Afternoon All
Was going to post earlier but didnt have time-had a very slow start (not feeling good again) and needed to get to the Warfarin clinic by 8am, which in london traffic is not nice  had to wait to see the doc as my blood results werent great and ended up being there 1.5hrs-so not too happy  Have to go back in 2 weeks.
Anyways, came back completely knackered and had carpet right coming to sort our insurance claim for the carpet (all done and dusted and will be fitted complete with new underlay in 2-3weeks-cost £75 excess but have got £450 worth of carpet & underlay). Managed to do 2 washloads and get OH to hang on line, DW emptied, downstairs pretty tidy and lunch was a picnic in the back garden with DD & OHand me flask of coffee...lol...NESCAFE ONLY here...lol
. Have cleaner coming tomorrow so will leave her some jobs to do
Well done Ms_London :T :T You were already in my list of favourite sellers on ebay for some reason-added you in June or July this year
Dinner tonight is lamb chops, minted new potatoes (reduced 15p). broccolli (reduced 10p) & carrots(reduced stew bag 25p for carrots, swede, onion & parsnip)
I am doing a lamb stew tommorrow and I normally add 1/2 bag of diced lamb, lamb stew sachet, carrots, pots, tin of baked beans and a tin of butter beans. Normally turns out nice, but have some swede that I got in the stew pack and normally only use this for carrot/swede mash-would this be ok to chunk and add to stew-does it taste okI also have a broth mix-does this work OK in a stew? Normally add dumplings about 45mins before serving, but I generally pick at the stew from lunch and eat all day
I asked a question the other day about the best time to go shopping to receive better discounts and we went to Tesco monday quite late around 6-7pm and loads of stuff was reduced-we bought:fresh chillis (29p), stew packs (25p), broccolli (10p), pate (29p), warburtons bread thick x4 (31p), hovis crusty white thick (31p), pomegranites (14p), apples (24p), melon (42p), bhajis x 5(8p), pasties (28p), chicken satay(12p), kingsmill white rolls (20p), kiwi (9p). There were tons more but wasnt going to buy for the sake of it :A Got DD her winter boots and used £10 in vouchers
May pop back in later. Enjoy the nice weather.

Hi everyone
i am in hong kong!! its a work trip - and definately not a very OS kind of place.
however due to it being most expenses paid and very cheap anyway i have been able to afford mysef a couple of little luxuries : )
I have taken great plasure in eating out - at a food stall at an open air night market for about £2.00. i have been for reflexology -an hour and a half for £5.00 and i have done some christmas shopping and picked up some fab bargains.
( i am avoiding chicken and the bird markets though : ) )
meanwhile - i hate to be ungrateful - but i wish i was home - im having Slow cooker withdrawal symptoms : )
i will not be on again till sunday so have a great weekend everyone.0 -
Hello everyone,
Congrats to ms_london. The half term is beginning to drag - I love being home with the kids, its OH who is hard work. The DDs and I had a lovely afternoon of bargain shopping in Lidl and Peacocks planned, now he's come home early and spoiled it! Sorry to moan but he's being very wearing at the moment - I came down this morning and he'd eaten three meals worth of carefully budgeted sausages in one fry up!:snow_laug HM Christmas 2010

My OH won't dare touch anything in the fridge and freezer without asking me first now :rotfl: If I think that it's his turn to cook then I'll tell him what to do.
Well, I've been to the dentist. Yet another thieving monkey! Ok, so it was worth it, I suppose - especially considering I haven't been for 4 years. However, just before Christmas I've got to go back to see the hygienest. I've already been told how much that will cost, so at least I can plan for it!
Good to meet up with my friend and put the world to rights about small children in schools!
Sadly, I've still got a pile of ironing to do. The WM has been on, so I think that while the weather is nice, I'll put that outside to dry and get the next load in!

Not very OS today at all, dinners pasta and sauce soon as we've got a musical rehearsal then quiz tonight but my parents are coming tomorrow so need to have a good clear up and clean when we get back and tomorrow morning - think I'm only working 1 hour tomorrow but that will be fine - done pretty well this week.
Must go and sort dinner, well done ms_london, hope everyone else is having a good day.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Hey - Bargain Rzl -You could buy your own beansprouter - I got one for about a fiver from my local healthfood shop, its convenient and you have them for when you want them (as they don't keep too long before they go soggy when you've bought them.) They look like a little stack of plastic clear containers with slits in, I think you can grow them in a jar but its more fiddly.0

Im glad to see another late poster waaag, I was just checking my finances in microsoft money and am soooo happy. Have had a second day of shopping and was a bit scared to add up all my visa receipts, hence the late hour as Ive been putting it off. I thought Id blown all my careful budget plans for the month out of the water. Added it all up and there's enough to cover everything. I wont be saving any this month but I've broken even despite the heavy shopping sessions. :j0
