  • Hello everyone,

Didn't sleep again last night!!! surely my brain has to get too tired to whir eventually! been awake for 3 days now and still no sleepiness on the horizon. Was at my psychiatrist yesterday for my first appointment and got some homework to do so I'll do that today. Was going to go up to the post office but feeling a bit weak from lack of sleep so might not plus its next door to a baker and I have a huge craving for fresh bread today that I don't know if i have the power to fight and as eating bread makes me really sick it may be better to avoid the temptation entirely.

Not much to do today scrubbed the flat yesterday/last night so may just have a lazy day in front of the tv/reading.

Actually might go to the post office after all have watched all my dvds from my free trial of online rental thing and want some more sent out so I can get my 'moneys' worth. Watched 3 films yesterday all brilliant: lemony snickett, million dollar baby and hitchhikers guide.

Anyway now I am just randomly babbling so I'll go.
    Have a good day everyone
    xxx

Johanne - your poor girl!! Have you tried applying for housing benefit and council tax benefit? The reason I ask is that now you have to pay the rent by yourself, you may be able to get some help if you cant afford it by yourself. (im not sure on the details, local council offices can help though). Im applying now cos the boyf isnt working yet and only my salary is paying ther bills at the moment, and hopefully should get some help...

Anyway, im still ill, and still going to work. Yesterday was a bit of a mare, had a panic attack whilst falling asleep and couldnt get to sleep for ages, so im exhausted. Only today and a short day saturday to go....

    Jo xx

P.S - Its lovely having you starting the daily thread again Queenie!!

Hi all. I hope you don't mind me joining in?

Johanne, I hope things look brighter soon. Maybe the citizen's advice would be able to let you know if there're things you can do to make sure things aren't going to be as bad as they seem.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

((((johanne)))) - we'll work something out, we always do :D

Bad night for me this time as well.
    • DD has got glands like golf balls and has spent most of the night coughing so she's off school to be dosed up with homemade soup (when I've sorted out the kitchen), soggy soldiers (toast without crusts cut into soldiers :rotfl: ), hot drinks and medicine.
    • OH spent the night snoring loudly (he must have been really tired) and shaking in his sleep but as he was shaking or turning over he seemed to hit me everytime
    • Someones house alarm went off at 4am
    • I've started with a sore throat, cold and cough - looks like I'm coming down with what DD has  So this will be the third week in a row I haven't been to see my Nan!
    Plan for today :
    • Attack the kitchen
    • Make chicken broth (got HM chicken stock in the freezer and broth mix somewhere)
    • Make some scones for lunches next week (frozen "off" milk in the freezer needs defrosting first)
    • Clean DD's bedroom with Anti-bac spray (after I've made it up) and deep clean it.
    • Clean house
    • Do washing & ironing
    • Feed people as necessary
    • Keep one eye on DD
    • PHONE SCHOOL - just about to do this over and over until I get through.
Not to bad as I can do most of this while in the same room or just off of the livingroom so looking after DD (who's been promised Cbeebies or Christmas videos all day) is not a problem. Off I go to phone the school.

Sorry for not getting on earlier-take care everybody.

i know will be losing my job and wont be able to pay my rent sometime within the next month or so...... so he was gonna move in even on a temp basis to help me out so i dont lose the house (No DSS and rent of £425 a month) but now obviously thats off the table.... which leaves me in a rubbish position of being completely ..
    Hiya.

It really would be a good idea to outline your problem on the benefits board. There are loads of people posting there who have already been through this sort of thing and some real experts who can provide help and advice.

Johanne...so sorry to hear about your break up:(
Your not being cold hearted, thats just your survival instinct kicking in.

PP.....you could ask the dentist and your doctor if you can use oil of cloves. You just dab it on the poor tooth and it does help.I had toothache for 3 days a couple of years ago and it was the only thing that helped at all.You can buy it in boots.

Yesterday we went out in the afternoon and trolled around the charity shops.I found an interesting book about making patterns from your existing clothes.
I bought DD a book of music as she is learning Piano.
DS has the dreaded cold now and actually fell asleep fully dressed poor old thing. He still went off to school this morning though.Good thing its nearly the weekend!
I actually bought myself a magazine yesterday for about the first time in 6 months then got home to find the organic gardening mag had come by post(just joined HDRA a month ago) so with library books and charity shop books,I now have plenty to read.
The BM has been on overnight as usual.OH takes the loaf out when he gets up.I've got a kitchen floor full of bedding to get in the WM this morning.
I bought a chicken this week and we didnt have a roast(had one last week) ,it has lasted 4 teas and a lunch including tonights tea. Then will freeze for soup.We had chops last Sunday (treat in our house)and the 4 cost nearly as much as the whole chicken!

    Good morning all
Sorry to hear about all the difficulties, especially Johanne & Pennypincher

Today we (ds & I) are off to a home-ed group. This week my Mum is coming to teach an art session in the morning, then there will be an archery lesson in the afternoon.
So DH, who is at home this week - we were on holiday last week & he booked an extra week to do some stuff about the house - should have the place to himself to get on with some gardening. He is getting rid of the great mound of earth that was left after the foundations for the new conservatory, and putting in a new paved area where we can have a table & chairs.
He is hoping my sister will come to pick up our niece who is staying with us at the moment, as she is supposed to take her out job-hunting today.
