Not really. You could look at it like laughing at the speakers in Hyde Park - or politicians on the telly. Just don't take it seriously. How do they know anything? It takes a very small change indeed to totally overturn any OPINION here. (including mine!)0 -
Shut the door on your way out.....

You might not feel that you are very huggy huggy, but from the posts I have read from you, you provide a very level headed and fair opinion. You seem extremely sound and realiable, and provide loads of useful links and information. I think MSE would be a sadder place without you!
I think you are brill!!
I think it's maybe about time you do too!

Capt I think that ones a little below the belt.0 -

I had a client who died while Mountain Biking the weekend he completed on his house purchase.
£175000 mortgage on a £200000 house. He was earning £70000 a year, his partner worked part time for her own spending money on £5000. No kids.
For weeks before the exchange of contracts I was asking him to book an appointment to sort out the life assurance.
He WANTED the life assurance, but just wanted to get the purchase out of the way and was busy at work.
I told him the risks of exchanging contracts without Building Insurance or Life Assurance, but the Building Insurance was a condition that he had some for him to exchange.
He went Mountain Biking while his partner and her mum were getting the house tidy and broke his neck.
I suppose, Private Mainwairing, that I am more concerned about not getting my commission eh? :mad:I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -
Helps to have a chubby child in order to get a decent meal, those skinny ones are only good for soup and making stock.0

The stuffy image of mortgage sales agents with tweed jackets and a funny smell is not without substance.
Your mate didn't have a lot of luck did he? earning 75K with no kids and he only saved up 25K deposit and couldn't be bothered to take out insurance?
If I went out while my wife and MIL were tidying the house, I wouldn't need a mountain bike to break my neck.
Just how many of your clients have popped their cloggs?0 -
as soon as i read DD original post - i knew it was a wind-up - lighten up folks !!!!!!0

You know nothing about this client so how can you comment you heartless imbecile.
I have arranged over 2500 mortgages and have thousands of clients and I have lost a few of them through death. Only one has committed suicide to the best of my knowledge.
Helping the family to sort out affairs afterwards and not charging anything is just part of the job and a service most people would gladly do to ease the pressure from the widow/widower or family.
If you have nothing sane or decent to say, belt up.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -
