a. THE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS RESOURCE CENTRE
b. www.msrc.co.uk
c. Proactive, innovative, passionately committed, supporting anyone affected. (MS)
d. M.S. is a progressive lifelong neuro degenerative condition with NO CURE which can be very unpredictable and debilitating. MS is the most common neurological disease among young adults and most common cause of disability. Scotland has the highest incidence of MS in the World. Our special son was diagnosed with M.S. at just 15 years old. Being uncommon in his age group there is literally no suitable support for children and teenagers with M.S. With your help and support, hopefully this will change by raising awareness that children and teenagers do get M.S. Our son has recently written an essay entitled "The sound of the second hand on the clock", My Story. It is very emotional, uplifting and inspirational. He recently agree to put it on the MSRC website who are trying to raise awareness of Paediatric MS with an area dedicated to children and teenagers. We are very proud of our son. You can read it at http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=show&pageid=2396

a. Bliss - the premature baby charity
b. www.bliss.org.uk
c. For babies born too soon, small or sick

The average total spend for the parents asked was £1,885. But in some cases the extra cost was over £15,000. Bliss provides information on how to find financial assistance and campaigns for changes in government to provide further resources0 -

CLAPA(NI) (Cleft lip and Palate Association Northern Ireland) is a branch of CLAPA(UK)
www.clapa.com
CLAPA(NI) aims to assist persons with the condition.
CLAPA(NI) should be supported as we want to have enough funds to supply equipment to help babies feed and strive, toddlers to assist with speech development, larger kids and teens to have fun and activities which help develop their social skills, self esteem and self confidence through outdoor activities, council ling, make-up lessons, dealing with bully's and education on life skills. We would also like to supply a service which helps parents cope with having a child with a Cleft and give simple advice around caring for these children. As we know we live in a world totally absorbed in the physical appearance of people and someone with a facial disfigurement can find it hard to be accepted. We would very much like to educate the world around us on how this can affect a young person with a cleft so please help us do this.0 -
children walking tall
Founded in 2004, Children Walking Tall is a registered UK charity dedicated to helping slum and street children in India. We provide food, shelter, medical care and education for some of the poorest children in India from our base in Goa. There are thousands of children living in slums and on the streets of Goa alone. Some are orphans, others runaways escaping poverty or abuse. These children originate from all over India and often come with their families looking for work. Many make the long journey to Goa by train, sweeping the carriages, trying to earn rupees as they go.
Many are drawn to Goa in the belief that the tourists will provide them with everything they need, but this is far from true. Street children can often be found roaming the streets begging for money and sleeping under bridges or bus stations at night. They are frequently in trouble with the locals, who fear their bad effect on business. Some earn money by rag picking, or selling plastic bags in the fish markets, working up to 13 hours a day. Some start begging as soon as they are old enough to walk. Their looks bring in a small amount of money, but as they get older many find it difficult to beg; as they lose their charm they are more likely to be classed as a threat by tourists than a child in need. Spurned in this way, many resort to petty crime and substance abuse.
Slum and street children are at great risk from malnutrition, abuse, illness and neglect. Families build basic homes from bamboo, plastic, cardboard or corrugated iron; making slum communities in any spare land they can find.
Children Walking Tall was established to give these children a springboard out of poverty. Providing food, shelter, medical care and education, we aim to give the children something most have never had before: a childhood worth remembering.

1. 'SUSSEX HOLIDAY CLUB'
2. nahilschofield@yahoo.co.uk
3. Community Saw A Need And Made It Happen
Sussex Holiday Club was founded in 1997 to provide a summer holiday for adults with learning difficulties who would otherwise find it problematical to source or fund
The holidays provided by the club are not only beneficial to the members, a time to let their hair down with friends and holiday support volunteers, but also a time for the carers and parents to recharge their batteries. Each year 46 adults with learning disabilities leave Worthing by coach to a holiday destination which has been inspected by the club committee to ensure both suitability and within the guidelines of Health and Safety criteria and cost effectiveness . This is a very worthwhile charity that makes a real difference for a group of people who would otherwise be denied a memorable holiday. a tiny charity started and run by local people who saw a need and made it happen.
