Thinking of Grilling myself and my family

After reading so many of the posts in the House Buying, Renting & Selling forum I've reached a stage of depression where canibalism seems to be the only way out.
I couldn't bear for my family to have to fight through a civil war or live in 'death camps' situated in dissused aircraft hangers and so have decided to eat us all before this occurs.
The people who make these posts seem to be articulate and intelligent, so surely they're right? Why else would they post this information if it was not because they really feel this will happen. I just couldn't bear the loss of everything I have worked for - my pension, the house, my LCD widescreen TV.
Goodbye harsh world!

Dithering Dad please pick up the phone and ring the samaritans.
Nothing is as bad as these threads are suggesting.
Just like in the past people were convinced the world was square, it turned out to be very different.
Please seek help right now if you are in the least bit serious about this.0 -
If you are serious Dithering Dad, please PM me to see if I can help in any way.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0

Dithering dad... I've read most of the posts you are talking about I think... I share your underlying sentiments about them but this is a bit of a silly way to say "you are a bunch of dip5hits" to those posters. (and again I'll say, I do agree with you and the point you are trying to make - just some people won't see it)
For some people the current economic climate is a genuine reason in their eyes to consider what you are saying; you are making light of suicide I think. And trolling a bit ... lots of posters will not know what you are going on about and think you are serious and pour our lots of sympathy to you which you don't necessarily deserve... waste of their time! (especially with a post heading like that which will be on the front forum page for a while probably...)
Anyway I know you know this, and as I said I agree with the point you're trying to make, so I won't go on about it anymore...0 -
Dithering Dad - have you posted on the DFW board for some virtual hugs yet?
The widescreen telly reference maybe suggests that this is a wind-up...isn't it?0 -
If this is a joke it's in very poor taste but one way or another you need help.Dithering_Dad wrote: »After reading so many of the posts in the House Buying, Renting & Selling forum I've reached a stage of depression where suicide seems to be the only way out.

Well we'll find out when we watch the bbc news at 6 tonight:rolleyes:
I can see where he's coming from, doom and gloom and all that but the title of the thread and his 'motives' are a bit over the top for what message he is trying to get across.0 -
DD I can only assume you are joking...However, the economy is in a difficult place don't you think? The House board is currently only for those with a very strong constitution.0

DD sent a post two minutes after this one in the pensions thread, so I suspect he thinks he is either being funny/provoking discussions.
Nevertheless I still worry that there are some people out there who do really feel suicidal and will still post accordingly even if a possible wind up.
I was particulaly concerned that DD mentioned his children and killing of in the same sentence.
I'm afraid I for one don't appreciate the OP's post.
thankfully OP has now replaced "killing" with "grilling" not that that's much of an improvement0 -
You're just suffering from a low mood moment. It's Thursday, where's the bl00dy summer and you've been too long away from your family.
You've made some fantastic efforts recently to really secure the future of your family and are looking forward to the time when you can all be together every day and debt free.
Look down the list of what you've achieved.
See how far you've come in the last 6 months.
Make a list of where you were then and where you are now.
The doomsters are there for our enjoyment. A bit like an amusing Tom Sharpe novel for the train journey.
Pay no heed to their doom and gloom forecasts.
Phone home. Tell your wife you love her and plan something fun for the weekend (even if it's only feeding ducks at a village pond).
5 years from now you'll look back on all this and laugh, as you sit there with your family around you and your debts nailed.
Good luck!0 -
Dithering Dad
I think this is a joke
Your signature (which you have carefully deleted for this post) says you will be mortgage free in 3 years. I don't think you have too much to worry about.
I think it's sick that you would write a post such as this where people are clearly offering genuine sympathy and concern because some people may actually need it.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0
