Hello everyone. For what it's worth, I've just returned from Egypt having booked part of my accommodation (in Cairo) through GTA. I had made the reservation before I had read all of the negative comments on this thread, so you can imagine my nervousness having already paid up front for the room. I contacted Caroline at GTA and she asked for the hotel to send me their own confirmation number, and I independently emailed the hotel to confirm, which they did very promptly.
All in all, my transaction with GTA was a very positive one. I appreciate others may have had bad experiences, but I promised Caroline that if my trip went without a hitch or demands for extra payment, I would post this review. Would I use them again? Yes, but with appropriate checks and cross-checks with the accommodation on site.

I have used them a few times and had no probs with any bookings and that has been for group and for just my wife and I. Incidentally have not used them in past year but that was because they were more expensive than other sites. Only problem if it can be called that was the cc company checking that I was buying something in Turkey but the group booker (wanted 5 rooms which at time had to be phoned for) had told me this and was able to confirm the transaction. Not saying there is nothing wrong with them but have used them on at least 6 occasions and would do so again if price was right. Incidentally just used Asda and they were fine.0

Similar thing happened to me last year. Gtahotels were (or affected to be) highly offended when I pointed out the coincidence of time scales.I booked with gtahotels.com a couple of years ago for a hotel in Amsterdam and had no problems at all. We took the voucher, checked in and all was well.
I've recently tried to book for a two night trip to London and thought I had successfully done so having put all my details into the system, however, it was apparently only for a reservation request. I then had a call from my bank the following day to say that my credit card had been stopped due to fraudulent activity following the transaction with GTA. I have since booked the hotel through them as it was one I really want to go to so fingers crossed (although I think I'll confirm with the hotel direct to be on the safe side!!)0 -
After reading all these comments, it scared the bejesus out of me ! I called the hotel where I had booked even twice and was told both times that I was securely confirmed with a prepaid reservation and also got a hotel confirmation number each time from the person I spoke to. Should I still be worried ??????!!!!!0

We have used Otel.com for numerous bookings - & saved a fortune.I have recommended them to friends and family ,who, like us have had no problems.
I have had free nights in London with redeemed points that are awarded for each booking.I did have to call them on one occasion ,when the booking was for the next day,but there was no problem and they were polite & efficient.I believe from previous threads posted that they are part of GTA (they are also based in Turkey - & yes you pay in euros). I may now confirm with the hotel that I have a booking - just in case.0 -
I used GTA to book a hotel for my friend only a couple of weeks ago. Got a great rate and I am very happy with their service.0

I don't know how their system works but I used them and booked a hotel room in a city where every other hotel had no vacancies. After reading all of the complaints about them I call the hotel, only to find out that they don't have my name or GTA hotels on the guest registry, and they haven't had availabilities for that weekend for the past two months!0

I booked a 4 night stay in Vienna before I found the comments on this site.
I was concerned about the negative reports about this company and considered cancelling my booking, but ended up just confirming that the Hotel had my booking.
I have just returned from my stay in Vienna and everything went without a hitch. Given the good rate I received from GTA Hotels I would certainly consider using them again.0 -
I certainly would think twice about using them again, after the Geneva experience! Here's someone else's comments from a few days ago.I booked a hotel room through this company for my parents who were vacationing in Auckland New Zealand. I had been searching for hours until I found the only room available throughout the entire city and booked it through GTA hotels. They CONFIRMED that the room was available (I called). I became suspicious after doing a google search I found out that a lot of people have had problems with them. So I call the hotel they claim to have reserved for me and it turns out not only am I not listed on the registry, that weekend has been fully reserved for the last two months! I canceled my booking and found a hotel a half hour from the city. If I hadn't done this google search my parents would have been SOL since there wasn't a single hotel available in the city that weekend.0
