't get a Sun £9.50 holiday but I have a letter saying I will get priority next time and I needn't collect the tokens so that will come in useful.

Also had a letter from Nationwide saying my claim for Double the Difference on my car insurance renewal has been accepted so I will expect a cheque for £40 shortly.

Not all OS I know, but just an indication of how much more astute I am financially as a result of using MSE!

Have a nice evening everyone. I will be relaxing after tea with a large glass of red wine.

Had busy, but productive (and a little expensive!) day today.

DS2 desperately needed some new trousers. Ended up going to NEXT (big mistake for an impulse buyer - came out with 3 pairs of jeans & 2 tops for him) and spent £48.00!!!!

Did a load of washing, which had to be tumble dried due to the AWFUL weather here today!! Cleaned the house (except for bathroom-will do that tomorrow!) Did my son's spellings with him, cooked tea for kids etc...

Just about to bath kids then going out for curry with DH! Mom babysitting (so no costs incurred there) and it's a 'take your own drink' balti place, so shouldn't cost too much!!

Have a great Saturday night everyone!!!!!

Got loads achieved today - Good news was that the car passed its MOT!!!! That's a relief.

Had to go to Canterbury to pc world and persuaded DH to drop me into Lidl...got some great bun tins... one is small ring style with space for 6 cakes, the other is like a mini loaf tin style, again with 6 holes....had to come home and have a play. DDs helped me make some jam cakes, they turned out lovely and have all exploded in a jammy gooey mess. Made some cookies too buy they wont last long.

Hope you all have a wonderful evening. I'm off to check my ebay sales and relax witha glass of wine.

    Hi everyone :wave;

I'll try to get this post posted - last coulpe of days I've typed everything out and then the force has been against me and either the pc has crashed or DS2 has crashed (into me :D)

Anyway, Mr TM had a uni friend stay last night - they went to a gig and got slightly the worse for wear, but I had done lots of cleaning and washing yesterday. Need to do the ironing tonight, now :(

Made a huge cottage pie last night so we've had it again for tea, with Mr TM bagsying the last of the Korma :) Had some more gooseberry crumble too - haven't had goosegogs in ages and I love 'em.

Today I was out early - did an Aldi shop then stopped in at one of the cycle shops to decide if I really want a new bike for Xmas - I do, but the one I want is (£450) . That's without the extras too! I will have to join a cycling club if I get one as I need to make sure I use it. I used to cycle a lot when I was younger and I think it's the thought of having firm thighs again that may spur me into using it lots

Anyway, boys need putting to bed, ironing needs doing and I'm sure I can find a glass of wine with my name on it, while I watch 'afterlife'. Early start tomorrow as I'm doing the airport run, but will get chance to go to Trafford Centre and Costco (anyone want to meet for a coffee?)

    Have a good night

    Hi everyone!
Have been a very good OS girl today- always find it easier at the weekend when I'm not working.
Was at Lidl by 8:15 [not bad considering it's a half hour drive] for my six weekly shop. Spent £76  but can justify it by saying bought some Xmas eats, cream liquer and some Guilyan type choc shells for £1.69 instead of the £3.44 they charge at Tesco for presents. Besides the tax man has decided we overpaid by exactly that much last year so I'm even stevens.
I've done 2x washing and got it all ironed as the weather's been lovely including my HM quilt which my mummy help me make.
The small person helped me make flap jacks for our lunches this week- I like to catch them young.
This afternoon we wandered into town to catch our fantastic local morris team which are a bit different from the norm as they act out ancient tales and wear masks like the Venetian ones. Whilst there we picked up 25 pansies for £3 so OH has emptied the pots and refilled with HM compost in preparation for me to plant tomorrow,
This evening we are chilling with some cider, posh crisps and my favourite DVD 'Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe' which we got free with one of the Sunday papers a while back and OH had saved for my birthday.
Tomorrow apart from planting I plan to do some painting in the hall, cook a new Jamician chicken recipe, take up some trousers for OH which I got from the charity shop and convert some of the embroidered velvet from my old hippy skirt which has finally given up the ghost into a scarf.
We'll probably head out to a NT property in the afternoon.
    Cheerio :j

    Great day!

I've emailed the people who have bought our pram and stuff with directions and they will be arriving sometime tomorrow afternoon. They said around 4pm but they're coming from Nottingham so I don't know how accurate that time will be.

OH has had a phonecall today from someone in Wrexham who wants to buy our old car :D They're coming tomorrow afternoon so we'll be up and giving it a good clean tomorrow morning.

DD is still not well. She had awfully swollen glands last night and keeps coughing but it seems to only be when she's in her bedroom. She's now complaining of ear ache, so we're dosing her up on painkillers and plenty of fluids. Things slowly improve for a time, then they get really worse again and then improve.

Took some herbal sleep aids last night and STILL didn't sleep right through the night although I do feel much more rested than usual. Won't take them tonight as I want to be up and about tomorrow plus I don't want to sleep too heavy incase DD needs me in the night.

OH isn't feeling 100% either. Can someone pass the arsenic? :rotfl:

Had a huge clear out of papers and had to stop shredding them as the shredder was starting to complain. :o Will carry on tomorrow when OH hasn't got a headache.

Off to put some washing on and then up to my bedroom to sort out the washing thats drying up there. I think I might have to switch the heater off though as its boiling up there and I want to watch CSI up there so I can get on with some ironing.

    Night all!!!

  • Happy Birthday to any OS today

    Morning All

Toothache is easing up and managed to sleep last night :D think the antibiotics have kicked in and infection going down...so happy about that. Still have to have it taken out on thursday though

Have 2 washloads to do today and need to wash my dressing gown-has a strange watery brown mark on the cuff and its pale pink so very noticeable. Should I stick this in a 50c wash or hotter-its cotton? OH is putting up 3 bits of wallpaper in hallway which is on our list of jobs to do-but I wont hold my breath..lol  Going to sort out DD's wardrobe today too-its a right mess as she is not tidy at all-she should have been a boy...lol...shes a right grub ;) Will put stuff on ebay that she no longer fits.

Got a leg of lamb out for dinner later. Can anyone help me cook this in the SC-times etc-what to add water wise etc????? We usually eat around 5pm. Having with it, roast spuds, new pots & mint, HM yorkies, carrots, stuffing, cauliflower, parsnips (OH needs to get some), mint sauce and a ton of gravy :D I love sundays! May do a small peach crumble and custard for pudding.

Have compiled a list of odd jobs that need finishing around the house and have stuck on calender-so OH has to see it everyday :D They are only little jobs but am getting so fed up being stuck at home and keep noticing them.

Think breakie will be bacon butties all round.

Will catch up later. Have a great day!

    Penny-PIncher!!

    Gooooood Moooorning :D :hello:

PP - I would give it a pre-soak before washing it as normal.
As for your leg of lamb, I've never cooked one in a SC (lamb is quite fatty) always do mine in the oven. As you'll be making roast potatoes and HM Yorkshires, it may prove more economical (energywise) to cook your lamb in the oven too. (?)
I'm delighted to read that you're toothache is easing and that you've had a better nights sleep! :D

Not quite sure what's happening here today - LOL - bit of a topsy-turvy weekend with last minute changes. But, we're up to date on pretty much most things, so I'll play it all by ear ;)

Enjoy your Sunday everyone  :D
