    Morning everyone

I can't believe it, I'm off work today!! No I haven't been sacked nor phoned in "sick"....I had requested AGES ago to have today off work but they ummed and ahhed until 4.57 pm yesterday (yes, 3 minutes before home time!) before confirming I could take the day. So here I am still in my jimmies saying good morning to all you folks!

Today I am hoping to get a start made on my UCAS form, and need to phone some universities as well to check that my quals are suitable for the courses I am considering doing. I'll also bung in a load of washing, wash the kitchen floor properly, give the bathroom a good scrubbing, if I can manage it scalp the garden with a strimmer from the hire shop (it's a mess out there, a total and utter mess of dead weeds and no lawn to speak of). There is also a Farmer's Market nearby which I can at last get to and will stock up on local veggies and some meat etc. While I am in town I'll drop a box of oldies but still goodies in to Oxfam. (Can you believe the Oxfam shop was the target of vandals recently, they had their windows broken.. what mindless thugs we rub shoulders with...). If I get all that done I will be delighted with myself...though for some reason I always manage to get more done on a day's holiday from work than on a normal weekend day so I am hopeful.

    Oh I LOVE long weekends!

Bye everyone, have the best Friday you possibly can.

    Morning all

It's dark and rainy here in London - woke at 7:00 and the sky was still pitch black! At least the clocks are going back at the weekend, which will make the mornings lighter for a while, and also make me feel better in the evenings cos EVERYBODY will be leaving the office in the dark, not just me and the other gluttons for punishment on my project:rolleyes:

Might do this coming in for 8:30 thing a bit more often, as the train I got this morning had loads of seats available.

And MUST get up early tomorrow cos I've got loads to do around the house.

Have a nice day and I'll try to pop back later to talk about more interesting things than work...

Snowy Owl - Good luck with the UCAS forms.

I've had a really good week.

Just got an email confirming I'm on a Vision2learn IT course, so can hopefully update my IT skills (they're about 10 years out of date).

Had a super thank you email from a houseswap we stayed in in the German Alps, about how happy they were with how we'd left everything, and a nice thank you for the pressies, and an offer to go back again, it was a really super place and we'd love to.

Back on track with 'dieting' and don't think the week's holiday did too much damage.

Swapping to another hotel for the weekend, and the snow's gradually melting so hopefully will be able to get some walking done as originally planned.

Can't wait for the weekend to start now.

Morning all - wet and miserable here today. Done a 20 min whip round and stripped the beds....washings washing, tumbles about to get going and we're all up showered and dressed....I cut everyones hair last night - including my own fringe so that's saved a small fortune this weekend.

Off to pick up a table from a freecycle member at the weekend....we were just saying we needed to get a bigger something for xmas as I can't seat everyone round mine...this will do the job and all folds up and can be stored in the loft till next year too!

Off to see Nanny Mcfee later with a friend and all the kids....was supposed to be a zoo trip but not really the weather for it.

HM pizza for tea, tesco online shop being delivered at 5ish, did a wine order last night for xmas too, took advantage of the 1000 free points offer on the discount codes board...with wine and food and extra points it works out at £27 worth of vouchers which is over £100 in deals!!!!

Anyway - must dash - have a good one all.

Morning all. Busy morning already for me 1 batch of dishes washed, WM on and I've cleaned the oven :j all before 9am. Now the washer has finished I need to go hang it out and hope that the showers we are due won't be too heavy!

Did the big monthly shop last night and it came to £96.27  BUT that was all the meat for the month, £3.33 of stuff for mum and £2.47 for Fosters as well as a couple of other things that weren't on my list  Like Umbungo 12 pack for £2.85 (so thats ...erm...23p each  ) and sweets. THat leaves me with about 15 per week to get milk, bread & fruit so thats not too bad.

Off to put the washing out and than I'll be working on the budgets and getting Balance transfer info together ready for OH to do it tomorrow ;)

    Morning all :hello:

I've sent OH out to get some sausages from the butcher's shop, so I thought I'd sneak on here whilst he's out. He'll never know............. :shhh: :shhh:

It's my graduation day today for my PGCE, so we're meeting my mum and dad at the uni. I thought that it would be a big thing, but I haven't found many people who are attending and getting their hand shaken that I know. :( I'm sure I'll know a couple more people once I'm there. I can see myself being the sole representative for the whole PGCE course (and there were 3 different courses!). Ah well, at least I get to have my photo taken and my gran and grandpa can have a photo each. :D

Tonight we're going up to my parents' house in sunny Lincolnshire and my dad is taking us out for a meal to celebrate my latest bit of paper. I think they're hoping that I never decide to take another degree!

Grandpa is taking us out for lunch tomorrow as he wants to say thank you for throwing him a large 90th birthday party. He's great, but you don't want to start him talking as he doesn't draw breath! :rotfl:

well yesturday was a disaster and I ended at the emergency dentist as my toothache became unbearable, £36 just to put some clove oil in and a lot of drilling, bad news as she couldn't save it so have to go back on the 9th to have it out. I managed to spend £10.00 on taxis as I had to drop the girls off at my mums and take baby with me, so that is my budget totally up the creak  . Plus I didn't manage to send the ebay parcels I needed to.

well today looks better and I'm not in much pain at all, jon only has a short work day today so he can help me get the flat in some sort of order latr ready for the kids holloween party tommorow. must go and send some more ebay parcels plus the ones from yesturday.
Have washed the nappies and have the bedding in the washer now, the whole flat needs a good sping clean so that is what I will be doing today, no b/m or s/c today, as still have no energy after 3 noghts of practically no sleep I'm feeling rather awake, not sure how
must go and get the washing folded and put away
    hugs to all

  • Gosh its been a long time since I posted on here - have been very busy at work and the time does seem to fly. I have been keeping up as much as possible though you are all such an inspiration.

The weather here is absolutely beautiful again sorry for all of you with dark skies but here it is blue blue blue.:j Unfortunatly I am not nearly as organised as the rest of you (read I slept in this morning:o ) so have only just put the washing on - hope the weather holds and I can get them out on the line there is nothing like the smell of washing dried outside and its such a treat still been able to do that in late October dont you think.

This weekend I am planning some old style activities such as baking some bread (still havent got round to buying one yet maybe Father Christmas will bring one for me!!) and digging out some slow cooker recipes for next week.
Racy you made me laugh with your wholemeal flour covered surfaces - my problem is more a wholemeal flour covered me!

Am hoping to start some decorating soon as well as my spare room is very old fashioned now and everyone seems to be going for the chocolate and cream look so I may drag myself into the 21st century at last and have a go.

Hope you all have a great day
